  • This meal plan is fine - i have nothing bad to say about it. But think of it this way - are there going to be times where adhering to this diet 100% is going to be a bit more complicated? Could you stick to this diet FOREVER without getting bored, without wanting changes. As long-term is where true success lies. You are…

  • in my experience a low carb diet seems to hinder my performance in the gym and recover as well as making me tired/moody trying to keep up with an intense workout routine. for that reason i ditched the lower carbs for now and have slowly been raising them and im feeling quite good with increased recovery and energy, keep in…
  • if your calorie goal is set to maintain your weight and your activity level is set correctly, 2500ish is how much you will burn without any exercise. any exercise you do is extra calories that you need to eat back in order to maintain your weight. i would still eat nutritious meals, just larger ones in order to try and…
  • i think that increasing the calorie goal is a good idea for you. whether it be by eating back your exercise calories on top of 1500 or just eating 1700 per day. your body needs fuel to burn! as everyone else said just increase slowly. adding extra things to your current meals to keep any routine going smoothly. adding more…
  • Sounds like you may be the find of person who needs to have it there as an option in order to avoid indulging too much. How about you write a list of your favourite junk foods and search for either healthier recipe options or healthier brands of that product and moderate how much you eat. Get yourself into a routine of…
  • dont be restrictive but steer away from trigger foods. yes you are dieting but you also want to change your lifestyle in a way that you can maintain the weight that you have lost in the future. when choosing foods and making shopping lists do not think of food as good or bad, think how it can benefit you and your goals and…
  • Its a very challenging situation. But you CAN and WILL overcome it :) Try writing down a list of your current goals, then writing a list of the steps you need to do to get there. On another piece of paper write I CAN in front of each of your goals and/or steps and stick these pieces of paper in a place you can see them.…

  • That's a much better motivational though for you, but next time you could even put the word CAN in there ;) Great job so far!!!!! :flowerforyou:
  • i totally agree with you :) whats important is to make choices that benefit our OWN bodies and do our OWN research to find ways we can do things that will be best for ourselves :) :flowerforyou:
  • perhaps you need to look at the kind of foods you are eating and not just the calories. focus on eating more whole foods and avoid eating anything processed. focus on good old meat and veg and snack on fruit.
  • if you are finding it hard to make up for the calories. set your calorie goal to maintenance and use your exercise as the deficit. regardless - you need to fuel that body :)
  • use a food scale for high calorie foods, eat more leafy greens and less grains/dairy. eat more fats like nuts, avocado and coconut. focus more on strength training than cardio as it has a larger increase in metabolic rate and increases fat loss/decreases muscle loss to achieve muscle 'tone' keep your calorie goal the same…
  • i dont understand the concept of not eating meat - its one of mans most natural and instinctual sources of food. i would rethink why you are doing this if i were you. to lose weight? this can encourage muscle loss. to increase energy? likely to be cabohydrate highs followed by a down. regarding animal cruelty - i choose…
  • just subtract 250-750calories from your bodymedia and eat that. say you burnt 2500 calories in a day. eat 1750-2250 to lose fat. i wouldnt eat at a deficit larger than 750calories. for example my deficit ranges between 250 and 500calories per day with a maintenance day thrown in there every so often.
