  • I read your post to my wife, and we both agree, that you have had an amazing transformation.. and you should be with someone who can mutually help you, to maintain and continue your healthy lifestyle. You need positive reinforcement, and you deserve it... and shame on you if you think you deserve less.
  • Hi Mollywisk obviously, this diet is up to interpretation, you can do you whatever you want, but I've been on this diet for a while, and from postings and what I've read, it seems the following are the consensus. almonds = domino food... you should avoid cottage cheese = only eat it if you can no longer avoid dairy,…
  • To all myfitnesspal folks on this diet with me... I'll repost what I saw on another site regarding Tim's new cookbook... I took the plunge and ordered the larger cookbook, since I don't think I'm changing my diet anytime soon. I also figure Tim's "seal of approval" is on them since he took the time to collect these from…
  • only time with better foods cleanse your body... with that said, if you'd like to give your body a natural quick fix, I recommend a sea salt cleanse. It's basically a few tea/tablespoons in about 8 cups of warm water. You can look it up on google, and after a couple hours, a few stretching exercises, you can enjoy the day…
  • just want to post this to get this out there.... http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=dBnniua6-oM&vq=small#t=27
  • I was and still am a huge fan of ellipticals, but I found an even better cardio machine, which puts less stress on my joints and gets my heart rate where I need it. I purchased a recumbent exercise bike, the Schwinn 220 last thanksgiving. I started at 235lbs, and it doesn't squeak, it's a smooth movement, and it's a solid…
  • I just want to also mention that in addition to losing weight by diet alone, my exercise routine includes daily 30 min of cardio, strength training 2 times weekly w/ trainer, and a weekly strenuous 2 hr competitive basketball game at a gym. definite agree that I get a lot of water weight issues, and I also feel bloated day…
  • umd78 - I see wild weight swings, especially between Sunday and Wednesday. I was 223 on Sunday morning (after day off), i weighed in this morning at 215.4. If you feel you're getting stuck, drink more water. If I'm lucky I'll see 214 before Saturday, and drive that back up past 220 on the weekend.
  • Steve, I've never measured a portion, and I eat till I'm totally content. sometimes upwards of 3/4 can of beans if I'm really hungry with a full size bonless chicken breast, or a steak. One day I even downed an 8 piece El Pollo Loco... it was awesome to see I lost weight the following day! Stephanie, and all those who have…
  • I used this for a little while as a home remedy to the continual heartburn, in lieu of OTC medications. At first, it seemed to be a viable alternative, but as a friend correctly mentioned, after a couple weeks, I started feeling the burning sensation from drinking it in my throat. I tried to limit my use of it, but it was…
  • @bluebird321, welcome to the board topic, great to have you, feel free to chime in with questions and any tweaks you may have found that work. @violynist - I have been doing the macadamia nut oil instead of butter for eggs, it seems fine, hardly noticeable. a question for the group, a friend of mine just started and he…
  • a whopping 7lb gain after cheat day... this is tough game to play. however, the fish n' chips and all the other stuff I consumed was well worth the mental satisfaction!
  • the diet I am on, the author insists eating a protein filled breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up will help significantly, as will ice baths... the latter I wouldn't even dare. It also is not easy to have eggs w/ beans 30 minutes of waking, but it does seem to work.
  • Love to get the new recipes, I'm one of those who can eat the same thing over and over, so I am good with my evening chicken, but i really should expand over the long run. You know I only find out after the fact on what she can and can't handle... i can tell you the day I tried to make a pork tenderloin, I almost got…
  • @motufit - I am 6'2" and started the diet on Jan 3rd. @eponai - I have been experiencing a similar situation... I am actually the same weight as I was mid February, and I seem to gain 6-7lbs on cheat day. while I don't want to avoid the mental need for going nuts on food, I'm feeling like I need to maybe try a disciplined…
  • I'm not ready to claim success by any means, as I'm still not even halfway to my goal. However, I just wanted to post my original pic with an updated pic from tonight, as I definitely see results in my face and neck thinning out. by the way, posting this pic was harder than it should have been! grrr.
  • agreed Mcferg, a mild anxiety, where I start trying to plan the day before, or just think about meals. It's like having a big event to get dressed for. All week, I have an ordinary rotation of clothing to work in. I don't really care what I throw on, and I'm usually comfortable. But every Saturday is like an Oscar after…
  • Mcferg, you articulate some really good points in regards to eating disorder. I never thought I had an issue with food; however, I notice some new behaviors about my eating on this controlled diet. First off, when I have a cheat day, I'm amazed about how much I "feel the need" (as opposed to being hungry) to consume food.…
  • For anyone who is looking for a simple cheat sheet, especially helpful if people are asking you about the diet... I have a lot of friends bugging me. There is a blog that was written with some easy/helpful information. http://www.williamhertling.com/2011/01/4-hour-body-fat-loss-cheat-sheet_27.html Happy Cheat day for all…
  • I saw one person mention a sea salt water flush... I'm pretty sure there is no better way to make yourself go to the bathroom. http://ezinearticles.com/?Salt-Water-Flush---Bathe-Your-Insides&id=639833 It's truly a natural way to "clean out" BUT with your condition and the time it has been, you should see a doctor asap.…
  • a note about kettlebells... I asked my personal trainer to get me started on these, both with a dead lift and then the swing part. After some attempts and 2 trainers watching me, they made note of me curving my back, and not pushing my pelvis in a backward position first to start the motion. If anyone is doing this…
  • I pay $80 a session (purchased 10 sessions), however, that includes the use of a private gym. It's fantastic to have an entire gym with only 1-2 other people in it. I really hate going to crowded gyms, but I am aware that at $80/session it's unsustainable for long.
  • You may want to check into possible supplements, I have heard good things about Hyaluronic Acid and Astaxanthin.
  • for cheat day?!? blech!!! I have no idea why you didn't gain a pound... not sure how I feel about taking cold showers on a regular basis, so I'm not sure what one will do for you every once in a while.
  • You can do this!!! we're on the motivation train!
  • Yes I take a probiotic with the Psyllium with breakfast and with dinner. I did not know there were refrigerated probiotic pills, I just take the ones at trader joes... says 10 billion organisms in there, which sounds so impressive.
  • I hear ya, but it is rather odd that these shoes do come with a warning label.
  • just wanted to put this at the top, in case anyone had a response, before it drops into forum oblivion.
  • I don't own or wear them, but I just saw your post and it reminded me of a news story that came out this week, about a lawsuit from a woman against skechers. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/ConsumerNews/skechers-shape-ups-lawsuit-woman-sues-toning-shoes/story?id=12927314
