But no one is telling you to eat less fat, and no one has said they are afraid of fat. A few people have mentioned they reduced overall intake by cutting out some fats they felt were extraneous for their own intake. So why are you jumping down everyone's throats for "saying what you are doing is wrong" since apparently the…

And again, why do you say that some thing patently is not filling. Different people have different satiety. Nevermind that over half of the calories in potato chips are from fat.
-
So then why are you bringing it up? As someone else mentioned, it can be easy to cut out small portions of higher calorie foods rather than large quantities of lower calorie food. It just so happens that fats are the most calorie dense when it comes to macros, so a lot of people tend to make their sacrifice there.
-
But why the difference of 500 calories of one and 600 of another? Why is one a better choice than the other? What if I like pasta better than steak? What if I have 300 calories of pasta, 150 calories of pasta sauce and 150 calories of full fat cheese? I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON!
-
Not quite "banned", but they been removed form the "generally recognized as safe" list. http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm451237.htm
-
So, 500 calories of pasta isn't filling? Since when did satiety become the exact same for every human on the planet?

I consider myself a volume eater as well. For dinner tonight I'll have 2.5 chicken sausages (they come in packs of 5, and there's no point in letting that last link go to waste), two hot dog buns, and some vegetables that I roast. However, my serving of vegetables tonight is 330g of carrots. I was told on these forums that…

The ones I get from walmart range from 150g up to 240g. That's about 5-8oz. And that's weighing them after cooked, which is going to weigh A LOT less than raw (and I just use the grilled chicken entry in the database instead).

Interesting, it seems that they're following very similar guidelines for what the FDA is using for "healthy", lower fat and calorie focused. They just have a color coded system, but again, it's on the same flawed logic. Fruits and veggies aren't labeled, but if they were, I'd guess avocados would be at least an orange dot…
-
Well, this is the current definition of "healthy", which does seem rather misguided.
-
Well, knowing what you normally do would help... Lets see. I loved some chicken my mom always made as a kid, grilled, and then right at the end topped with a mix of tomatoes, green chilis, green onions, and a little bit of olive oil. I honestly don't make many chicken dishes; well, it's more shredded chicken in other…

We just registered for our wedding earlier this year. We went to a ton of stores; for me the deciding factor was finding a cereal bowl that wasn't ridiculous and the set had a "snack" bowl that would work for gelato and ice cream.

I love taco salad, and I make it a lot. I cook down bell pepper, onions, and mushrooms, add it to spinach, chicken, and I call it a day with some salsa (ok, like a lot of salsa) for dressing. It clocks in relatively low at about 450 calories (with almost half of those due to the chicken). But, depending on my calories for…

Headlamps can also be useful.

Ooh, I might have to hunt down the recipe for this:
-
Why would it be ineffective?
-
Well, it's working well for me. I've been using the hell out of my FitBit and PokemonGo. When I first got my FitBit, I took on average 3000 steps a day. Now I average closert to 17,000. It's been super effective, and I love being competitive, mostly with myself, but challenges are fun too.

Well, cilantro tastes like soap to some people, so maybe?

Thanks a lot. I'm now picturing a lot of the UK health campaigns using this:
-
Not afraid of fat, but I find that cutting some high fat foods help me stay within my calorie goals. It's a balance game.

Oh, I figured we were supposed to burn all the KFC's to the ground.

I'm actually wondering if this wasn't a ploy for people to post pics for him to creep...
-
And that's entertaining coming from the faceless user.
-
Ok, that makes more sense. I wasn't following the jump in logic.

But if someone is losing at 1800 but not 1200 and it's due to exercise, I'm lost to the point? The additional weight loss would be attributed to adding exercise to their regimen, not how much food they are or are not eating?
-
And again, if we're going with "heritage" I'd say it was apple pie. Nothing as American as baseball and apple pie. Or so the saying goes...
-
Which is funny since I've always heard that before tikka masala, it was fish and chips.
-
Hm, considering the hamburger is German in origin, that surprises me. And honestly, I'd think the more common associate is for uniquely American items, like apple pie. Wiki tells me the national food in the US includes hamburgers, hot dogs, apple pie, fried chicken, buffalo wings, and mac and cheese. Those 9 year olds know…
