  • Just found this thread and excited to use it for some extra accountability! My mini goals for the next month or so: * Increase my protein intake and eat more than 100g a day (120g ideal but I want to be realistic) * Be in the 180s by Thanksgiving. I am bouncing around 193 right now so I want to be 4-5 lbs lighter in a…
  • I would like to join even though I'm a bit late! Original starting weight - Technically 192 back in 2015, but I've fluctuated so much I'm basically restarting now November starting weight - 185.5 November goal - 179.5 Ultimate goal - 145 November 1st - 185.5 November 8th - November 15th - November 22nd - November 28th -…
  • I ran my first marathon this year after running 8 or so half marathons. The training was definitely much more intense and it took much more planning during the week. It was the hardest physical thing I've ever done, but it was such a great experience looking back. I got to listen to a lot of great podcasts and audiobooks…

  • Buy a Starbucks tumblr to put your homemade creamy coffee drinks in. Trick your mind that you're still getting the brand treats ;) I would also put $5 into a savings jar every time you skip the Starbucks line. At the end of the month, use that money to buy yourself something that you've been wanting that gives you the same…
  • I don't have any marathon-specific advice for you, but I wanted to say that I am also running the WDW Marathon in January as my first full marathon! I also run in the 11-12 min range. I have run a handful of half marathons (running my 5th this weekend), and this is the only time that I have successfully lost 10 or so…
  • I know your struggle :( I have always sucked up running in capris during the summer because being slightly too warm on a run was better than the chafing nightmares that come from shorter shorts that ride up all the time. I have been looking for some short options again though, and I think something like this might work for…
  • Why is the gym a no no? How is that impacting your marriage? If you can't get jazzed about an at-home workout but love the gym, it confuses me why you have to do something you dislike. But the good thing is that you don't have to work out at all to lose weight. Get started by accurately tracking your food and eating in a…
  • I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that when you look at the differences in sizing in larger sizes (18+) they have a larger variance between sizes than smaller sizing (i.e. there's more inches between 16 and 18 than you can expect between an 8 and a 10). The smaller you get, it shouldn't take as many pounds to drop sizes. It…

  • Well I feel a bit like I'm just starting again, since I'm the weight I was on July 29 when I first saw this thread... Here's hoping for a smaller number next week! • Well this is no good.. I'm moving in the wrong direction :( I've been decent food wise, so I'm hoping some of this is pre-TOM water weight. Gotta kick it into gear or I won't get close to 40 lbs lost! Challenge SW (Jul 29): 183 Dec 25 GW: 143 07/31/16- 183.8 08/07/16- 183.9 08/14/16- 08/21/16- 08/28/16- 09/04/16- 09/11/16-…

  • Being 40 lbs lighter by Christmas would be amazing! Not sure I'll make it, but it would be great since I'm going on a cruise in January. HW: 192 CW: 183 GW by 12/25: 143
  • Wow this board has slowed down a lot... I have definitely fell off the weight loss train this week. My husband and I are in the process of buying our first home, and there were some complications with the financing side of things. Needless to say, we took advantage of the free food coupons instead of cooked - and I dug…
  • She probably has a lower body fat percentage, so more of her weight is coming from lean muscle versus fat. Your body also might carry the weight differently than hers which would impact things like pant size. Maybe you are pear shaped so more weight is in your hips and thighs while she has a more even distribution or apple…
  • 16 days and only 7 more runs until my next half marathon! It's largely downhill so I'm hoping for a PR... I've been struggling with getting three runs in a week though :/ 4/1 - Group Power (cross training) 4/2 - 8 miles 4/3 - Rest 4/4 - Spinning (cross training) 4/5 - 4 miles 4/6 - Walk 4/7 - Unplanned rest day 4/8 - Walk…
  • Hope everyone is having a relaxing week on our way to India! I personally hate Yoga and I'm trying so hard to have the patience to do the video challenge this week... Anyone know any good Yoga for Runners videos? Something shorter than 30 minutes preferably!
  • Thanks for updating that, Pat! I'm excited for an active week... it's my last week of half marathon training before I start my two-week taper period. Hoping I can actually make my strength classes this week as well. Happy Monday, everyone!
  • Women shouldn't drop below 10-13% body fat... and you should have low enough body fat to see abs way before that mark as a woman. I'd recommend getting down to 15% and reevaluating. Like another poster recommend - progressive lifting program!
  • I range between 1300-1500. Here's one day last week that was particularly filling (1,483 cals): Breakfast: 120g nonfat plain Greek yogurt, 52g Honey Almond Flax Koshi, 3 strawberries Mid-morning snack: Hard-boiled egg, 2 stalks of celery w/ 1 tbsp peanut butter, skinny mocha from Starbucks Lunch: Salad mix w/3oz chicken…
