I'm crazy-proud of you, brother.

Nothing the slightest bit conceited about it. Glad to see you basking in some well-earned confidence. Great job!

Proud of you! I see you on here doing your work, and now you're getting the rewards you've earned.

Definitely still see myself as fat even though I'm only 10 pounds from goal. My history is that when I was in my early 20's, I weighed 230 at my highest. I made friends with a runner who got me started by showing me that if I went slowly enough (like 14 minute miles-- barely a shuffle) I could go much further than I would…

You amazing physical transformation has been well-covered, and I have little more to add except one more heartfelt "Congatulations!" To me, though, the most striking thing is your attitude. There's something about your unflinching self image, broad perspective, and intolerance for BS that imply a mental fortitude that's…

Main thing is that you're back on it TODAY. And you're looking great!

What an amazingly uplifting and inspiring story! Sharing your thoughts and photos will inspire and motivate more people than you might know. Well done!

Being down 26 pounds and able to run a 5k makes 2013 a pretty good year, in my opinion. You have every right to be thrilled-- well done!

I guess all mine are long-term, though easily achievable in 2014: * Get below 180# and stay there until I'm placed in a cheap pine box and pushed feet-first into the furnace * Disabuse myself of the notion that I need to drink a bomber of beer each evening (twice a week is fine) * Learn to enjoy strength training as much…

I'm trying real hard to see anything wrong with losing 30 pounds in 5 months. The improvement is obvious and you're looking great!

Rough week last week, and I'm just not making it happen. We went to Montana for a nieces graduation (hadn't been to a college party in way to many years) and we're in the process of moving. I haven't gained any but I'm certainly not moving toward the goal either.

OK, late to the party, but I'm in: 1. break 190 by May 31 2. resistance training 3 days/week, even if it's just body weight 3. win the lottery

Gentlemen, Nice to see folks working hard on here, setting goals and persevering even when it's not that easy. Nice to see I'm not the only one who's experienced the paradox of eating more and losing more. Extra nice to see a couple of other Harley guys :-) I had a challenging couple of weeks diet-wise due to spending 10…

Let's say you have this friend who has a drinking problem. She is a solid, good good person, but for whatever reason she overindulges, and it's taken its toll on her health, relationships, and self esteem. At some point she digs deep and faces it head on. She throttles waaay back on the behaviors that have made her…

It's true that there may be a few at the gym who might look at you and think that. But you'll be pleasantly surprised at how few there are-- most people don't run into this at all. And there may be a cynical few who notice you and will wonder if you'll hang in there and stick with it. But again, there will only be a few,…

The only thing I'll add to the chorus of clear-headed people counselling that you cut your losses is this: thank God you discovered his true colors are BEFORE you married him. There are plenty of good-hearted guys who will love you for who you are, who will encourage you to be better, and stand by you when life it tough.…

I have them too. They get worse when I'm heavier and better when I'm thinner, but never quite gone and I hate it. In fact this was the impetus for me getting back on MFP recently: I had a picture taken of me and an old friend while playing golf down in Arizona. I was turned just right to project a pointy little bump on my…

Amazing! I was just heading out for a run and thought I'd have a quick peek at "Success Stories" before heading out. Awesome to have such a great inspiration to take out the door with me. Nice work!
