i think there are a ton of factors jacking you up here. for me personally, i recently realized i eat a LOT out of boredom, or habit. im not currently working, so i tend to feel hungry throughout the day, but when i actually focus on that hunger it kind of goes away because im consciously thinking about how i just ate a few…

yeah that makes total sense... i actually walk to the gym and jog back so i'll probably just tack on 10 min of walking or something to allow that extra bit of calories without being too significant.

im still working at it myself, but from my countless hours of research it seems that strength training is much better for the long term. not only does it boost your resting metabolic rate, but once the fat begins to disappear you'll end up looking much better overall. personally i say focus on weights, and use cardio for…

this is nearly the exact diet i've been going with to cut calories. 2 eggs in the morning, generic diet shake during lunch (i work at a call center so i barely get any activity in), and chicken/veggie soup for dinner, all home made. i only logged the calories once just to check and it was about 1300 total. it may seem high…

i get that motivation is key here, but i dont really think cheap comments are all that inspiring. you should really be doing this for yourself, who cares if random people on the site say anything? they cant truly see the progress you've made. now, real life friends and family saying something is a totally different story.…

yeah i've made a few threads to get my eating habit down so im pretty comfortable with my intake. i just want to be sure im not maybe doing too much too fast or anything.

im with you in this. i get off work at midnight so i end up at the gym around 1-2AM. i dont have a solid answer for you since i just joined up actually, but im not worried about it. just looking at the raw numbers it really shouldnt matter. just be sure to eat right too!

alright well i put everything together and it looks like the way i've been eating will actually allow for me to eat another portion, similar to what i have been eating. so thats perfect. and if the time doesnt really matter then i'll just go for it! should be enough to get me to sleep. thanks for all the quick replies and…

omg i didnt know there was a recipe builder... this will DEFINITELY help!

haha with restaurants i always just typed in the name and it always had what i was looking for. im actually pretty new to cooking so the majority of the stuff i make doesnt really have a specific name.. just stuff i threw together without any real measurements or recipes. me cooking is pretty much "that looks like enough…

what my eating schedule right now is generally: 9 to 11am - breakfast 2pm - lunch 7pm - dinner (during break) arrive home at around 12:30am each meal is honestly pretty small, like a 2 egg omelet for breakfast and lunch and dinner will be about a small plate full of rice, chicken and mixed veggies (i'd estimate 2 cups…

thanks for the tip. ironically those were my original go-to's since they were simple. even in moderation i didnt notice any change so that makes sense. haha live and learn right?

sorry for the bump, but i tried the microwave stuff for about a week and didnt really see any results. but then i started cooking low complexity meals (spaghetti, chicken tacos, omelets) and i've actually lost 4 pounds since two weeks ago! i may not be making the best decisions like using fresh fruit and vegetables…

well i started out trying a few things, like chicken breast for instance and totally burnt the outside and the inside was still frozen solid. cooking longer or trying to eat it anyways would have been a health risk plus it was a total waste. on the other hand, i've been "successful" at other things (not really, but it was…

lots of good ideas here. im thinking i'll start with the lean cuisine and fruits and veggies for a bit, then try a slow cooker. eventually im sure i'll get adventurous enough to try some easy meals, but i'll wait on that for a little bit just to be safe.

thanks i'll definitely look into these! i use my phone to listen to music while jogging so and app seems like a no brainer, not sure why i didnt think of that before. and @ helen, im im 230 pounds right now and not in good shape at all. i've been doing any other kind of exercise to avoid running, but i figured its the best…

congrats on taking this step! go over to the nutrition side for some recipes im sure they'll help you out.

lifestyle change indeed. im a big gamer too so it'll be hard to motivate yourself, but once you get a routine going you'll be able to make the right call easier and easier each time. i actually just joined a few days ago and havent turned on my console once since then, but i end up exercising multiple times a day instead.…

alright thanks for the replies. i'll hit the 25s a bit harder and more consistently until im more comfortable to move up, and go from there.

thats exactly what i did. i dont see any shame in having yourself exposed on a fitness site. im using it as motivation and eventually, i'll be able to put my success pics up instead for motivation. people arent here to judge us.
