I didn't join google+ to get the android app and use the lift big on my android phone, but here's the link from my daily Medhi emails https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.hypersense.stronglifts/ Actually, here's the entire email: The new beta version of the StrongLifts 5x5 app for android is now available. Here's…

One more thing, there's a Stronglifts app for Iphone, Ipod and Ipad which has a timer and is very good at keeping track of your sets and progress. I understand they're working on one for android that's in beta testing now. For my android phone I use Liftbig - which works the same way essentially but the timer doesn't start…

I've been doing the stronglifts program since early July after several years of split training with a personal trainer. I like the program a lot. I've seen some very good strength gains and body composition change even though I've been eating in a deficit. I like the simplicity of the program and that it's a full body…

Thanks, that's really what I was wondering, if there was a way I should work through it i.e. rehab it with particular work or reps or if I needed to stay off it for an extended period of time. Thanks again!

Thank you for your input. I've been pushing a lot of weight, for me, on the bench press lately doing Stronglifts. My first guess was that it was a problem with my form, although I've worked with a very good trainer for a few years, watched videos and read up on it, it's hard, for me anyway, to tell how off my form is,…

Check the ingredients, my son has a nut allergy and all the flavors I looked at have almonds in them, even the chocolate chip cookie dough. I loved the white chocolate rasberry also but don't recall if it contains almonds as well.

I've been doing this since July and the suggestion is to rest 90 seconds between sets and longer if the set is more diffiuclt even up to 5 minutes. There is an ipod/ipone app for stronglifts which has a timer that automaticially starts after you enter the set and even flashes after 90 seconds. Unfortunatley there's not one…

I read someone who had posted it and I tried it. I added chocolate whey protein powder to my coffee .. quick tip it's a bit hard to mix I found mixing it in a shaker bottle much better than trying to mix it in with a spoon ... but it did taste like mocha coffee and I enjoy it. I haven't tried any other flavors. I mixed in…

I always found the chocolate casein flavors tasted better and I've always found the casein to be thicker and creamier. I use Godl Standard Chocolate Supreme which I find pretty good. But as with any flavor you'll have to try a few and see what you like best.

I just did that a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty awesome ... and surprising how much harder it is with just a coulpe of those little 5lbers on. My pipe dream right now is to press my body weight (passed that in the others exept the Row). Although I may have to lose another 75lbs to get there.

Good advise, thanks, my gym only has 2.5 but it might be worth picking up a couple of smaller fractional plates, especially for my OHP - especially if the deload doesn't help.

I've been doing Stronglifts since July, however I've been strength training for a few years before that with a trainer doing split routines with both compound and isolation excercises. I didn't start with just the bar as the program suggests bc it was too light for me and I knew I would've gotten board with it before it…

I had a trainer a few years ago (for a couple of years) who was trained and certified by Charles Polliquin ... aside from the low rep range and mid rep range excercises he was big on tempo - no pause at the top or bottom and 3 or 4 seconds on the concentric (I hope that's the right term) part of the excercise. Very tough…

I've been doing Stronglifts since July after years of doing split routines with both compound and isolation excercises. So far I like the program. Especially since I'm eating in a deficit and trying to retain strength and LBM. I started light (not with the bar as the program suggests, but light for me). I like its…

This is an "argument" I used to have with a nutritionisi I was seeing several years ago. She would say that it didin't matterif I ateover my calorie goal on a given day if I mad up for it the next .. my arguement was how does your body know day to day week to week what fuel it needs, she never had a good answwer ... I…

I wish I could give credit to the original MFP poster but I didn't save the thread, her suggestion was adding a scoop of chocolate protein to the coffee. I've since tried it and now have it almost daily. It tastes like chocolate mocha.

No that you had me thinking abou it again, I was out of work about a week and a half and I have predominatey a desk job, I just couldn't do my commute which is about an hour to an hour and a half drive. It was very uncomfortable for the first 2 weeks, and my surgery was less than they anticipated, the hernia was small…

Actually, at the time it wasn't torture, I didn't get to where I was leaving food on my plate.

I'm sorry I read that your title in my mother's voice .. though there was usually a reward at the end .. "to get dessert!"

It really depends on your goals. I've been weight lifting and strength training for a few years (on and off) mostly doing split routines with a lot of isolation (single joint) excercises. I am by no means an expert in this. I started doing the Stronglifts program in early July, the reason I decided to do this program was…

This ^ ... Listen to your doctor. I had mine done about 2 years ago and I was weight lifting at the time. It was very difficult to stop for that time (my Dr. told me 6-8 weeks - on a follow up visit after 6 he let me start). You won't want to or even be able to do much for the first week or two anyway. At that time I…

Very impressive squat... I am looking forward to that day that I can push my body weight above my head, surprising to me today I was able to get 145 up for all 5 (about 2/3 of my body weight) and my squat (230) and deadlift (235) were both above my body weight for the first time in this program. I also didn't start with…

This ^ and I use it also ... most come in low or no sugar but the amount of calories is going to depend on the amount of protein as well. I also use Designer Whey Protein which has a lot less other "stuff" in it and only 100 cal per serving - fat 2g; Total Carb 6g; Sugar 2g; and Protein 18g.
