  • That sounds about right. More fats but they are the good fats like EVOO and wild caught fish. Thanks! rjm
  • Which one? I know there's the giant database of foods, but is their one for specific dietary choices? rjm
  • I don't run on hard surfaces. I have bone and joint problems so I run on a rebounder. I keep track of it through my phone and watch apps and also use a vertical jump measuring device that also gives wattage. I also use an indoor recumbent bike with all my sensors going. My intervals measure resistance rather than speed.…
  • That happened until recently. Now I get no credit for steps at all. They really need to get this worked out.
  • This is very true. It's not silly at all. After moderately vigorous cardio, that runners' high. From reading, it seems dopamine is the the most important chemical unleashed by working out. The only problem is when someone is in a severe crisis. It's probably best to seek help than anything else.
  • I sure wish I could get rid of the beta blocker, but even a few hours into the day, and heart rate starts pounding. My endocrinologist wants me to see a cardiologist. I had SVT and an ablation when I was much younger. I thought I was cured. The weight gain is a major drag: it stifles motivation. I hope they can change the…
  • HI! I could use an accountabilabuddy! My weight shot up after they prescribed a beta block for a heart rate issue. I gained a LOT of weight and I'm not happy about it. Fortunately, I can hide it, but it's dangerous. I need to lose and maintain. rjm
  • Hello! Best, Robin
  • I use Map My Fitness. Sometimes you need to self-evaluate your RPE, your HR moniter, and then choose the closest choice. Sometimes, when I do the laundry, the exertion of the activities really get you to break a sweat, do stoop labor, and your heart rate goes up at least to the fat burning zone or higher. Since there is no…
  • Very true with wine/champagne. (Beer acts like a starch, apparently - even near beer.) On New Year's Eve, I have a few sips of champagne and then I take my blood at bedtime and it's suddenly quite low. And just a tiny, tiny bit for ringing in the New Year. I have no idea about hard liquor. Thanks for the information. Best,…
  • Hi, Type 2 I have two lancing kits, one for upstairs - fasting and bedtime, one for downstairs for random tests. I'm waiting on my new lancet to replace my broken one upstairs. The needle cap got lost or thrown out accidentally.I am doing it anyway, and it hurts. I wanted a new Bluetooth meter but my pharmacist turned me…
  • Sorry. I left out the link to this unusual type of power meter. Since rebounding is human-powered, the power meter SHOULD be on your body. There are several options, but this seems quite interesting. The Tickr X and Tickr Run also has 3D data but I have not been successful on the rebounder with them. So I just use an HR…
  • For the most accurate results, use a foot-based powermeter. This one is about 500 bucks, which is actually reasonable for power meters. Other options include getting the Tickr X heart rate strap to grab a variety of 3D stats as well as personalized HR zones. I can't see how .0643 can account for every workout from light…
  • Water and plain yogurt (with fresh fruit in the yogurt). The fruit are complex carbs, yogurt is protein, and you must be hydrated before any sweaty activity. I have that no matter what I have to do before breakfast. That's my pre-airport nutrition, for instance. And believe me, that's a workout! Cardio and strength, both!…
  • Yes, with just a Withings scale, you can collect a lot of other data. Highly recommended for MFP users. And the original Pebble is still better than most other battery guzzlers. (The new Pebble 2 and Time both look terrific. But I will have to find someone who wants mine and wishes to barter for it.) Oh, the Pebble 4.x…
  • It's not known for its accuracy. I should go back to Google Fit which is fed by Pebble Health. Withings is good, too.
  • It's working now. But sometimes it doubles up.
  • Hi, I have been on Inderal since January for Atypical Sinus Tachycardia. My weight loss, which I worked long and hard to achieve for good health, has not only evaporated but has gone up! I am now about 5-10 pounds above starting weight way back in 2013. It's so dispiriting that I haven't changed the batteries on my Wahoo…
  • Thank You. Best, Robin
  • That didn't help. I can't even find an app that WILL sync right now. I have a Pebble Time so I have a wide choice plus just my phone. Nothing is syncing.
  • Hellllloooooo?? I tried everything and I get no steps. I think an uninstall and reinstall of MFP is possibly the only solution. We'll see. rjm
  • That it's at home, and the great outdoors are my front yard. I have an old Weslo stationary bike that runs on 4 D batteries and a new Rebounder that runs on *my* calories! And steps away from my door is a major regional park with bike rentals and lots of hiking trails. We have awesome and comfortable shower facilities! And…
  • Over 10,000 Misfit steps and "0" credit!
  • Well, I have a Pebble and I am making Misfit my tracker again. I feel bad for those who purchased an UP band; their money should be refunded. I gave Jawbone a second chance but no go. Food is not showing at all, and steps are incorrect. As I said, most folks here actually purchased the UP band. This is a serious consumer…
  • Absolutely. But sometimes a Web sync really kicks it in when the apps won't. It should not be hiccupping when they are the same company now. It's doing better now, but it sometimes misses workouts. And if you add it manually, your other hubs double the calories. Thank you! Best, Robin
  • I bought a Pebble Time and a dedicated heart rate strap (polar H7). You then have a great variety of choices with only two pieces of tracking equipment. (I also added a Withings scale.) All the best, Robin
  • Yes, Google Fit is finally working well and now this happens. I have a,Pebble Time and can have all these trackers running. And MFP isn't generally picking up the data. Not even in the Under Armour Record. I don't why they are having such difficulties.
  • Thanks.
  • Today I got over 4000 steps as measured by several different major tracking apps on my Pebble Time sync'ed to my phone and MFP gave me 39 steps. MFP is now in the Under Armour family but that count is not reflected either. They need to look into this! :( Best, Robin
