Good on you mate - excellent work. 5x5 is great too, you'll love it.

Thanks for posting. The biggest truth that people will find anything to ignore: calories in vs calories out. The woman in the second video seems really intelligent and on the ball and genuinely surprised by the reporting. Most people are simply not aware of what is going into their bodies and over time their markers for…

Your HRM should be accurate-ish on any aerobic exercise with significantly raised heart rate if you entered your details (and updated as your stats change). I use both HRM and RunKeeper (GPS app) for jogs and they come in about the same - although the HRM always shows a higher burn. I think this is because it also…

Hello. I'm in Nottingham. Anyone can add me. As long as you're not a plonker :-P

DRINK LIQUID CHLOROPHYLL! My friend says it works..... Great post OP

Joke dude. Pretty sure you'd vomit if you drank oil

Up and Running are great. I've had Asics in the past which have lasted well and am now onto Brooks - very light, very comfortable and have helped me improve distance. Get an App on your phone like RunKeeper and you can set yourself goals and even a training plan to help you get there. And it syncs with MFP.

Drink half a pint of olive oil... Easy to eat the calories you'e burning, just expensive. Might be easier to cut back on the cardio than increase your fuel

I 3rd this. If you want to concentrate on a number, make it your body fat percentage. You will see this drop with heavy lifting and a wholesome intake of lovely food.

Hey! Your basic body functions (function of vital organs, hair and nail growth, etc) will be supported with a certain amount of calories - much more than your 800 calories. Going on your figures, you need 1580 calories just to function (your Basal Met Rate - BMR) and your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) is 2180Kcals…

^ That's my mantra Or just stick to class A drugs. Zero calories, so they have to better for you, right?

Just went to Tesco to buy some coffee and thought I'd have a look for deals. It's appalling. The "Value" shelves were packed with junk food - microwave burgers, cheesestrings, crisps, biscuits, confectionery, cheesecakes - all processed crap. The freezer sales section was the same - all deep fried, ice cream, etc. No fresh…

Atkins works because you monitor what you eat. Because you cut out a major food group, you eat less calories overall and go into deficit. Nothing to do with carbs being fattening. It is a diet. Diets don't work. Much better to use this site, count overall calories and stay in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Then you can…

If you can, use your local greengrocers: you get to know them, they do you deals, the produce is usually from the UK, local and seasonal (so you know it hasn't been in storage for months like the supermarket crap that goes off in two days) and you are supporting the local economy (not sending your cash to Walmart in the…

I think it also promoted a "what is the point" type attitude to an audience that was probably looking for insightful direction in trying to lose weight: BBC (in first 2 minutes): "Hey, Diets don't work, ain't I clever?" Public: "Diets don't work - great - so what should people focus on?" BBC: "No, wait - DIETS DON'T WORK,…

You could try other protein isolates other than whey - like beef protein isolate? You can add the powder (vanilla flavour works best) to oats, bit of honey/maple syrup, apple sauce, cinnamon and dried fruits and bake for 5 mins for protein bars. 400g oats 100g cranberries/raisins/nuts 2 tbsp light peanut butter 10 scoops…

My hosts said they were taking me for sashimi (raw fish) which I love. Didn't realise we'd be eating them still alive (these tentacles had been cut off live octopus and keep wriggling for 30 minutes). On the table next to us they threw a few whole octopus into a boiling soup alive - mental! Actually tasted quite nice, but…

Like the above says, a progressive exercise routine might help - increasing your intensity/speed/weight gradually and frequently. A progressive weight lifting programme like New Rules of Lifting for Women might be interesting for you.

I also ate Octopus in Korea....

I ate ants eggs in Mexico and they were delicious - like fat rice. In Selfridges in the UK you can buy candied scorpions, ants and other creepy crawlies. Food is food - if it can be made to taste nice then why the hell not?

I've got Polar ft4 - does a great job and is picked up by treadmills in my gym etc. I would upgrade next time and get a bluetooth compatible chest strap as you can then use with a load of apps on iphone/android that will sync alongside other data they can capture (distance, speed, elevation, etc) - like Runkeeper, Strada,…

"I'm not drinking tonight, I'm off my face on cocaine" ;)

Think it is pretty accurate - depends on your GPS signal. I've used Strava and miCoach and the distances have all been consistent with them for the same runs. I like the detail you get from RunKeeper.

Hey! This is my 2p's worth: Operate at a significant (but sensible) calorie deficit and you will lose weight - it really is a matter of calories in vs calories out. Make sure you log your food accurately - there is no point guessing weights and measurements as you will get it wrong and with high calorie food that can be…
