  • My husband says it was love at first sight for him. He actually asked me to marry him on our first date! I said no and he continued asking till I said yes - 6 weeks later, when I realized it was love. We married 7 months after we met and next month will make 20 blessed years!! I'm so glad that he kept asking:love:
  • Everyone has a different view of what marriage is, making each persons 'right' age different. There is no perfect age - it's when both are ready to take the commitment seriously. I married at 22 after dating my husband for only 7 months and we will celebrate 20 years next month. I also got pregnant on the honeymoon with…
  • We have the Wii Fit Plus and the Active Personal Trainer, which I do enjoy, but for a bigger calorie burn, I have the Wii Gold's Gym Dance Workout.
  • My husband was not at all interested in being healthier when I started either. I am the one who grocery shops so I just started buying healthier foods - like veggie chips instead of regular ones, frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, more fish and chicken, things like that. But some things, I just let up to him - like his…
  • My sister-in-law is a teacher and had the name *kitten* on her student list a few years back. It was pronounced Ash-hole-e! I am a big fan of unusual names. My oldest daughter is Dallas. We've only heard of one other female named Dallas. My second daughter is Jurnee (pronounced like journey). Unfortunately, we've had a…
  • my kids no longer ask 'whats happening on facebook', but instead 'whats happening on mfp' everytime they see me on the computer!!
  • Sometimes when I drive past a McDonalds and smell the french fries, I do miss them. Then I remember all the youtube videos I watched where the french fries never go bad - ever - and I get over it! I'm not sure what others consider to be junk, but I still have an addiction to our local frozen custard place and frequent it…
  • I am not the person who started this post, but I am going to answer you also. I started homeschooling my oldest daughter after 2 years of private and 2 years of public school because she asked me to. Are we Christian? Yes. Was that my reason? No. She has a learning disability that public school was not addressing properly.…
  • Welcome aboard!!
  • Wow, I really had no idea just how serious that this could have been for me. I actually waited it out for 14 hours of constant pain before deciding to go to the ER. Even when the doctors kept commenting on just how high my counts were, I didnt get it. I will be taking a very serious approach to my new eating habits. Thanks…
  • @BettyMargaret. I am really grateful now that my stay was only 5 days. I couldn't imagine being there longer. I saw 4 different doctors while there but only one took the time to talk to me about my diet now and how I might change it. It has me worried too, because the gallbladder you can do without, but not the pancreas.…
  • I had my gallbladder removed 7 years ago, although they still think that it could have been a stone clogging the duct. They were pretty much baffled as to the cause.
  • Yep, it happens to me too. I haven't eaten at McDonalds for a year and a half, but other restaurant foods will have that effect on me. It's my bodies way of asking me what the heck do I think I'm doing?? lol.
  • Find someone who does alterations now and ask them what they suggest. Sometimes a dress can only be taken in so much.
  • My favorite snack at night is pretzels. If I don't drink 8 cups of water during the day, I have to forgo my pretzels. I've only missed 2 days since giving myself that rule!

  • During the day isn't as bad as waking up out of a good sleep having to go!
  • I'm from Chambersburg - maybe 1 hour or a little more from York. I've done Jillian off and on and I get bored too. I would just turn her talking down since I knew what to do and listen to music. I'll switch between 30 Day Shred, Wii Personal Trainer, Golds Gym Dance Workout, and walking to keep me more interested in…
  • Awesome!! WTG!
  • Welcome to mfp! Feel free to friend me.
  • Everytime I have to buy a smaller size, I also buy 1 in the next size down to motivate me to keep going! And I immediately get rid of all the ones that are too big.
  • I agree that it's probably jealousy and her own issues with not succeeding in her attempt at weight loss. Smile and ignore it. Rely on those around you who are supportive! You've done a great job so far!
  • Sometimes I think that they honestly have no idea how hurtful their comments are. Just stay focused on your goal and rely on your friends here and your boyfriend for positive encouragement! 14 lbs is awesome! Keep it up!
  • When my kids set the table, they automatically set out the measuring cups and scale!
  • When I first decided to get healthier, that was the very first thing that I cut out. Surprisingly, my children didn't balk too much at the idea, considering they were used to it at least twice a month. We haven't had McDonalds in over 1 year now and none of us miss it!
  • Twins ARE cool!!
  • Bump. I'm looking for answers too. I have 4 kids with the last 2 being twins.
  • I started out with that philosophy, but as I am learning more about becoming healthy as opposed to just losing weight, I find that I don't want to eat all the things that I did before. Do I still have pizza, chocolate, frozen custard? Yes, sometimes. Am I losing weight? Yes. If I have cut a food out, it's because I chose…
  • I am a planner by nature. I plan my meals for the week, make a list, and stick to it at the store/farmers market. That eliminates foods from my shelves that I shouldn't be eating (well, most of the time!). Then I usually try to plug most of my day into the diary in the morning, so I know exactly what and how much I can eat…
  • Way to stick with it! Congrats!!
