Hi SkullMama, Thanks for the question : ) Your concern is one that I had myself when I started thinking about eating this way. There is a lot of research available in the area of low carbohydrate/ketogenic dieting and its effects on cholesterol levels. All of the studies I have found and read on this subject indicate that…

I eat out a lot less than I used to, and I eat a lot more fruits and veggies. When I feel like a need a big meal, but don't have a lot of calories left, I make soup from scratch :) It is really low cal and fills you up. I work out a lot, which helps keep the plateauing at a minimum. I eat back my exercise calories. Mmm and…

You can do push ups, sit ups, squats, and really any core exercises are good. Here is a great website I like to reference when I need some new material: http://www.best-weight-loss-programs.net/strength-training-exercises-at-home.html Also, one of my girlfriends and I once used bottles of juice as weights when working out…

Hey there! Welcome, you are going to love it on this website! I was in the same boat as you when I started on here. Yes, and as a CNA and health care provider, don't worry, it is not awkward for me to discuss this with you. I would say it is definitely the increase in fiber as well as the increased water in your diet that is causing you some extra trips to the bathroom. The fiber and water work hand in hand to make bowel…

1. When you weigh yourself, do it at the same time, wearing the same clothes each time. ( I am an in the morning naked kinda girl myself...) 2. Get a tape measure and use that more than you use your scale. This will show your fat loss more accurately. Fat loss is what we all ultimately want, not just "weight loss" (because…

I am not currently trying for any babies, however I have noticed my cycle has gotten WAY more regular since I have lost weight. I am down 25 lbs from 215 at 5'4.5" to 190 and my cycle length has gone from 45+ days to 30 days already :) One of the reasons, among many, I wanted to get healthy was so my husband and I can…

I am also a huge fan of unsweetened almond milk. Almost every morning I have a bowl of Total cereal, which has 100% of many of the vitamins and minerals we need including calcium, with almond milk and it is a tiny 140 calories  A great way to make sure you are covering your nutritional bases right away in the…
