  • I'm big into fruit lately so some grapes, a banana, or maybe a yogurt. I also love low-fat string cheese - I think they're about 60 calories. And pickles!
  • I have this one as well, and love it. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. I don't remember exactly how much I spent, but with one of their coupons I'm sure it was similar to the Costco price because I know I probably wouldn't have wanted to spend more than $30 :)
  • I put together bags of snacks that are about 100 calories or so each, and grab one each day to pick on when/if needed when I'm at work our out and about. Usually just grapes, or some dried fruit with almonds. You could do something similar, and eat the snack on your way home from the gym. I also love bananas after a…
  • When I trained for my first half marathon, I was just starting to feel comfortable running 3-4 miles. I trained for 12 weeks (Hal Higdon's Novice 1), and finished in 2:00:54. I'd say it's probably doable, if you're super committed!
  • I think running with someone helps a lot. Tonight I was so confused when my mom stopped to turn around during our run. We'd gotten so into our conversation, we made it to the halfway point so quickly and easily I hadn't even noticed. I didn't realize it was already time to turn around. But what helps the most is that I'm…
  • I've just learned to get creative with what I pair my turkey with. Lately I've been using Fiber One 80 calorie wraps with my turkey, and adding: - cream cheese, pickles, fat free mozzarella or - horseradish (or fat free mayo), avocado, tomato, fat free mozzarella or - horseradish (or fat free mayo), pickles, fat free…
  • It was SO hard when I started, and with one week to go, a lot of it still is (WHY is the yoga so hard?!) But it's so worth it - I look and feel a lot better. It can be hard to accommodate my schedule sometimes, but with a little effort, I'm able to make it work. Some weeks I have to rearrange the workouts so shorter one…
  • I love it! I love the taste and that you can eat a lot of it without feeling too guilty :) Sometimes I'll have it with just a couple squirts of spray butter and some parmesan and it's good, but you can add to it a million different ways. I made this recently, and it was so so good. Spaghetti squash with turkey meatballs:…
  • The waffles and oatmeal never keep me full. I do a low calorie english muffin (80 cal) with fat free cream cheese (50 cal). With that I'll do either a banana and a yogurt (about another 160 calories) or a smoothie (about 200-250 calories). That can usually keep me feeling full until lunch, but I do sometimes need something…
  • I've lost an automobile tire since Christmas. Just joined MFP because I'd like to now lose a sperm whale's brain
  • I've got a week to go! I loved and hated every day of it. I've lost 20 pounds, and more importantly look and feel better, so I definitely recommend giving it another go. I didn't do a great job following the nutrition plan (hence why I'm here - gotta get those additional 12..or maybe 17, pounds off), but still benefited a…
  • I make a plan to meet my mom there. Simply not wanting to hear a lecture from her about skipping the gym is enough to get me there on a day I'm reallllly not feeling it. If she's not available to schedule a workout date, then I make sure I tell her (or someone) I'm going to the gym. That way, I have to go. I'd hate to lie…
  • I've had a lot of success with them. They control my portions, and a lot of them are pretty good. If I'm doing one of the pizzas or sandwiches, I bring a side of carrots. If I'm doing something like a pasta, I have a piece or two of low-calories bread. Makes it a bit more filling without adding a ton of calories.
