@MacMadame The doctors at the emergency albeit not experts said that they reccemmend liquid or gummy because I won't absorb capsules as well. I've notice in my prescription medicine as well that gels or liquids prove more effective than pills. @IsMollyReallyHungry Thanks so much! trying to get back into a routine I can…

lol, of course. Sounds good to me

So Oakland-ish! Been living in the SF Bay for nearly 3 years now after being born and raised in Dixie ^-^

Thanks so much for the perspective! I guess 1)I'm from the Southeast where things are generally inexpensive and I'm cheap  and 2) As I said before I've never paid gym memberships. Except for my neighbourhood rec center back in my hometown, they have a small gym with a few elliptical/treadmills and a couple weight…

I was posed over my keyboard, ready to spend $100 (which is a lot for me as I'm in Americorps and live in the SF Bay area with their high living expenses) on a FitBit. I thought yea this would be good. and then, something clicked. $100, you're ready to dole. You may end up using it continuously you may not. But if you…

My goal was 200 I believe. After much discussion (at the free clinic) I realised I can't bank my whole cardio load on transportation (i.e walking/biking to and fro) so it didn't include about 7-10 miles of walking to work, grocery, etc. Makes it a bit more of a time challenge

Week 1 ended at 175 minutes. Better luck this week for me.
-
Well I went swimming last saturday. that was fun. Bought the inner tube for my bike so we're getting there. And so far this week I've done 80 minutes of cardio.

Week of Nov 28 Monday: We Cheer (don't laugh, that game burns when u get into it) 40 min Tuesday: Walked 10 minutes during break, We Cheer 30 min Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday 80/300

Hi y'all I had the surgery in May 2002. when I was 16 years old. 4'11" and my highest weight was 415. Grew to 5'3"-ish I've been as low as 210 (in January of 2004, I was sick though). and as high as 282 (December 2008). Currently sittng at around 250-ish. Aiming for 215 in May 2012, my 10 year anniversary. Sometimes I…

To get my bike fixed. manly to save time and money from the bus. Go swimming once a week. Aim for 5 hours a week of cardio.

Well this week has gone okay so far. I've started trying to exercise a bit in the morning and some at night. Don't laugh, but I've been playing my wii I know a lot of people hate on the Wii, but We Cheer and Zumba is good. If you pay attention to mimic-ing the moves (much like a dance/aerobic video) instead of getting a…

So I started trying to think of a plan. Woke up a little earlier today and after my knee stretches (from an old softball injury) I did some weights with my 10# dumbells - 3 sets of 15 bicep curls - 3 sets of 15 tricep extension per arm - 3 sets of 12 of... I forget what is called. - 1 set of press I Walked to work as…

You guys have really got me re-inspired. So I can't afford a gym membership (on the waiting list for the lottery for the lowincome YMcA rate) at home I have:: 2 10lb dumb bells. 1 big body ball a dyna band a stretch band with the black handles zumba the wii game (don't judge me :P)

You are the 5th person to mention get a pedometer...so I'm going to use one. I already have one so really no excuse. Luckily I do work in office full of construction, americorps, and involved people so getting up and walking around is something I can do. Will need to do it a bit more. I'm a pedestrian in Oakland but I have…

The reason I walk is 2-fold. I need the exercise and I think it's ridiculous to pay $2.00 to travel 1.5 miles (bus fare) and then walk a half mile to the office. Save it for the rainy season. I recently found out that there's a farmer's market that has a box of fruits and veggies for $18.00 and food stamps covers it.…

There's a version of this type of noodle that's shaped like fettucine. I saw it at Nijiya ( a japanese grocery store in SF) yesterday. They don't take EBT though so I'm going to see if I can find them in another store first.
-
I love how shirataki noodles are a "new thing" well it's just a discovery thing. I just found out about Earth balance(vegan buttery spread) this year and I've lived in the SF Bay area for almost 2 years. I use to hate it my grandma made me eat shirataki noodles but now I'm starting to appreciate them. Here's what I've…

Brands are so so different. I noticed high quality and costlier (not always the same thing) have more generous sizing. For instance all my suits are 16-18 and fit great. But when I go to the store that's in my price range these days (think Citi Trends, Cato's) I wear a 20-22. I never forget one time I got a pair of sz 16…

@Lelliebugh That's a really great tip! For us city dwellers, try stopping at the stop before your "regular stop" and walking to your destination. I do that and I think the little bit helps. @abzbargs I guess that's why the experts say you have to switch it up every now and again and have a "palette of fitness choices"…
-
I second Leslie's walk of the pounds. The music bores me to tears, but you might like it. If not, do what I do. Since it's a fairly easy routine to follow I just lower her volume and play my music through my speakers. When I'm away from my home I listen to my mp3 player headphones while doing the routine with the volume…

So this will be more than just a "bump" post. I've noticed since I've moved to Cali, where I walk more just to get around that I have to work harder to lose weight. My body's mostly adjusted to me walking an average of 10 miles a week (and that's probably a lowball average, I know for a fact I walked at least 15 week…

Thanks! I'm gonna have a nice little goody bag for this journey. My flight leaves at midnite but I have to travel the night before so I'll probably sleep during the day and won't be able to sleep on the plan. I sometimes snore too, so I tried to avoid sleeping on the plane unless I'm really relaxed (which is rare) I have…

nomoreplus_sizes because I'm aiming to get out of the plus size section!

bumping this in the hopes for more insight

My second reply: It's hard to say what my favourite activity is, I have a pretty short attention span so I like to switch the cardio up. Strength training is the thing I do without any needed motivation. Which may be why I've lost 1lb in the past month but lost 2 inches in my waist :P I like dance/aerobic videos. I have…

I had my surgery 9 years ago this month. I truly believe had I not, I'd probably be dead right now. I was 15 5 foot even and weighed 415lbs. Let's not get into blaming others (parents, family, school) because in the end it really was my own doing and little childhood trauma. I admit that I didn't want to have it at first,…
