  • Lots of luck to both of you.
  • To up my protein I add mozzarella cheese (I'm allergic to most other cheeses, but I'm sure any low fat cheese would work). I throw it on top of an egg for breakfast, into soups, into salads. At least twice a day I'd say. it helps add protein and doesn't feel like I'm adding food when I am easily full.
  • I just started being able to eat a reg diet. No more mushie or soft foods. Thanks for the answers just have to start being more careful. Wasn't hard before not to eat the wrong things since I wasn't hungry, but now have to be more aware I guess.
  • I don't think there is any normal, but wow I'm jealous. I am 32 days out and have just lost 23. Don't worry about normal and just be thankful.
  • I had my sleeve on 4/26. I don't find that I want to graze cause it takes all I have to eat 3 meals and possibly 2 snacks. My biggest problem is that I spend 90% of my time thinking about what to eat, when to eat it and eating it. I hope that this obsession lessens when I'm further out. I don't want to spend the rest of my…
  • Caffeine was never brought up by my surgeon either pre=op or post-op. Though the coffee was supposed to be black and sugar free. The first 2 weeks post-op I added chocolate protein mix to my double sized cup and drank it from the time I left the hospital. My Rd said I couldn't have protein shakes any longer at the 2.5 week…

  • Welcome Stacy! Nice job so far!
  • Its a battle doing EVERYTHING we have to do to get the most out of our WLS. I find that the easiest way to get in all my protein is to plan in the morning what I will eat all day and then make sure I take the time to eat it. I have a pill box that I set out every days vitamins in and have it where I can see it. Then I make…
  • I had the sleeve done April 26th and have had bouts of discouragement already. I seem to get discouraged when I take my eyes off my journey and start comparing it to others. What is discouraging you?
  • Did you have your surgery on April 25? I had mine on the 26th. I am down 17 pounds at 3 weeks post op. Seemed low to me when hearing others numbers, but I try to remember that down is good and it is not a race but an individual journey.
  • MFP says I should have at least 1250 cals and I average less than 700. I asked my RD at my last appt and she says MFP doesn't take into account that we had WLS. She said focus on getting the 70 grams of protein and less than 30 grams of carbs a day and not to worry about the calorie count.
  • Thank you for sharing that site. There was a lot of good info and some nice recipes there too!
  • Congratulations to both of you on your surgiversaries. I am just 23 days post-op and find encouragement In hearing about other's success. I do find that it can also be discouraging if I do too much comparing. So I try to remember it is not a race but a journey and though we can support each other, each of our journeys is…

  • Congratulations, I bet you feel great about yourself right now. Keep up the great work and welcome to the group.
  • Hi, I am 11 days out from having been sleeved so I have no advice to offer just want to say hi. Also, I have been using MFP to record what I eat(drink really). I love it cause it helps me track how much protein I have had so I can be sure to get the 70 g in that are suggested. Good luck to you on your journey.
