I'm due March 18th, but I'm not-so-secretly hoping for a St. Patty's Day baby. :) We're waiting to find out the gender, which adds to the excitement for us. Good luck, ladies!

Thanks for the tips- I'll be sure to try icing down my poor ol' knees after longer runs.

Hey there! Please feel free to add me, as well. I'm 33 and live in Saint Louis. I'm currently training for a half-marathon in April and am working hard to incorporate weight training into my fitness routine. Looking for friends around my age to keep me accountable.

Your quote about food rewards being better suited for dogs is hilarious! I struggle with snacking out of boredom or evening snacking while watching tv. I found a tactic that seems to work for me- I keep carrot slices in the fridge for when I'm snacky but not truly hungry. I know it's not a long term fix to curb overeating,…

Dang, girl! Congratulations!! You look amazing and you're an inspiration!

Girl...you are not alone in the jean minefield! Your post cracked me up! Good luck with getting back into your goal jean size!

How awesome! You should be very proud of your hard work!

Have you had your gait evaluated by a specialist? They may be able to recommend a specific shoe/insert combination based on your personal running style and any physical concerns you may have. I went to a local running store, Big River Running Co, and it made a world of difference. They watched me walk, we discussed my…

What an amazing accomplishment! Way to go!

You may want to adjust your weight loss goal to 1 lb/week or even .5 lb/week. This will give you a better feel for how satiated you are with a higher caloric intake. Also, are you tracking your physical exercise on MFP, as well? I think it's important to eat back a large portion, if not all, of your exercise calories. I…

Just sent you a FR, too.

Thank you for responding. I'm so ready to run outside, but am resigned to running indoors until the trails are free of ice/snow. I trained for a half marathon last summer and it was so much easier to stay engaged for long runs when running outside. I have had a tough time logging longer runs on the treadmill this time…

Congrats! You're very inspiring! :)

Thanks, everyone! I'll recommend that to my husband. Appreciate your advice!

I'll try replacing the battery and see how that works. I'll look into one of the other brands if this one is past saving. Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your help!

I've had it for about 2 years. It's not covered by the manufacturer's warranty any more.

OP- good for you! My proud moment of the day was during my lunch time run. I started my run by selecting a hill program and entered in a 40 minute time frame. But then I remembered that I planned on working on speed intervals, so I started over with just a regular set up. Toward the end of my run, I was so close to hitting…

I can definitely see a difference! You're doing an amazing job- way to go!

I would love the join this challenge! I know I'm late to the game, but I really do want to give it my all for the remaining time and be held accountable through this challenge! I have been on MFP for a long time, but have been very sporadic with tracking my calories and exercise. I'm ready to change all that. :)

Hey there! I had asked a similar question a while back and received the following link on the boards: See this link for a good explanation: http://www.sparkpeople.com/community/ask_the_experts.asp?q=75 I found this very helpful in figuring out how accurate my HRM is when tracking various activities, especially weight…

I'm pregnant with my first kiddo and due on August 19th. I have an appointment with my OBGYN for early January. Very excited! Initially, I was hoping to conceive in February to lock down an October due date (it's my favorite month, by far), but now I'm thrilled to have an earlier due date so I can enjoy my favorite…

I went through this, too! I completed my first half marathon in mid-October and felt lost immediately aftewards. I slacked off on running, barely mustering 12 miles in the next month. The entire month! I finally signed up for another half marathon in April. It turns out that having a goal in mind is crucial for training…

Talk about good timing! I ran 10 miles a couple of weeks ago and ended my run with a pat on the back as well as 3-4 blisters on my right foot (including a mean looking blood blister on the side of my big toe). I came across this post earlier in the week and adopted some of the recommendations (including antiperspirant and…
