  • I am here, and actively logging; I only check the boards every few days though. I am now 4 weeks post op and have lost 15.4 since surgery, 47.8 total. I think the surgery threw my hormones for a big loop but everything seems to be settling down now. I didn't lose any weight for almost 3 weeks and was really questioning…
  • I was sleeved on 6/21/17 as well and there is no way I would be able to have 3 "meals", 3"snacks", plus all of my liquids. I am slowly building up, but only averaging 1.5 protein shakes and about 50 oz of actual water a day. Take it slow and listen to you body! The pains you are feeling may be from taking too much at once.…
  • Ultima_Morpha Member You're right, it doesn't seem like much. IT IS MUCH...it is everything. We know exactly how you're feeling because, despite what we can do now, we all remember that liberating feeling of those early victories. You're at the start of the rest of your life. You're going to go from "Yay me, I ran up the…
  • So this will not seem like much to all the runners in the group, but it's pretty huge for me. I have went from 95% sedentary and taking the elevator 4 months ago, to not only taking the stairs, but running up them! 4 months ago, I could barely get out of my car because it sits so low to the ground and now I am running up 3…
  • I go tomorrow morning at 8am for pre-op test. Good luck!!
  • My VSG is 6/21 too!!! Feel free to add me!! I am currently on my pre-op diet as well and I am really hungry too. I switch over to liquid only Saturday and can't imagine how hungry I am going to be then.
  • Hope everything went well!
  • At one time I had some blockage that made ovulation pretty painful. Just a thought...
  • Awesome!! Congrats, can't wait to hear about your progress. I am still a few weeks out so be sure to pass on any tips!
  • Lisidy, I sent you a request as well  If anyone is interested in adding me: //www.fitbit.com/user/25FH7S
  • I just added you too Jen_VSG2017. I do great with the exception of the last 3-4 days of the month where my job keeps me chained to it!
  • ohmygosh!!! Congrats!! I can't wait to do that!!! I will probably bawl like a baby! Way to go girl!!
  • Rob, Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. For those like me (pre-op), the information I am getting from this group is so helpful! I am sure my "fat" brain is going to fight me every step of the way on this journey. I just need to be stronger than it is!

  • I had to have that done, but they did it by having me blow into some kind of bag, then drink some nasty stuff, wait 15 min and then blow in another bag. I thought the whole thing was nuts but I guess somehow they can tell about the bacteria in your stomach. It's so interesting to see the different requirements and…
  • CONGRATS!! I am a little behind you as I am waiting on the insurance to approve now! How exciting. I think we are all nervous about the same things, being put under, the liquid diet and so on but you wouldn't be this far if you didn't really really want it! Since I am about where you are I don't have any wisdom to share,…
  • I have only been in the hospital to be born and give birth so the prospect of voluntarily going under is frightening. I have to look at it like this is a life or death decision, which in reality it is.
  • I had someone do something similar to me while I was jogging at a outdoor track!! It does hurt your feelings, we wouldn't be human if it didn't but I thought to myself, at least I am trying, you sir will forever be a fool. Try not to let the words of uninformed, unkind people sink in. In the grand scheme of life, they…

  • Awesome!!! have a great one!
  • I'm in OKC metro, and in close to the same boat as you. I am in week 7 on mfp and very committed. Add me if you would like.
  • As you said BrendaLee, I would rather be fit too, but the idea of looking older due to the weight loss is pretty scary in my book too!!
  • You look awesome!!! You literally took at least 10 years off of your appearance!! Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I take thyroid meds daily too. I hate to give you bad news but basically my endocrinologist told me " you can lose weight but you will have to work three times harder than someone without thyroid problems". It can happen, you just have to work your tail off! Don't give up!
  • You made the first step! So proud of you!!! Feel free to add me, I will lend all that support that I can!
