I don't have a cheat day per se, but I do have days where I blow over (sometimes by a lot), but I've found that it always ends up evening out for my weekly total, it's just that one day I might be under by 300, but the next day I'm over 300. But I don't go over my total for the week. But I don't really sweat it if I'm over…

By the time I'm in my mid-forties, I will have teen daughters, so no, I can't imagine fishing from the same dating pool as my daughters! I would not go more than a few years younger (or older) than me.

I read whatever advice I could find on these forums, then youtubed videos so I could see what the proper form for these exercises looks like, and then practiced (without the weight, just the bar) while checking in a mirror to make sure I was doing it right. Once I had the form down, then I started adding weights. I bought…

As a former gymnast, I was never, ever "bulky" LOL. I was very lean, and still am (minus a "fat phase" that lasted a few years). It's also just my body build, but my short, lean, small-framed body lent itself well to the sport. I am actually thinking about bulking. I am underweight, and even though I eat back my exercise…

You don't need weight loss help, you need a therapist. You're suicidal over 5 lbs. Please tell a parent or someone you trust about how you feel, so you can get some help for the way you're feeling right now.

^^^ THIS! Go to a running store and get fitted. This is the best way to determine what shoe will work best for you.

Brooks are worth the money! They are the only shoes that don't give me "runner's knee", and they literally saved me from $1700 worth of physical therapy. (If you're a moderate to severe overpronator, I recommend the Adrenaline series) I LOVE Brooks, I love them so, so hard.

My hips measure +12 inches larger than my chest. My *kitten* is the gift that keeps on giving. Plus, my (small) boobs are still perky and look exactly the same as they did when I was 16 as they do now at age 30 (and even after kids). I don't have a single large-busted friend who can say that, and honestly, gravity is not…

It took me 2 years to lose 30 lbs. 50 days to lose the same amount is NOT slow. Two years is slow.

When you start becoming physically fit, the way you see your body changes. You no longer view it as decorative, you start to see how incredibly FUNCTIONAL your body is, and then you realize who cares if your boobs are small; you just lifted x lbs. or ran x miles! I'm a 28AA. I used to be a gymnast, and I would say it's…

Nice run! I found that once I could beat that 3 mile barrier, I was just HOOKED on running. That, for me, was my defining milestone. I did my first 5K a couple months ago, and the feeling of crossing that finish line was just amazing.
-
That is a LOT of progress! Congratulations! I mean, 75 lbs is something you should be VERY proud of! I'm rooting for you! ^_^

My goal is to run 10K in less than an hour. I can do it... barely. For me, I think that's a "good time", but some faster, more seasoned runners might consider that barely a workout! It's just going to be kind of subjective depending on fitness level, experience, etc. Generally, for official races, as long as my finish time…

I burn, according to calculators, HRM, etc. about 75 or 76 calories per mile I run. That's utterly depressing. One serving of gummy bears is 140 calories. Jesus, I only burn off 9 gummy bears per MILE I RUN. 9 freakin' gummy bears. Per mile. That I RUN. (I suppose the obvious answer is to stop eating so many gummy bears...…

Just read your latest responses, and I'm also working on gaining muscle! (I swear it's harder for us petite people) Your projected "maintenace" calories are about the same as mine (1700ish), LOL (though, I suppose it would be, right?)
-
I'm also 5'3 and a size 0. I'm very, very small framed (even compared to other small-framed people). I'm 106 lbs, and my body fat percentage is (very recently) 18%! I eat a bare minimum of 1460 calories per day, on sedentary totally lazy days where I literally only leave my desk to go pee. Most days I'm at 1700-1800, and…

In my profile pic I'm at about 20%. In my most recent pic which I just took today (if you look in my profile pics, it's the black and white one with the caption making a joke about being "bulky"), I'm at slightly under 18%. ^_^

It's a very noticeable difference, you look so much younger too :) Keep it up, you'll get there!

[/URL] Edited to say: Dang it, it's huge! But anyway, I'm a beginner lifter ("heavy" lifting for me is probably not that heavy for some of the hotties on here!), and it's obviously turning me into the She-Hulk.

Oooh, ooooh, I want to show off my "bulky" body too! How do I post a pic? (From Photobucket?)

You look fantastic, and I love your dress!
-
First off, you look fantastic! I was shocked and re-read it just to make sure you really meant ONLY FIFTEEN LBS because it looks like a lot more than that. You could have said you lost 30 and I'd have believed it. I'm also 5'3, so I understand that even a little bit of extra weight looks worse on us shorties than a taller…

Well, she has bigger tits than I do. Even when I was overweight, my breasts were the same size as they are now that my body fat percentage is in the "athletic" range (a AA cup, which is training bra size). I simply do not store fat there, nor do I have a lot of breast tissue there. I am flat. Hell, compared to me, Miss USA…

I'm a pear shape too. I have struggled with accepting my body for so long. Oh so long. But unlike you, I don't even have a nice full bust to counter balance my bottom. I'm a 28AA (think 12 year old girl buying her first training bra). My waist is 24, hips are 34. But, I saw recent pictures of myself from running my first…

I somehow end up being everyone's shoulder to cry on. Have a relationship problem? I'm the person you turn to, apparently. And I've always been the Peace Keeper. When people get all pissed at each other, I end up moderating and getting everyone on good terms again. It's freakin' annoying. (I blame the fact that I'm a…

I have found because my calorie burns vary so much, that it helps me to just eat when I'm hungry, and stop when I'm not. That means that some days I go over, some days I go under. But, I'm very regular with my workouts, so I know if I go over one day, that I WILL make it up for it when I hit the gym or the running trail. I…

I prefer running outdoors, definitely. If it's really really downpouring, and I go on the treadmill, I just make sure I have something to watch on TV, or pick a lot of fun songs and really crank the music and get lost in it. Mostly I just tell myself to get through it. I can't stand running on a treadmill anymore since I…

I'm 5'3" and one of my big goals was to gain more "tone" and muscle definition. I have actually gained 8 lbs, but my waist is 1.5" smaller and my hips are 1" smaller. I'm actually thinner than before. What made the difference for me to actually start seeing my abdominal muscles is heavy weight lifting. I'd still like to…

I started in Jan, joined MFP in Feb... and I remember I saw somewhere, "A year from now, you'll wish you had started today." And everyday, I think about how great it'll be next January, when I am in the best shape of my life, and the only person I know to have actually stuck with their new year's goals, LOL
-
I'm 5'3", and when I was SEDENTARY (i.e. desk job, not working out AT ALL), I needed 1400-1500 calories per day. So 1600 doesn't seem like a lot to me. And you're actually working out too, unlike me (I work out NOW, but I didn't for a long time). I think it's a good number to start at and see what works for you. You can…
