  • Take some music with you. Birds singing are nice but it's easier to run when you hear a beat, it helps me to keep going. It will definitely get better. Maybe change proportions - run 3 minutes, walk 5 minutes (or if you feel better walk 3 minutes) and so on. If you have a HRM watch not to exceed 85-90% of your HR - you…
  • BTW - You guys are lucky there in the US because in Europe running shoes are much more expensive, hehe. Appreciate that
  • Good morning  Looks like I feel better in asics than in new balance (too wide for me). The problem is there are no asics stores here were I live (I've heard that they are going to open a few soon so I'm really looking forward), there are only couple of pairs in other stores :ohwell: I found asics gel stratus but got…
  • You can, if you don't want to drink regular milk. I use vanilla flavor soy milk in smoothies sometimes - tastes great.
  • Thanks for all the advice! :flowerforyou: I went to New Balance store and had my foot examined. I've got slightly high arch. I've chosen model 826 but I have to wait for half a size bigger pair and we'll see. They look great but what concernes me is that I feel my feet have much space in the front. I wonder how tight…
  • Hi! I need to buy new running shoes. I used to have Nike and Reebok but I think they are not the best or the cheapest or the most beautiful so why not change for something new  I have a question for all runners - what do you think about New Balance and Asics brands? They are not so popular in Poland so nobody can…
  • This month it was 5lbs for me... :ohwell:
  • If it says how many calories you burn during exercising this is all you need, just wear it longer  This plateau breaking diet can be a good point to start with because it sounds healthy and delicious  - we can add some extra food to fit into our plans. I guess we can have a day strict to the plan once in a…
  • Nice to hear you were looking for me :smooched: :flowerforyou: Amanda, do you have a HRM? If so wear it for the whole normal day (24hrs best but I couldn't sleep in that thing  ) and calculate how many calories you burn. Than deduct not more than 500cals (300 is also ok) and you should be fine. I find my HRM really…
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/post/by_user/70311 If you click on the number of posts a user send (below the picture), you'll see their newest posts  However, I'm not convinced such diets are good for your body... A propos starving - did you watch the documentary about this super fast dieting on youtube? That's…
  • Hi! I just wanted to say that I have a few pounds to lose as well. Human body is a really complicated mechanism - I've lost a pound during two or three weeks when I completely forgot about counting calories!! Amanda, I think (from my experience and all what I've read and see) that you won't gain if you eat more. You are…
  • Yes, that's mad, but this two girls did it "for the sake" of others in a way. I was shocked that 3-4 weeks is enough to develop an eating disorder!! Wow! I think EVERYBODY should see this, especially if you have/expect to have children (daughters mostly) to be aware of the problem! I need to show this to my boyfriend. I…
  • Yes, it may be stress. You can try yoga - for me it's a great relax.
  • Don't be afraid to up your calories! If you are eating anything below your maintenance calories there's no way you can gain any weight in the long run. You may gain a little but it will only mean that you were starving yourself before!! I started at MFP with 1200, lost about 3lbs and stopped, experiment with 1300-1500 for…

  • Well said! You are beautiful and that's what counts :flowerforyou: Don't think so much about numbers, 11lbs is really not much. I didn't have time to track my calories for the last few weeks but I started jogging. Today I stepped on a scale hoping not to gain to much but... I've lost a pound  Just stop thinking…
  • I found a recipe somewhere for these pancake like things and they are good. Cook rolled oats in water (just as much as they would absorb), add eggs, salt and vanilla sugar. Proportions are like 1cup cooked oats:1 egg. Then fry. Serve with ex. fruits and yogurt. You can cook oats in milk as well.

  • This definitely WAS a compliment! I also like to look at nice legs belonging to a man, which doesn't happen very often. Sth to be proud of, Sgt  :drinker: Talking about letters and shapes... I like that my body looks more like X (or Coca-Cola bottle LOL) than A.
  • Ups! :ohwell: Sounds like I shouldn't try whole wheat only. Today I made a bread 200g white and 300g whole grain and the machine sounded like it was struggling already, hehe.
  • I found an interesting website and I though I have to share this with you: http://www.videojug.com/tag/sports-and-fitness I've checked yoga and pilates and those movies look quite professional and useful. Perfect if you are looking for exercise ideas. :flowerforyou:
  • Did I say it has to be healthy? Hehe, just ignore it  I'd love to try all kinds of healthy and unhealthy bread in the world! I love all kinds of pasta and bread
  • Sounds spicy! I think I may want to try it. Thanks :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you :flowerforyou: I'll try this one. In my book there's only normal pizza dough, not whole wheat... I guess I have to take some whole grain flour instead of regular one and that should probably work.
  • Hi, I bought a bread machine few days ago and I'm looking for healthy and tasty ideas  Now I'm baking about twice a day, each time with different recipe and make my family eat all that  I found only this on our forum: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/8294-the-good-bread?hl=bread+machine#posts-58392 Any…
  • There's nothing bad in rice, IMO. Did you try brown rice? It's healthier.
  • I'd definitely try some carrot cake (yumm!). You can cut some of them and just put into freezer in small bags. Then it's easier and faster to put them in whatever you are cooking.
  • Things you could take with you: Juices (fruits and veggies) Smoothies Yogurts with piece of bread Apples or other whole fruits can stay in room temperature for a while Cereals and small bottles of milk Some kind of sandwiches If you have access to a fridge choice is much bigger  Good luck :flowerforyou:
  • Haha, that's why I turned off ALL sounds in my HRM  You probably have sth like "hr alarm" and "sounds" (that's how it is in my polar). Good job! Climbing mountain is a great feeling. For me it's really close to yoga sometimes, almost like meditation. :flowerforyou:
  • I'm not sure. Some time ago I changed my weight to see if exercise calories change and they didn't... Let's test it: my current weight in MFP is 139, 60minutes of "swimming, sidestroke, general" is 505 calories. Can anyone with different weight check this one?
