I have at least 2 cups of coffee daily and use organic grass fed 35% fat cream (2-3 tbsp per cup). No sugar or sweatener. I cut that *kitten* out a long time ago! I used to have chronic dry skin and hair when I ate per the recommendations of the food pyramid. I nixed that, went primal (high fat, moderate protein, moderate-low carb), no more problems. Of course, make sure your getting enough water!

I'm Primal: Mine are set to 65% fat, 20% protein, 15% carb. I generally stick to between 60-65% fat, 20-25% protein, 15-20% carb.

I've lost 41 lbs pretty darned effortlessly by eating a high fat, moderate protein, low-moderate carb. Feel great. I walk a lot but have just started to add workouts last week, so it definitely wasn't exercise related.

Try increasing your healthy fats (coconut oil, olive oil, macadamia nut oil, lard/tallow/schmaltz, etc) Not canola oil, vegetable oils, etc... See if this helps. Forgot avocados... those are great too.

I'm Primal (not going to paleo) but start small and you can still count calories. I did in the beginning and still do on occasion to make sure I'm still on track.

What quality of butter are you eating? If it's from grain fed cows, cows given hormones, etc... there may be other reasons other than a dairy allergy.
