  • Or the day after Christmas for that matter. I guess I don't really care about birthdays because they were never a big deal for me when I was growing up, kinda a let down after Christmas. The worst part was getting all my presents in two day and then 363 (364 on leap year) days with nothing. My wife works at a small company…
  • You've gotten a lot of great ideas and advice from the folks above and I'm not going argue the finer points of whether to bulk, cut, recomp or stop altogether and drink a lot of beer (no one actually recommended that one but I think it sounds good). Don't take what I say as anything other than what works for me - I'm not…
  • I tried but I didn't inhale...
  • gold rush favorite place?
  • I agree, ditch the insanity if you are going for muscle. If you have to use a video do P90x or P90x2, at least they include lifting although it is more reps and lighter weights than ideal if you are truly trying to add muscle. Another option would be to do Insanity Tue, Thur and Sat and do Stronglifts or one of the other…
  • I have one of those invisible fence collars for my dog that has a hand held remote and I walk the dog without a leash, when she stops to sniff or pee i just keep walking. When I get 50 or so feet ahead of her i whistle, if she doesn't run after me I hit the vibrate button on the collar and she comes running, I've never…
  • and to think I stopped masturbating because i thought that is why I was going blind. now I know it was the diet coke I was drinking.
  • One of my favorite smoothies for nights when I'm running a few hundred cals short for the day is: Chocolate yogurt frozen (regular yogurt put in the freezer not the yogurt that comes in an ice cream container) Chocolate syrup 1/2 frozen banana 3/4 cup of skim milk scoop chocolate protein powder 2 TBS Peanut Butter.
  • Give those jars to your favorite dog, he will have a ball for the next 20 mins licking every last bit of it out of the jar. My lab's nose is too big for the jar and her tongue is too short to reach the bottom so after about 10 mins she brings the jar over to me and I cut the top few inches off the jar so she can get down…
  • BMI is a silly measurement. My company gives us a 10% discount on health insurance if our bmi is below 28. I went in this year after a workout and was 28.5. My other measurements from that screening were: BF 11.5% (using the electrodes you hold in your hand) Total Cholestrol: 139 Bad Cholestrol: 79 Good Cholestrol: 50 (i…
  • Make a peanut butter sandwich out of poptarts - the jelly is already in the poptart, just put two poptarts together with peanut butter in between -mmmm really good and full of calories. BTW - if you find you are spending too much on pop tarts try toaster tarts from Aldi, my kids like them better than real poptarts.
  • I'm gonna do it till i need glasses.
  • Ahh, that sounds amazing.... exactly what part of the friend do I use to make an onion ring? Maybe the time one of my "friends" eats some of my chicken wings at BW3 I'll make friend onion rings out of him.
  • I think if I run to Canada I will burn enough calories to eat 4 or 5 butter tarts. Can I get them in Windsor or do I have to go a little further into Canada to find a real butter tart?
  • Tell her to stop eating her friend's onion rings, that's a good way to lose a finger or at least face a nasty fork stabbing to the hand in my circle of friends. If she wants to eat onion rings she should order them herself or arrange to share the order from the start.
  • So these two guys walk into a bar and the bartender is a horse... Oh sorry, probably the wrong site for a joke.
  • golly gee whiz, this thread sure makes me feel old. I don't even know most of the bands mentioned, heck, i dont even know some of the styles of music mentioned. I like to lift to AC/DC, Zeps or Sabbath. Usually I run to Who, Stones, Beatles, Kinks and a cd by Styx called Big Bang which was a bizarre library find, it is…
  • Because he is a totally addictive personality who has no self control so if someone says he should eat bananas, by god he'll eat 50 of them a day...til he gets bored of that and he finds something else that is good for him and he goes way over the top with that. I'm betting there was Evidence of being addictive... -The way…
  • That sounds sustainable. You better move a lot closer to the banana trees if you are going to eat that many bananas a day.
  • Plants are alive and just like the animals that died to feed you, they were born/planted and raised to feed you. If we didn't eat them they never would have been born. I agree with not wasting food, buy what you need, eat what you can and use the leftovers.
  • This. But don't do 30ds in running shoes, they don't offer any lateral support when doing jumping jacks or other moves. Find training shoes that offer similar support to the running shoes the running store recommends.
  • I find I can extend the life of my shoes by about 100% if I swap to an aftermarket insole when I start to feel the shoe is giving me less support. I don't buy the real expensive insoles, but he ~$20 ones that are heavy foam sometimes with a little plastic cup in the arch. One store I buy them from has a 1 year guarantee on…
  • Wait, what? There was a bar in the picture? Now I gotta go back to the top to see the bar? What kinda bar was it, a ballet bar, drinking bar, juice bar, crow bar? Shirley not an olympic bar. It was an olympic bar and stop calling me Shirley. Huh, who said that?
  • I had to read that post twice, I was trying to figure out what you needed dumb bells for. Is he so skinny he has to wear bells so people here him coming? Did he tie the bells to his fridge or pantry to ring everytime he opens the door? Oh wait he meant dumbbells not dumb bells - now i get it.
  • I can think of at least one thing that is worth doing that doesn't take a week ;-) OP - One more bit of advice. Now that you started lifting and will officially become a beast, you may have to change your camera goal. It will help with the motivation.
  • So you are in a bulking phase, lift heavy, eat a few extra calories from protein and enjoy the bulk. Give yourself a month or two of that and then go back to cutting. As long as you lift heavy during this phase you will gain muscle. That being said, half a jar of peanut butter in a day (unless it's a really small jar)…
  • I agree on caffeine and creatine but I recently started taking Big Blue by BioRhythm too. It has L-Arginine AKC (you get that NO pump) plus Beta Alanine to help with the lactic acid removal. Endurance is up and I've only been on it a couple of weeks, it should take 6 weeks to fully build the B-alanine in the system. To…
