The main role of proteins is to maintain tissue and ensure that various organs in our body are functioning properly and they're not the main source of energy unlike carbs and fats therefore to lower carbs one should increase fats intake, not proteins. Obviously the minimum amount would be higher when training to repair…

not sure where the 1g per lb comes from but the general rule is to multiply your body weight in lbs by .37 or .8 in kgs to get the min daily amount required. i tried high protein and low carb approach but didnt quite work for me as i felt hungry between meals and was craving for carbs. Protein is not a very good source of…

I lost around 10 pounds and went down from 34ish to 30ish around waist.

I used soya flour (not powder) and I buy it in bulk

Hello there, I've never used Stevia so difficult to tell but I assume it would work as well as long as it's a powder - give it a try ;)
-
Here is a blueberry version of the muffins: I've made small change to the recipe: 1. 0.5tsp of baking powder + 0.5 bicarbonate of soda ---> instead of 1tsp baking powder 2. replace club soda with milk 3. 0.5 tsp of vanilla extract 4. blueberries instead of raspberries (i cut mine in half) The texture difference is pretty…

These are so delicious that I decided to make more and this time doubled the amount of ingredients. I've also added 1 more tsp of baking powder and increased the temp to 200C (390F) The muffins are 3inch wide at the top

Yes, new clothes are one of the problems of losing weight :) I had to urgently buy new trousers lol :)
-
Well, I've been going to the gym only for couple of months and achieved great results without a personal trainer but that's because I set myself for it. I've been losing approx. 1kg a week, dropped from 34 to 30inch around my waist and that's only because of my diet. I was never in bad shape before and never paid any…

I can only see egg white powder on myprotein

"Must try" for me !!!

Same here. The problem is that I've always loved bread and can't really stop eating it completely hence looking for substitutes ;) The only reasonable bread I could find that is available in stores and which is still high in carbs but only 56kcal per slice is Wheatgerm by Hovis which I eat ocassionally with peanut butter…

Yes, one would think that because it's the same thing the nutrition would be not much different but that's not the case. Another low carb flaxseed is by Linswood. I'm in the UK by the way ;)
-
Yes, I'm using Dr.Oetker Gluten Free version :)
-
The flaxseed meal I'm using has 1g of carbs per 100g (so it says on the package) - Virginia Harvest Cold-Milled Flaxseed ;)

Considering that this is low carb/ high fat recipe I would say yes however it contains cheese, butter and milk which are diary products and not allowed in Paleo so can't be 100% sure. EDIT: just read on some websites that apparently Paleo diet gives you a flexibility when it comes to diary products so if that's the case…

Tried it toasted this morning - it tastes pretty good - nice and crispy :)
-
Yes, a bit - it would go very well with whipped cream and some fruit as a dessert - I tried it with blueberries jam and it takes very nice. I also eat it with Yellow cheese and turkey breast and I like it even sprinkled with almonds :)
-
Here it is - a version with almonds Tip: rather than making rounds spread all the mixture on a baking tray (about 33cm long) and once ready cut into 6 even squares. I've found this approach much easier and the halves are same size when making closed sandwich ;)

I was just like you, couldn't stand any fish or even sea food but once started my diet decided to give it a try due to benefits fish and sea food have and went for grilled salmon sprinkled with herbs - absolutely delicious - if you don't like fishy taste you can always add some cream on top e.g. aoili etc. Also motivation…

Please do let us know how you got on with it. I can resist eating cookies during a day but the problem starts at night as I often get up half asleep and crawl to the kitchen to grab something sweet :P The way I'm fighting this atm is by saving on carbs and overall calorie intake during a day + gym so I have some reserve ;)…

Thanks for this

Here it is - Mega Cloud Bread :) Next time could try sprinkling it with some flaked almonds or add raisins :P
-
Unfortunately I always go by weight so not sure how many spoons would these be :frown:
-
Yesterday I added 25g of Vanilla Whey protein to the yolk mixture and the buns taste really nice - would be perfect for cream and strawberries cakes mmmmm :P
-
Hello, The only ingredients that sugar would come from is the chocolate and the coconut powder/flour as I used unsweetened Apro Almonds Soya Milk.
-
The meringue doesn't have yolks in them and look completely different. The original recipe calls it a cloud bread but you call it whatever you want and don't be rude
-
Also, if you look on the pics you'll see dark spots on the buns. These are herbs (basil) I added to the yolk mixture - not enough but you could try adding more or even some ground nuts perhaps to add more flavour. Next time I'm going to add some vanilla whey protein powder to increase protein amount - hopefully this will…

The cream of tartar is a stabilizer for the whites so when beaten they stay nice and fluffy. You can try but not sure if baking powder will act the same way ;)
