"Funny" Posts

I don't mind reading the occasional fun post (i.e.: not related to weight loss/exercise/nutrition), but it seems like lately these threads are crowding out the real threads. It's getting difficult to sort through the junk to find threads that might be helpful. I'm starting to wonder if it is worth the trouble. Thanks for listening.

I'm getting tired of reading topics (ostensibly for discussion) that would be better off as blog posts.
That sheet really gets old.0 -
As the #1 thread creator on this site, I'll just say that most of my stuff either stays in chit chat where it belongs, or is created in such a way as to encourage useful discourse.
I can't help if I'm too intelligent in the way I go about it for some.0 -
So these two guys walk into a bar and the bartender is a horse...
Oh sorry, probably the wrong site for a joke.0 -
This is off topic for the Motivation and Support forum. If you want to Chit Chat about the Chit Chat, take it to http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/16-chit-chat-fun-and-games0

It's not worth your time... go give weight watchers your money, and leave us alone.0

When you get to "Message Boards", then click on "Home", choose which sections interest you. Avoid the one that says "Chit-Chat, Fun, and Games part.
Okay?

I know exactly what you mean. The 'recent posts' section is pretty much useless for anything diet or fitness related because nearly everything is from the chit/chat section.
I realize that people with weight to lose often have self esteem issues, but I find the sheer number of "what would you do to me" and other "I need you to love me" posts very sad.0 -

Clarity please. What's worth the trouble? Your fitness level, reading forum posts, participating with a group of people online that you, most likely, have never met and will probably never meet, weight loss, tracking your food and exercise, asking for help, posting a forum response, posting a forum topic?
And what is your definition of helpful? What you may call junk, someone else may get some benefit from.
Also, if a free service designed to help you track your calories and your fitness activities provides lower quality services than what you're looking for, I'm sure you're welcome to find one that charges and will pay their staff to make the site as locked down and nutritionally sound as possible...that may be more up your ally.
Finally...there's a thing on your browser that may be of use to you, it's called the "Back Button". It's primary use is to take you out of the page you are currently on to the previous page. This is useful in the forum settings to take you out of a thread you are not interested in and back to where you can search for another topic to follow.0 -

Use the search function to search topics that are of interest to you.
The correct answer is to start a new thread about it.
Then make another thread when no one takes your last new thread seriously.
Then make a thread that everyone hates you.
Then deactivate.0 -
Point taken. I won't click on the Recent Posts tab.0

*shrugs* It is what it is. Do you honestly expect anyone to redesign their approach in order for you to feel more comfortable with the signal to noise ratio? Or is this thread that you've created which isn't related to weight loss/exercise/nutrition simply symptomatic of the condition?0

You forgot about the "everyone is mean and unsupportive" unless you were wrapping that in with how much "everyone hates you" thread.0 -
