  • Polar FT7!!!
  • 5" 6" SW: 173 (size 12) CW: 147 (I've been stuck here for 2 months) (Size 8) GW: 145 Shirt/blouse: M (Medium is fine. Don't want to lose anymore "up top")
  • Rock star indeed! Congratulations! I went from a 12 to an 8 just recently and I know how good that felt, so I can only imagine how much better you feel, inside and out. I love to see these kind of results.
  • Ooops!!!! I did not ever think of that. I've been logging the total calories burned from the HRM. I guess I need to make some adjustments. Thanks OP for asking that question!
  • I did WW 14 years ago, lost 25 pounds and slowly put it back on over the years. I have been doing MFP for a little over 5 months now, lost 23 pounds to date, and now I'm interested to see what happens as far as going back to old habits and putting it all back on. When I was doing WW I was all about whatever food I could…
  • I must not be doing Zumba right because I never burn that many calories. Do you use a heart rate montor to get that calculation?
  • This, by all means!!
  • That was a very kind and considerate response to someone's request for help and advice. You obviously care about the other MFP members. I wish all posters on MFP were the same. The rudeness of some MFP posters "astounds" me.
  • Well I'm astounded by your rudeness.
  • In addition to my personal nutritionist, the following organizations sat that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day", especially if trying to lose or control your weight. I'm going with what the experts say, and its working for me. Harvard School of Public Health Mayo Clinic American Institute of Cancer Research…
  • Polar FT7, and yes you are able to put in your stats (weight, age, gender, heighth, etc.). I think its a great tool to have and was very surprised to see how far off the MFP activity calorie burns are compared to my HRM results. I was burning a lot less calories than the charts on MFP suggested. I'm glad I wasn't eating…
  • I use a Heart Rate Monitor, and my part fast walk, part jog on a treadmill at 4% and 5% grades for 45 minutes burns around 300 calories. I'm 5'6", current weight 157. Hope that helps. 800 calories sounds way over for a hike, unless you jogged for a good portion of the hike.
  • Since mid-April I have not had a single soda and I am drinking as much water as I can get down, but I do love my sweet tea, so have been drinking tea with Equal. It's zero calories. Surely that's better than the alternative.
  • Movie theater popcorn, with butter squirted on top!!! Yikes!! But it was so good!!
  • Great job!!!!! Congrats!!!!
  • I'm 5' 6" with a goal weight of 150. Currently at 158 (started at 171.5), size 10/12 with a medium frame (long legs). Twelve years ago I was at 145 and very pleased with my overall look, but now that I'm older (56) not sure if I can maintain 145. Obviously I didn't maintain it in my 40's either but that was before I knew…
  • Just a quick check in with all you lovely ladies ... DeeDee, I love, love, love your profile pic of the “Queen of Everything” coffee mug. I’m going to search online for one for myself! I hope your back is better now that you’ve started moving around a bit. Critter Sue, that was a great thing you did for the snapping turtle…
  • I made these last night, but they didn't "crisp". They tasted good though. I estimated about 170 calories total for 3/4 cup. Bread crumbs 55 calories (1/8 cup), Zuchinni in olive oil (1/2 cup) 60 calories, and 1/8 cup of parmessan cheese, 56 calories.
  • Good morning ladies, finally getting back to the thread following my vacation in Cabo earlier in June. Wow, it was a fantastic vacation and I didn't want to come back to reality. However, I must pay the bills, so here I am back in Hockley, TX. Summer has arrived here in Texas and boy it is hot!!! We had a very pleasant May…
  • Polar FT7, bought it at Academy about a month ago for about $90. Worth it! I have been using MFP calorie burned calculations and also going by the meters on my treadmill and Healthrider, which were both overestimating the amount of actual calories burned. I am glad I was not eating back all the calories burned before I got…
  • Woohoo! Good for you! It's just the beginning .....
  • I just had Chik Fila 8 piece nuggets for dinner and a large unsweet tea, but without the waffle fries. Still stayed within my calorie quota for the day. But I must admit I really wanted those waffle fries They are awesome!!
  • Woohoo! Good for you!!!!!!
  • Meg, I'm in Hockley, TX, about 50 miles northwest of Houston, however, I am very familiar with the "piney woods" of Texas and also familiar with Zavalla. My mom lived in Broaddus, about 15 miles from Zavalla, for many years, until my step father passed away seven years ago. She has since moved back to the city. I guess I…
  • I started on 1200 calories a day at 171.5 in mid-April (6 weeks ago), I'm now at 158.5 and I do not eat my calories back. That said, I do plan to start upping my calories and eating my calories back when I go into maintenance, but for now this is working for me. Everyone is different, but I feel great, I'm working out for…
  • Just bought the Polar FT7 and was disappointed to see that I am not burning the calories that I thought I was. My treadmill is close, but still shows I've burned more than the HRM does. My Healthrider is way overestimating calories burned. I'm glad I bought it because it surely gives me a truer picture of calorie burn…
  • Happy Friday to all my newly found MFP lady friends. I hope the weekend outings and food offerings don't spoil your progress, but it's important to have fun and endulge every once in a while. Just invested in a new heart rate monitor (Polar FT7) and boy am I glad I did. The sample of calories burned on MFP in most cases is…
