  • Looking amazing! well done you :)
  • I'm not exercising! I put my weight loss to 1lbs a week and i can easily fit my 3 meals into the 1390 cals they suggest a day without exercising. But it feels really really wrong not exercising! If I do a bit of exercise, I have to eat loads, even when i'm full, just to make up 1200! I quite like exercising so this is…
  • I like Dexter! I also like Felix, Ridley and Elliot. Congratulations and hope eerything goes well :)
  • Quorn is an amazing subsitute for meat and they sell it in lots of different forms, like chicken-style pieces for things like stir fry's and fillets for casserole's etc. Tofu is also really nice (but sometimes hard to know how to use/cook - check the internet for recipes) I went to a chinese buffet the other week and they…

  • WOW! Looking great, keep up the great work :)
  • Hello! My worst time of day is right before bed. I love having a mug of hot chocolate before bed, it fills me up and it's tasty. Cadbury's do a 40 cal version called 'cadbury highlights' and it tastes like it should be way more than just 40 cals!

  • It depends what form they come in. I'm from the UK so will have different brands from you but I buy mine either as fillets or pieces. The pieces I defrost in the microwave and then pop in a stir fry (they take no time to cook and it doesn't matter if you cook them properly or not, because there is no dangers like there is…
  • yes! it was good motivation and on my way back i had to run past KFC and a pizza place and that motivated me even more :) Good luck with the 5 miles! Let me know how you get on. I will aim for 3 next time and try and cut down on the power walking and actually do more running. x
  • Well i think that's pretty impressive! I went this morning and thought about your comment about you bottom wobbling behind you and the though of mine doing the same was my motivation today. I did 2 and a half instead of my usual 2, although I have to admit a lot of it was power walking!
  • 4 miles a day? Wow! When i do run i normally aim for about 2. I would like to try this with you! i'm afraid I have a serious lack of motivation to do exercise at the moment though. My gym membership just ran out and I have nobody to exercise with, and it sucks doing it on your own. Maybe this goal will help!
  • I do not normally look at protein content for breakfast, maybe I will focus on that instead. And eggs seem to be a popular choice for breakfast too. And I like the sound of granola, yoghurt and fruit, I will have to give this a try! Yum! I really like Alpen Light cereal bars but I only tend to buy them when they are on…
  • Thanks everyone! So maybe try a slightly smaller breakfast but eat more often during the day? i don't think i'll have a probelm doing that! :)
  • Thanks for all the ideas. I will try them all and see which one works best. I don't really have much time in the mornings but they all seem easy enough. I like eating my lunch around 2ish because then i stay full until dinner but I will try taking a piece of fruit or a cereal bar with me and eating it at 11. I been having…
  • sounds amazing! i have the same problem with craving pasta all the time but it's so many carbs and calories! i will try this and let you know how it goes.
  • If I am cooking something like sausages or a curry one night, i tend to cook a little extra and then pop it in a tupperware tub and eat it cold for lunch the next day, or heat it up if you have access to a microwave/oven. I tend to pack a bit of salad with it too but sometimes cereal bars, sometimes yoghurt, whatever takes…
  • 15 minutes isn't as bad as you think! And you'll get better and better the more you do it so stick with it. I run quite a lot and I generally run for 15mins then walk for 10 then run again. Doing it like that means you can keep going without getting to tired!

  • Hey, and also welcome! If you are under your calorie count a lot and you are logging food as acurately as you can then maybe you are just eating the amount it says. Some days I find myself under by 200 or so and do the same as you and eat something just to make up the difference, but other days I struggle to stay within my…
  • That's great, realistic aims are always a good idea. I hope this site helps to keep you motivated to stay healthy and happy. Good luck!
  • Hello Shawn. Welcome to MFP. Yes it really is a good site. It really helps to keep track of everything. What are your goals?
  • Well done!
  • Hello. Well done on keeping within the calorie count so far. What are your goals? Im fairly new to MFP too but I'm finding it really useful to keep track of what i'm actually eating and burning. Feel free to add, and i'll do my best to keep you motivated. Everyone on here is really friendly too
  • Hello! Firstly, have fun at the gym! I would say the elliptical is a good machine to start with because you can go pretty slow and still burn a fair amount of calories, and its easy to change your speed depending on how energetic you're feeling. And dried fruit and nuts are a good idea. I normally eat a banana before i go…
  • Hello! I joined MFP last week and I'm already finding it really useful. Being able to keep track of you calories is really good help. What are your goals? Good luck!
  • Well done to both of you on the weight loss! Keep up the good work
  • Hi Diane, You're in the right place! It's so useful to keep track of everything using the food and exercise diary, I think it will really help. Good luck!

  • Loving all these suggestions, will have to try some out! I find frozen grapes work really well for me if i'm craving something sweet. They are healthy but it really feels like you're eating mini ice-lollies! I eat them a lot instead of a pudding at dinner time
  • I'm new too, but like you, i think it's amazing too! It makes keeping track of everything so much easier. I'm aiming to lose about 25lbs. Good luck, let me know how you get on!
  • Well done! It's such a confidence boost when someone notices. Keep up the good work
  • Hi guys, i'm new too. I only joined on thursday but I'm finding logging my food and exercise on here is already really helping me to stay motivated. What are your goals? I'm hoping to reach about 140lbs, and I'm about 165lbs at the moment. Good luck!
