  • My left knee gives me problems sometimes, usually during high-impact exercises. When it does, I throw on one of those Ace knee braces - seems to help.
  • Yes! A picture of me with my brother & sister at my nephew's wedding is the reason I started my weight loss. I still look at it every once in a while to keep myself on track.
  • That in itself is very motivational. . . to me at least :)
  • I have tried both C4 and Muscle Pharm's Assault. I liked the taste of C4 better, but honestly, I didn't notice much of a boost from either one to justify the cost. I workout first thing in the morning and have since been using just an energy drink mix in my water. You may not want to do this though due to the caffeine…
  • +1 on the breathing. After I moved to Colorado I had the same problem the first couple of weeks because of the altitude. Deep breathing and getting more oxygen in helps a lot!
  • I think it depends on your physical makeup. For some people, sleep apnea is caused by putting on weight and in those cases, I'm sure it would go away when the weight comes off. For others (like myself), it is due to the way your body is made up. I have resigned myself to the fact that I will be wearing this mask forever,…
  • I can't stop either! But the habit is getting expensive. Has anyone tried making their own? I've seen many recipes out there, but I don't know how feasible it would be to make a batch and take them to work. . .
  • Yesterday I had my arms up adjusting a picture and my daughter goes "Oh my gosh dad, you have muscles!"
  • I find that once I get warmed up and loose, I feel good enough to get through my lifting session even when I'm still sore from previous days. If you're REALLY sore though, you may want to skip, it all depends on how you feel. ;)
  • You have to wear the chest strap to monitor your heart rate.
  • I've done P90x & P90x3 and IMHO the beauty of those programs is that you can modify every move and 'grow into' the program. You may not be doing 20 unassisted pullups right away (I still can't) but you use a chair or pullup assist band, do pushups on your knees, don't lunge as deep etc.. I thought the original program was…
  • I am addicted to their Cobb Salads! I do lunch there about once a week.
  • Castle Rock checking in!
  • Excellent, I'm glad it worked for you! I agree that the assist band is the best tool for pull-ups. I was using a chair for a while and I think I was getting into a little too much 'foot'. When I switched to the assist band, my form was waaay better and I felt it big time!

  • I kind of put my feet together and 'trap' the assist band between them. It doesn't always come out perfect, but works for the most part. Plus it keeps your mind focused on something other than the actual pull-up and the fact that time seems to slow down!

  • Ok, here's what I did. It may change before I start because honestly, I couldn't remember all of the workouts as I was filling it out.
  • Ugh, tried to post it as text but it was very ugly! I'll figure something out...
  • My 90 days will be complete on Saturday. It sounds like your results are similar to mine. I have noticed significant muscle gains and toning of my problem areas (belly fat & man-boobs). I am going directly into the Elite block next week and then I am going to do a P90X-X3 hybrid that I created. I miss some of the extensive…
  • I'm on my victory week! Doing the Elite Block starting next week. After that, probably a P90X / X3 hybrid.

  • Been dealing with self-control this week myself. Margaritas and queso dip on Sunday and now today, a big lunch for really no reason other than the place was convenient & close. Looks like I'm adding an extra workout tonight when I get home! Serves me right, I feel like I was dogging it in this morning's workout. . .
  • Hahaha!! Never thought about that!
  • I like to Grill mine and then put it in a wrap (Banderita low carb/low fat wheat wrap is my favorite) with some lettuce, tomato & onion and a nice drizzle of Frank's wing sauce (which is very low in calories). Top that off with 3 beers and a basket of fries with extra salt! (yes, I'm kidding)
  • That's to be expected for day one. Look at it this way, you spent 15 minutes bettering yourself, not sitting on the couch. Next time you'll get through 18 minutes and before you know it, you'll be blasting through the 35 minutes and looking for more. I promise!
  • ^This is a great suggestion for those of you that are in between knee push-ups and regular ones.
  • I actually fell for it. I took them for about two months I think. Did not do anything for me that I couldn't accomplish through watching my calories. I think I did better once I got rid of them because I wasn't relying on the pill to do anything. No more magic pills for me!!
  • I think the transition week is supposed to be kind of a recovery/light week anyhow. It sounds to me like your busy week came at just about the perfect time. If I were you I would probably just continue on with the start of the next block when it's time.
  • I only count the calories used during the workout too. I don't plan on changing that, however it IS interesting that your heart rate didn't return to normal until an hour & a half later. Maybe I'll leave mine on sometime and see how long it takes mine to return to normal resting rate.
  • I think I am going to do another round. I may try the mass schedule next depending on the results of block 3. I still have some belly fat & love handles I'd like to see gone.
  • West side, Lewis & Laskey area, then across the river to Oregon in about 2003.
  • Well not sure if this is interesting or not, but here goes... 44yrs old 1) I am a musician (guitar player) and love nothing more than playing live! 2) I have lived in 3 states in the last 4 years (Toledo, OH (born & raised), Dubuque, IA, and now live in the Denver, CO area. 3) I love the mountains and scenery that Colorado…
