  • eggs, fish, red meat and nuts, plus complex carbohydrates combined, such as beans (9g) on toast (5g) has as much protein as steak, (ok maybe not as much as I thought!) a serving of beans on toast has 14g of protein and is a lot cheaper than meat, useful when you are getting a little bored of chicken, tuna etc, plus…

  • Would be helpful to know the quantity of alcohol and calorie content pre logged. Even 1 large glass 250ml of wine packs a hefty punch of wasted calories , I say that not to be critical in anyway but because you could eat a normal dinner 400-600 and have a night out drinking sparkling water and maybe just one or two gin and…

  • I always defrost 2 - 4 cubes of frozen spinach and stir into meat sauces such as spaghetti bolognaise, chilli con carnes, lasagnes. When making beefburgers or meatballs I add some to the mixture before forming into patties or balls. I also stir into casseroles. Mix it into the sauce you spread on pizzas.
  • Do you have space to keep a few potted herbs on a windowsill? I can thoroughly recommend getting a small pot of rosemary , I use rosemary, garlic and olive oil in sooo many things, especially roasted meats and vegetables. In spring you can plant it out the nearest piece of grass to your front door, in a flower bed,…
  • I would start with a fruit bowl and fill it with apples, bananas, oranges. For the store cupboard ...fortified breakfast cereals, porridge oats, tins of tuna, baked beans, kidney beans, soups, packets of ryvita crispbreads, marmite, peanut butter, wholewheat pasta, brown rice, teabags, coffee, a small bag of flour & sugar.…

With omelettes add in tiny amounts of chopped mushrooms, bell peppers, spinach etc just to get you used to salad and veg in tiny amounts at first. As you are a vegetarian do you cook with quorn mince? it is similar to…
