I am 5'3", currently around 130 llbs, and eat about 1700cals/day. Like you, I ate around 1200 cals/day (I was previously on Weight Watchers). Although the weight did initially come off, I hit a giant plateau and was craaaaaankyyyyy! I got fed up, found MFP and quit WW. I started on their recommended 1200 cals/day but still…

I hit the gym 4-5 days a week. I start with cardio, running on the treadmill for 30-60 minutes. If my legs are burning, I tend to take it easy and go on the elliptical for 30 minutes. I then do about half an hour of weights, switching from upper and lower body. I add in abs on my upper body days. I wouldn't worry about…

You look great!!! Congratulations!

Yuck. Stop talking to those people about your weight loss. Soon those "lets see how long it lasts" comments will turn into "wow, how did you do it??".

Eat your TDEE minus 20-10%. 20% if you have more to lose, 10% if you have a little to lose.

^^^^^^^ Definitely this! ^^^^^^^

Lovin' all the awesomeness!!!

There are a few sites you can visit to find out your TDEE and BMR. I personally went to about 5 and used the average. I know a favorite with MFP users scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Using this site, and based on a a lifestyle of light exercise, your BMR is 1579 and TDEE is 2171. Minus 20%, your TDEE is 1737. You…

Ok, we need a little more information... Age? Gender? Height? Weight? Also, if you open your diary that will help too.

I workout whenever I can make it work! I do find that I'm pretty groggy in the morning, so I prefer late afternoon workouts. I will go straight to the gym after work because if I go home first I can find many excuses not to go back out. I have to be flexible since I work shift work though. I wish I could have a routine!

^^^ I did the 1200 cal/day thing for a while... sure I initially lost weight, then I hit a major plateau, and boy was I cranky (my poor husband!). I read a lot about what I should actually be eating based on my BMR and TDEE. Once I increased my caloric intake, the weight started to come off again! Even better, I'm not…

So stick with jumping rope. Who said you have to run? There are plenty of other cardio options that wont make you want to shoot yourself. But just so you know, the running thing will get easier. Give it time.

My best advice to have patience! You lost a pound in a week, whooohooo!!! Don't get discouraged, keep going. If you consistently lose 1 pound a week for the next 10 weeks, guess what? You're 10 pound lighter! I know we all want the weight off right this second, but it didn't take a week to put it on, so why would it take a…

^ This. I also took up running, which helped some. I am still a pear, just a smaller one now. Honestly, a calorie deficit is probably the biggest part - the weight just needs to come off from that spot. I feel your pain, I always feel like its the last place I lose weight and the first place I put it on. :grumble:

Eating is my weakness! I love exercise, everything about it. Sweating and feeling sore the next day makes me feel great! My problem is that I want to eat all the time. It's not always "unhealthy" stuff, but I can easily go over my daily caloric intake. :embarassed:

BUMP!

I'm only squatting 75 lbs. I just moved over to the rack, so I'm fairly new at it. I tried starting with 85 lbs, but I could feel it mostly in my lower back so I knew it must have been too heavy and I had poor form. Dropping down 10 lbs made a huge difference. Does anyone know how often you should increase your weight?
-
 I had to read that 4 times....
-
I know you're only interesting in what people pay in the States, but I can't help but comment. PTs run bout $75/hr in Canada (the city I live in, anyways)! I WISH i could find one for $25! You're so lucky!!

Lentils and quinoa.

I personally don't think this was arrogant or cocky. It was exactly what I needed to read. Thank you.

If it's important to you, you'll find a way, if it's not, you'll find an excuse.
-
Probably... but I'm not a fan of combining weights and the treadmill. I like to keep them separate. Have you tried increasing your incline?
-
Interesting!

42?!? I guess I have some work to do....

I began to weigh and measure all my food. It has made a huge difference!
