All the research I have read says to never reward a weight loss goal with food. Food is what made us overweight to begin with, your rewarding the behavior you are trying to get rid of. If you want to eat at this restaurant, fit it into your calories for the day. You should not be cutting out the things you love, because it…

That is me! Thank you so much for the kind words!!!! I know that feeling about regretting how I felt. I was chasing an ideal image that was not me, and had to learn to love me!

All of these are great answers, thank you!!! When I have moments where I am like I wish I looked like X...I often remind myself how far I have come, and it is a work in progress. Do any of you do this?

I have been lifting for about a year. Increasing my weight slowly (I lift alone without a spotter). I hated lifting, but now I really love it. I will admit I hate the stares, but in the end they motivate me more. I have thought about doing a BF% however, I want to have more children (I have two), so if I go too low, this…

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! Thank you!!!

This is the program I have used in the gym: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-eason-livefit-trainer.html I love it and I have had some of the best results from that program. I have definition in places I did not know existed. I can also do pull ups and chin ups on my own no problem. You can print off the workout each…

"Red" is real good and fits with what you mentioned. Three Days Grace's new album is great. Also to run I LOVE Timbaland's Shock value I and II and David Guetta. My Ipod honestly runs from Rihanna, Pink, Breaking Benjamin, Of Monsters and Men, Nonpoint, Maroon 5, Kenny Chesney, etc...

This is a great post! I am doing it correctly.

This is the honest truth! Unless you want IT band issues, Achilles tendon issues, etc, starting out with that many miles would be detrimental to your goal. I am speaking from experience. I went from a running a small amount of miles to running nearly 40 for three weeks straight, and I hurt myself. It took me out of the…

AMAZING!!!!!! You go girl, keep up all the great work.

Every single one you listed I have used. I have even used my husband is deployed, I am in the Army too, I get enough exercise. Heck I even chase my kids around. When in reality I would cram for a PT test and stress about my physical fitness. I over came it by working out again. I remembered how good I felt afterwards.…

Think of all the amputees that are out there running, biking, swimming etc. Wounded Warriors always put things in perspective for me!

As long as you are well hydrated before you start your run you should not need to drink before you start. Drinking a large amount of liquid could actually slow you down. Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day and you should not have a problem.

HIgh five to you too!!! Welcome! Feel free to add me and I will send good karma!

To get faster you have to run faster. Interval training is the best way (you also burn more calories this way than just running). Also for every pound you lose you "should" cut 4 seconds off your mile time (this really is a lot). Last, when I started truly lifting with my legs (squats, leg press, etc) I got faster. I use…

Amazing. You are doing a great job! Keep up the outstanding work!

It will be summer so you can go out and walk, run, jump rope, hike, swim, etc. Also body weight exercises are great, pushups, squats, sit ups, etc. Shape's website has a lot of these. Investing in a few different weights might be really good too, 5lbs, 10lbs and 15lbs should get you through the summer (unless you can lift…

That informatoin (study) you quoted is in a book I am reading, and even the author(s) say that 800 calories is way too low!

I was in college, and was "that girl," socially awkward, unattractive, and almost 200lbs (I am just under 5'5"). One night on the weekend, some drunk person pulled the fire alarm in our dorms and I had to climb 17 flight of stairs. I simply could not do it. I was embarrassed as people were flying up the stairs past me. I…

Night time eating. I feel like I should be in a fasting state from 8pm to 8am, but I am still eating at 10pm. I would like to fast for 12 hours, but when I am still eating when I go to bed, this is hard. I cannot move my breakfast time to hit the 12 hours, so I would like to try and eat all my calories before 8pm.

I weigh daily. I find it motivational to be honest, and at times disheartening. A weight fluctuation of a couple pounds for me is normal (especially before my period). However, the daily weigh-ins gives me an idea of where I truly am at, and motivation. If the number does not move (and I am not in maintenance) or goes up,…
