  • I live for my weekend pints!. I am an extra good girl during the week days and go to the gym like I should and generally behave but come the weekend.. I dont have one or two. I am a self proclaimed binge drinker. I counteract this by working out still AND having a low calorie protein day on the Monday after the weekend to…
  • YUM!! I have em fried with no oil for brekky with cherry tomatoes and a splash of balsamic vinegar..
  • wow... I dont burn near as many calories as you guys. I do 4o minutes intense workout 4 times a week in the morning- 3 km stepper, 5km cycling and another 3km eliptical and get my heart rate to hang between 140-165 at all times- this only brings me a 220 calorie burn, and 3 times a week in the afternoon I do weights and…
  • I cant see why not... Im at the gym 5am in the morning doing 40 min cardio then after work I go back to the gym to do either 40 min cardio or 1 hr of weights a couple of hours before I go to bed and I sleep well :) As long as your finding time to exercise I say go for it!!
  • Welcome, Firstly- if you have already started with a mind set that this is not for you, then it wont work. What this does is make you aware of how many calories you are eating and records the amount of exercise you are doing. ie. Energy In (Food) must also be balanced with energy out (exercise) I do not eat any crazy new…
  • Hi, I recently had a holiday in Thailand and my advise is to enjoy your holiday! Eat what ever you like- just halve the portions, drink anything you like- but ask for the skinnier versions. I put on 2 1/2 kg (5.5lbs) on my 2 week vacation but it only took me a week back at home to get it back off.. Holidays dont last for…
  • No.. a heart rate monitor is the closest you will get to an accurate calorie burn calculation. Invest in one.. it makes a huge difference!
  • Thanks for the great tips.. may have to do a food shopping day when we first get there to stock up on my protein bars, I agree with you, they keep me out of mischief and away from the delights of carb laden foods. I am a big water drinker- drink at least 3 litres a day but unfortunately will match my alcohol with that!…
  • Inaccurate.. a heart rate monitor is the closest you will get to knowing your calorie burn :) Also- you cannot expect to continue to work off exactly the same calories everytime you do the same exercise for the same amount of time. Variables include your increasing fitness and your weight loss. I definately know I burnt…
  • Skinny Cow desserts! Thier Giant Cookie with Icecream in it (under 130 calories- low sugar and carbs) and thier choc/ caramel/ choc mint sundaes (110 calories) are soooo yummy. I have them a couple times a week to congratulate myself or for when I have excess calories left over at the end of the day.
  • where do I start! Alcohol!! Beer- low carb of course or vodka and diet coke Dip platter- broccoli, carrots and celery with a low fat dip Pizza- gluten free base with prawns, tomato and minimal cheese Chocolate- Low carb swisse choc fit balls Basically- most of my weekends are 'cheat days' but I work out in the mornings to…
  • I use my HRM- unless you are doing a super power session, you will surprised at how little calories are burnt (MFP is way out) BUT on the bright side the fat burn percentage is sooooo much more than cardio :)
  • I have a protein only day the next day - couple eggs for brekky, jerky 2 hours later, 100g tuna or turkey for lunch, either ham or protein bar 2 hours after that and 100g chicken for dinner, I only do weights that day also for the extra burn. It stops me from craving anything else that I have indulged in the day before eg.…
  • I have a polar FT60- it also tracks my burning zones , tells me my fat burning ration and sets weight loss plans for me. At the end of each session I just log my calories in as mixed cardio in MFP manually (I have MFP on my phone and do this over brekky!) previously I had a runtastic HRM with dongle.. was forever dropping…
  • I will be paying attention to this feed I recently got a runtastic HRM with the dongle that connects to your iphone.. highly recommend NOT to buy it. Forever dropping out on the signal. Only brought it because it auto updates MFP- but it turned out to be more effort to get the darn thing in a spot that worked properly…
  • Groan.. it's a sad day when people feel the need to comment about something they are NOT interested in.We all can self diagnose and prescribe according to the internet but it is helpful to hear from those who actually have given it a go rather than those who havent, dont want to and want to make people NOT want to based on…
  • Ok- will make a conscious effort to eat back my calories and try to keep to my 1200 + exercise calories.. will report back in a week to let you know of my (hopeful) success!
  • Thanks guys- I generally dont have a 'down week' on my off weeks I will take a day off the gym. As the MFP exercise guide seems to opver calculate the amount of cals burnt in exercising (still trying to find a hrm in my price range) I under eat to combat. I pack lunches for work and snack regularly- it seems I am forever…
