Are you very stressed? Stress can cause you to have a bit of a tummy even when you are quite fit. It could also caused by bloating. Here's a link that I found that talks about the different types of tummy and how to deal with them. http://www.bodyandsoul.com.au/body+fitness/news+features/what+is+your+tummy+typer,10267

I'm 136 and am hope for something around 120. I'd be glad to have a partner in crime!

I don't know about the actual food items, but I find that changing up my daily calorie allowance helps. I think it's called calorie shifting and it helps trick your metabolism into staying faster. It could be that she has been eating the same amount of calories for long enough that her body has adjusted to function on that…

This is me as well. I go one of 2 ways: I either restrict a ton, or I binge. It's like I either think "Don't eat that! Do you want to be overweight and die?" or "Don't stop eating! Do you want to be underweight and die?" I'd love to see other people's thoughts.

I'm 5'6.5" and I don't know what to call my bone structure. I have VERY TINY wrists and arms in general, but my legs and hips are naturally thicker. I guess medium build? CW is 137, and I am to have about 17% body fat, which makes my goal weight 117.

It's the same brand as always and other people have eaten out of the same jar. Plus, we go through a jar in a 2-3 days (whole family is big on PB) so I've had problems from many different containers.

You lost 10 inches in 40 days with an injury and an infection??? That's crazy! Good for you.

Add me! I started a couple weeks ago but I haven't gotten anywhere! I need some motivation.

I overeat when I'm alone. Literally, the moment I feel like I have the kitchen to myself, I just dive right in to the pantry. I always know when it's coming and try to busy myself with something else, but it's just an instinct, like "hurry and eat while you can! they might be back soon."

This is what I do unintentionally... It might work for some people, but I can't lose any weight even though my calories are right on target. I think it messes with my body's system, because it's definitely not a normal way of eating. Also, even if I have enough calories to handle the binge, I still feel terribly guilty and…

Great list! What I love to do is bake for other people. I find that it allows me to think about food and be around it without eating it. For me, I overeat because I think about food so often that I convince myself that I NEED some. Baking satisfies my thoughts. Of course, if you will be too tempted to eat your baked goods…

I don't know the science behind what SHOULD happen, but for me the quality of the food makes a huge difference. I've been sticking pretty to1200 calories but I mostly get them from peanut butter, chocolate chips, and cereal. That's a lot of fat and sugar! I haven't lost any weight :(

I was also anorexic. I actually still swing between restricting and binging, and I think that's why I binge so much. I go just a bit over my calorie limit, so then I freak out and restrict a ton. That always leads to a binge because my body is in need and because I am mentally exhausted from lying to myself about not…

peanut butter is my trigger food too! unfortunately my family won't get rid of it, they tell me to just have some self-control... like it's that simple!

Well according to this model, you simply multiply the amount of body fat you have in lbs by 31. There are lots of body fat percentage calculators out there that you can use, and then you multiply the percent by your weight. So for example, someone who weights 150 lbs finds that she has a BF% of 30%, so 150 * .3 = 45 lbs of…

because refined sugars are empty calories Plus, if you eat a very high sugar diet you tend to have energy swings as your blood sugar rises and drops.

I'm horribly addicted to peanut butter, to the point where some days I literally only eat 100-200 calories of other food! I need to stop eating the stuff, it's too dangerous.

I love hummus with lots of fresh veggies and whole grain pita. Also, I like to mix a big batch of quinoa, chickpeas, and steamed veggies with lots of spices.
-
I have that problem. I don't worry about sugar from fruits and veggies because your body reacts differently to that kind. Besides, there's no way you should limit fresh produce! As long as you aren't blowing it with added sugar I think it's fine.

I'm in! Right now I'm doing 900, but I'm ready to lower it I think.

I agree that binges are more about loss of control than calories consumed.
