Do you drink a lot? I ask because of your picture. I socialize A TON and although I try try to keep my alcohol consumption down, it is an uphill battle, to say the least. Alcohol certainly sabotages my fitness effort. My new year's goal will be to prioritize my social calendar and say no more. Also I am going to make more…

My story-- I was an unhealthy vegetarian for almost 4 years. At the time I was mostly just walking but then I started at a kettlebell gym and just fell flat. I had no stamina and got nauseous at every work out. As a result I signed up with a trainer/nutritionist who put me on a high protein meat based diet. I felt…

I am completely on your side. Move it! Let someone else put it 2" from their face. Geezzzz. Sorry your co-workers are so unsupportive.

the curvy line from Levis is awesome. I bought online based only on reviews and was not disappointed. They are a little pricey but I get compliments and I am happy all the time. http://us.levi.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3146900

weight loss is 90% food. Weight lifting will keep you from getting saggy as you lose though, so you should try to fit that in, even just on the weekends. Start small. Scour this site when you can, you will hopefully learn a lot. There are lots of books to read too. Read Why we get fat and what to do about it by Gary…

Full Definition of LAZY 1 : disinclined to activity or exertion : not energetic or vigorous. You're not lazy! First get that idea out of your head. If you take college classes and are a busy Mom than you're not. Have you read any weight loss self help books? Where are you on your journey? You might need to assess a little…

What a great story! It so nice that you and your wife are a team. Great work !!
-
wonderful and you are rocking that dress. Have a great time at the concert!!

I am in- thank you so much for the motivation. I have been at a stalled weight for 2 months now so if I lose 1lb a week I would be thrilled. my goal = 7lbs down my xmas.

Although I hate to pay for it- SkinnyGirl Pina Colada mix only has like 55 calories per serving. Not sure how they pull that off and I don't like artificial sweeteners but I can compromise if I want to have a sweet drink. Good choice for a Girls night in.

I don't live with family but I feel for you. If I had brownies and candy around I would totally eat it. Occasionally I buy Nutella for my husband but I end up eating half a jar in one sitting! I wish I had an answer. All I can say is ask them to hide the stuff - ideally in a place that you don't know of. Out of sight out…

Attend bootcamp 3-4x a week and eat at or below my daily calorie goals at least 5 days a week (now I am probably at 2 days). Looking forward to kicking it up a notch so I can be in awesome shape by spring!!
-
Thanks for sharing! Super inspired. Please--what does the acronym mean in the description of your workout?
-
$10 for WOW (workout world) and when I sign up for bootcamp it is 3x week for 120-180 month (price fluctuates). Signing up for Nov. $$$ but worth it!

Great reply!

Sounds like you are hungry. When I used to deprive myself my body/mind would eventually rebel and cause me to overeat for all that I had been deprived. Your calorie goal sounds so low to me. I would faint or pass out if I ate that little (at least for now with my weight). What do you weigh and how tall are you?

I am not doing cross fit but I have been cross training in various ways for 5 years. I find myself to be extremely strong and my body comp has changed so much! Things I have done in 5 years- mauy thai, bootcamp, walking, skiing, (CQC) closed quarter combat fitness, weight lifting regimes, krav maga, TaeKwonDo, Capoeira…

welcome! It's an awesome tool- has helped me immensely. I think support is the key to a weight loss journey.

The only thing that works for me is meeting a group of people. I cycle through morning bootcamps and right now I have a running/walking group at work in the mornings. I cannot get there on my own and I learned to not beat myself up about it. Signed, night owl.

awesome work-- so happy for you and thanks for sharing.

Congrats and great topic! Can't wait to be asking the same question.
-
yes, since age 9. Thanks for bringing this topic up. I believe we have certain challenges due to years of negative self image.

Although I still have more to lose, I got rid of the biggest pants for the first time. I used to just put them in a box in the attic. I am finally in a new place mentally and it is wonderful!

I am certainly not an expert but I don't think that not counting would work for a food addict or compulsiev over eater. Maybe but I must throw some caution out to them.
-
zucchini lasagna is in the oven right now. I used Parmesan as the only cheese and loaded it with spinach. Smells great!
-
Not really. My husband is constantly telling me that he likes me the way I am and everyone else says nothing. I was and am pretty horrified whenever I see medical records describing my health which always includes "overweight." It seems like such a horrible thing to put on record and to describe an individual. We are all…

What an awesome idea. Please add me! Where do we post the photos to keep them privte.
