  • Depends on how the goals were setup. If you set your activity level to slightly active because you walk every day and then eat back the calories from those walks you are double dipping. At most I only eat back 1/2 my exercise calories because: 1) I realize it's challenging to to be perfectly exact in entering intake…
  • Marvel went ahead and posted the official trailer on youtube after the leak. Much better quality: http://youtu.be/tmeOjFno6Do
  • People say a calorie is a calorie... not 9 calories = 4 calories or 1 gram of fat = 1 gram of protein.
  • Not true: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ppsoflo/teens-seeking-abortion-services-32356.htm In fact in 2004 FL passed a constitutional amendment requiring parental notification.
  • You don't read very well. I made no comment on the validity of this specific study. I commented on your very generalized statement "Humans=/= Rats" Since you obviously have not read the study (based on you not knowing the protocol's they used) my assumption was that you were automatically dismissing the results of the…
  • Human nutritional studies are completely unreliable because the variables cannot be controlled. So they tend to rely on food diaries and surveys. Mice and rats have been used for 100s of years for research. Dismissing any study because it used animals shows a complete lack of understanding of science and research. Here is…
  • I have no idea if aspartame or other sweeteners are unhealthy. There is certainly an irrational fear of anything artificial. However... don't be so quick to trust 'studies' and 'facts' claiming to prove them safe either. Otherwise history might repeat itself: http://cebp.aacrjournals.org/content/16/6/1070.full You might…
  • Phase I - Fruits, complex carbs, exercise phase ii - Add more veggies and protein and exercise phase ii - Add more healthy fats and exercise. Snacks should be fruits, veggies and protein. A million posts on MFP have said if you eat smarter and healthier and move more you will loss weight ... and that information doesn't…
  • Its a year old. It's making the rounds again ( I remember it the 1st tie ) because of the Zimmerman trail. There is not much to appeal on. The husband said she shot at him. The prosecution went with that version even though he admitted he hit all 5 of his 'baby mommas'. The jury believed him even though she had a…
  • Beer. Clean your mouth out with a drink before each bite of pizza. If you are eating extremely clean do it both before and after a bite.
  • Sprouts pepperoni... larger with no preservatives to make them healthier. ( jk ) That crust looks a little thicker then normal so it might be a mere 9 inches.... the picture was taken before I learned how to toss a smaller crust.
  • 10 inches of perfection every week... sometimes twice a week. And I drink beer all the time. And I've consistently lost 1 to 1 1/2 pounds per week. And the daily exercise and lifting schedule seems to have helped me keep my lbm. Can't wait until I hit my maintenance and start serious lifting and have to increase my…
  • When you join MFP you are setting up (usually) a goal of how much you want to lose per week. MFP translates that goal into a needed calorie deficit per week.... -3500 calories per pound. Since MFP tracks calories per day its daily goal is the weekly deficit divided by 7. If you use the recommended 1 pound per week weight…
  • I'm actually on my last night at Disneyland. 3 nights on the beach at Carlsbad, CA and 3 nights at Disneyland. Disneyland was great as usual. We've been a lot over the last 5-10 years so it was getting a little routine. This trip I decided to film every show big and small for my website which turned out to be fun. There…
  • I got a used Livestrong 10e for $500 from craigslist. Few bells and whistles but it suits our needs. I also was concerned about spending over $1000 after reading reviews which is way I went used. If it only lasts a year or so I won't feel I've wasted my money.
  • 3 Light beers or 2 real ones. However I would likely leave it. I have my goal set to 1 lb/week which is a 500 cal deficit. So 500 either way is fine with me. If I have a lot of exercise cals I would leave it for sure... I feel that they tend to be overstated a little.
  • Money. Telling people to eat less junk, less processed food and to cut down on carbs and sugar does not make anyone money. Coming out with a new diet with 'scientific proof' makes a lot of people a lot of money.
  • I just put in my number... 6 figures (so no subsidy) and single with no kids and the result I got back was: $3,018 yearly for the bronze plan and $2,501 for the silver plan. I'm not sure where you got your numbers. And if you already have insurance you don't have to go through the exchanges. And yes high deductible plans…
  • Can't believe I went and looked it up: http://lingerie.about.com/od/FitGuide/a/What-Bra-Sizes-Mean.htm Some quotes from the article: "It's a common misconception to think that all B cups -- or any letter -- are the same size. They're not. A bra's cup size is relative to its band size. "Bras that are sizes 32B and a 34B…
  • So basically if you eat less and move more and take a pill you'll lose weight. And if you eat less and move more and not take a pill you'll also lose weight.
  • Topics like these are stupid. If I say steel weighs more then feathers I am not claiming a 1 pound of steel weighs more then 1 pound of feathers... I am saying by volume steel is heavier then feathers. When people here say muscle weighs more the fat... they are not saying 1 pound of muscle weighs more then 1 pound of fat..…
  • She's logging her exercise separately so she shouldn't count it when she sets her activity level.
  • Daily weighers. I was under my goal today but will weigh 1-2 pounds more tomorrow. Chipotle, 4 beers and lack of sleep will do that. But I know it'll adjust in a day or 2 and I'll have a day when I drop 1-2 pounds.
  • Just wanted to mention... the OP was not the person with the goal of 600 calories per day...that was another poster. The OP hit the typical 1200/day setting and started exercising on top of that without always eating them back.
  • fat2fitradio.com (it has a BF% calculator there also) calculates your TDEE (before exercise) at 2100. MFP likely calculated about the same TDEE. Set your MFP goal to 1.5 lb/week. It will tell you to eat 1350 calories/day. Anywhere between 1300-1500 is likely fine and you'll still loose weight. You have to eat back your…
  • If you are willing to give out your stats... weight, height, BF% (if you've calculated it) activity level ( before exercise ) people here will be more then happy to run the stats through the calculators and help figure out what your daily calorie goal should be.
  • My MFP goal is now to be King... at least the late night king. OP.. your doing a lot right. Seem to be eating decently... exercising. Just not eating enough. Change your goal to 1 lb a week. Try to get better exercise logging.. maybe get a heart rate monitor. Trust MFP and eat what it says you should.. Plenty of healthy…
  • My dogs eat more then she does... in one meal. In fact I might end up drinking back my calories tonight since I have 400 extra which will be more then she eats in a day.
