  • Thanks Everybody! :)
  • If you have a desk job, your activity level should be set at sedentary. MFP wants to know what your typical day is like to determine the amount of calories you should eat without working out being considered. Then when you log your workouts you gain more calories you are allowed to "eat back" for that day.
  • I don't know if it's accurate because I've never calculated my calories with a heart rate monitor, but this is what I do... I'm there about an hour, so I split up the entry (depending on what the WOD was) between Calisthenics (pushups, sit-ups), vigorous effort, and Aerobics, high-impact, and Mild Stretching

  • My Boyfriend and I just made Tilapia last night...it was delicious. We cooked it on the grill and each serving was individually wrapped in tin foil. Spray the tin foil will non-stick cooking spray, slice up potatoes (we used red potatoes) and put them on the foil as the first layer, then slice up onion as the second layer,…
  • Try running outside...I'm not the best runner (pretty slow and I shuffle)...running for me is mostly a mental thing, I get bored soooo easily. I used to run on a treadmill and then I started running outside. I find it a million times better. It seems easier for me both mentally and physically. I got on a treadmill about a…
  • Tuna fish (prepared how you like) with triscuits. Part skim ricotta cheese with strawberries and sliced almonds. Chocolate chip scones (homemade of course...you can find a bunch of healthy recipes online...and they are easier to make than you think)
  • I put it under Circuit Training. You could also put it under Calisthenics...the MFP calculations for both turn out the same.
  • Hello Everyone! My name is Caitlin. I'm 25 and have been a little over weight my whole life. At the begining of the year my Dad and my brother decided to get serious about getting healthy and getting in shape. Weight has been creeping up on all of us for a while, so we are trying to kick it in the butt before it gets out…
  • My nutritionist told me that you should only add more calories to your day if you work out for more than an hour and then you should only add a snack of 100-150 calories. You might be able to add a little more because you are male, but you shouldn't add too many more calories.
  • 1200-1600 calories is a large range. I would try to narrow the range to stay more consistent. If you want to weigh 135, I would think 1300-1400 calories a day should be good. I see a nutritionist and she told me that I don't need to be increasing my calorie intake when I'm working out unless it's for more than an…
  • Sounds fun!
  • There are many studies that link low-fat diets to depression. If you are cutting back fat too much, add it back into your diet.
  • Hot tea helps me, especially if you get a flavor that makes you feel like you're cheating...like green tea with mint, or gingerbread.
