I'm starting to learn that certain cheeses is my enemy! My body doesn't do well with I think soft cheese. I'm just cutting it out all together and when I come down some more, I'll do some experimenting.

My school gave us a cookout for teacher appreciation week and I only ate the hot dog, burger, and some strawberries without struggle to not get other stuff

Hello keto people. So last week I gained 8 pounds it was also the week of my spring break (educator) ...eeeek! So I was starting to think I was at a stall before the gain anyway so I decided to "restart" my ketosis and eat some carbs. So I ate three

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to be more patient plus like many are saying, it heals my body. I am recovering from RA and my body has been feeling really good.

Thanks for the advice. It's seems like don't eating too much protein has been drilled into me. At what point does protein start to turn into glucose or how can I find out for me personally? I can't find this anywhere. Even if I had a ball park figure, at least I would have an idea. I really appreciate you guys.

Thank you guys for the helpful advice. I still don't know exactly how much protein is too much. I think I focused on not having more than 20g or carbs for the most part. And referring to the diagram above, I think I have been eating more like the maintenance side. My Tdee is about 3600 Cal's so I should be able to lose…

I use olive oil, and coconut oil. I have been eating all kinds of cheese lol. I might have to slow down on those. I don't know the difference between hard and soft cheeses, sorry if this sounds stupid. Is there a list of best cheeses to eat while on keto?

I sorry I forgot to state when I started. I started at 360 January 20 and I am currently 340 (lowest I seen, weight fluctuates ). So 20 pounds in three months. I don't eat any grains for Amy Myers autoimmunity book. Could it be cheese?

Update: So my wife and my daughter are now eating Keto. My wife started to see my progress and how I was feeling better and losing weight; she started doing her research and decided to jump in with both feet first! and my daughter usually does what my wife does. So in hinds sight all i really had to do is not say anything…

highest weight: 413 SW-(on keto) 360 1/26 CW- 340.6 4/15

Wow I need to be more consistent taking it. Should I take more because of my size?
-
you have a reference for this?
-
Highest weight since starting to lose again was 369.6 current weight is 343.6 and my goal weight is 250. Started Keto Jan 20ish. So... SW: 368.8 3/22: 343.6 3/29: 343.2 GW: 250 (might change!:)) I think my low vitamin D level along with my RA may be slowing my loss. but a loss is a loss.

I have been taking 10k IU for the past two months. I'm starting 20k soon with k2. Did you notice a difference in how you felt or notice anything different from your lowest d levels to your highest?
-
@Sunny Yea, I'm at the gym now getting it in. Now you mean eating low calorie wise or protein wise...Just making sure.
-
@GaleHawkins no problem. People need to know. What is the ratio of d3 to k2 that you take? or does it not matter as long as your taking K2...

check this out! http://www.healthfeed.us/the-all-natural-way-to-reverse-rheumatoid-arthritis-doctors-are-in-complete-denial-about/5/ article highlights importance of vitamin D. I don't know if this was shared already but this has me excited.

bump this. This is so interesting....for anyone that's new like me...with auto-immune issues read back on the links on vitamin D. Very interesting stuff. My D level has been low for years and I just started taking 10,000IU and my level just got into the really low to low but normal range(31) (31-100 is considered normal).…

I can't believe I'm just not reading this. I could of started this at least two weeks ago. Anyone have any personal success with these steps that have (or had) auto-immune issues?
-
this may be why I weight loss slowed being that I have RA and like you have lost inches. how did you resolve leaky gut? Also have you tried Glutamine-L?
-
@Sunny_Bunny_ it's quite possible that I may be insulin resistant. Even though my IR level was about 8, my blood glucose level was 5.7. Last time it was 5.9 which was a little over a year agao. I started Keto end of January and had my physical end of Feb, plus my weight loss is slow IMO.
-
Got it! So I should be more concerned about losing lean muscle mass and eating too much protein.
-
I worked out yesterday, Felt good after too, (given that I have RA). But this morning I am TIRED arrrggg... :s . I'm trying to figure out why.

loaded cauliflower!

Well congrats on getting back on track! We all go through it sometimes!

Question on this: How much protein should one eat per meal to not go over the "too much protein turn in to glucose" point. I heard it was about 30-40 grams. how can I know or tell?
-
Does it matter where we get our salt from?
-
Soooo...does it matter what source the sodium/salt comes from?
-
cool! thanks for the info. What brand of magnesium do you use?

no change this week...:( I had smashed some chocolate almonds this past weekend.
