  • I have had success on WW when I had access to meetings and had friends on the program as well. Now that there are no meetings where I live I only have access to WW online and it just isn't the same. I was on MFP a while ago and liked it so I am back to try again. Anyone can add me if they wish. Good Luck
  • For those of us in small towns with zero access to organic items, or access but not within budget I buy the chobani plain fatfree greek. It is the best when adding heat to it. I put it in with my oatmeal in the morning along with fruit.
  • After giving it thought I decided to wean myself off them. The issues I was experiencing were not significant enough for me to continue the HRT. Besides what it may do to my body as far as side effects there was the cost. The monthly cost and having to go back for blood tests regularly to get the perscription renewed. I…
  • I am 6'1 and still have about 70+ pounds to lose. Being tall certainly is different. My best bit of advise to anyone new to any healthy lifestyle is NEVER GIVE UP!
  • What sort of restaurant do you manage? Are there healhy options where you work or even the basics that can be made healthier? IMHO everyone's journey is different and personal but with MFP we can reach out to others to make it easier. I have loved hummus for years. I make my own so that I can control the fat content…
  • Not only will the restraining order(protection order) be a good idea for a paper trail, also journal any contact. Also talk to your local law enforcement for documentation purposes. Not only does this give you more of a paper trail it will allow them to be familiar with you and your situation and maybe better prepared…

  • I cannot speak for anyone else but for ME it is a mental game. When I had mine open to the public it was as if something in the back of my head was refusing to log certain things and be totally honest for fear someone would comment. I realize what others say about MY food shouldn't matter but for me it just made logging…
  • Thanks everyone for the info. I have googled for information but it all gets so overwhelming. What I should do is take my hubby to the gym with me and have him show me what each machine does and have him help me formulate a routine.
  • I am 47 and have been going through menopause for well over a year. I started having symptoms after I had my tubal ligation when my son was born in 2007. I struggle with the flashes, mood swings etc. and it is almost impossible for me to lose. Recently I upped my calories hoping that was the issue. After reading that…
  • Hey there! I am similar. I am 6'1 and currently weigh 283.4. I wear a U.S. size 22. My goal isn't based on the size I wear but on past weights I have been at and how they affect my body. At my current weight I have joint issues as well as mobility issues. I also come from a family history of high bloodpressure and diabetes…
  • I too use stevia in my coffee and I buy the Darigold creamer that is real cream and very low fat. I found that I can use 1/2 tbsp per cup so if I have 2 cups it is 1 serving. I work shift work and have a 5 year old so I rely on coffee!
  • I am 47 as well and have been menopausal for about a year. I had a tubal ligation after having my son when I was 41 and have had issues since then. Back in 2000 I lost 96lbs doing WW and gained most of it back. Since beginning menopause I have had a very hard time losing weight. I have issues with body aches, pains,…
  • omg! That made my day:bigsmile: I just turned 47 today....well yesterday now!
  • My vote is canellini beans. I use them to make hummus instead of chickpeas.
  • I love hummus and make it all the time. In the small town I live in I don't have access to tahini so I make mine without. I have also done a version of hummus with peanut butter to make it more of a dessert type hummus.
  • I love all of the comments! I agree and really can't add anything except that I have been called sir on a few occasions. I step in line at a store and the clerk doesn't look up before starting to say how are you today so automatically because of my height they say sir. They then look up and apologize, by then it's too…
  • I have been reading about BMR and how many calories my body needs to stay at the weight I am, how many it would take for me to lose etc. and find that I am eating fewer calories than it suggests. MFP suggests I eat 1600 and I don't even eat all of that. The BMR site had me at about 2200 calories to lose 1.5lbs a week. I…
  • I am 6'1 and definately a large frame. I always say I am built like a football player. Charts always say my ideal weight is around 182lbs. I haven't been that slim since grade school and I was 5'11" back then.
  • I am 6'1 and currently 290lbs. I haven't been near 200lbs since highschool. My goal I have set for myself is are 210-220. I may adjust that when I get closer we shall see. I have been visiting a message board for tall girls on the weight watchers website. It is very nice to have others that can relate to you! It amuses me…
  • Saving my spot to chime in later:bigsmile:
  • I just used the website suggested and found that I AM indeed NOT eating enough, especially when I actually do all my workouts. Thanks for the website suggestion:bigsmile:
  • Send her on girls night out with my daughter.....Dang I must be to old for this topic:frown:
  • My son sings Usher's version of You'll Be In My Heart as Yogi In My Heart
  • I will share with you advise I was given once that worked for me. For an entire week weigh yourself morning and night so that you can track how you body fluctuates in weight and according to certain foods etc. Then when the week is up choose 1 morning a week to weigh in. For me however it isn't always actual morning…
  • Welcome! I too did the WW thing but quit because of expense and frustration over them constantly changing the system in order to make more money off of the literature etc. I am finding MFP to be very helpful and easy to use. I am learning allot about what I am eating to much of or not enough of. Good Luck, add me if you…
  • Hey Sandra...I too am new to MFP and have allot of weight to lose. I have 2 older children that also are out of the house. I too have always been the type to take care of everyone else first until recently when I decided I am no good to others if I don't put me first! I need to be healthier because I have a 5 year old and…
