What's the point if you aren't going to change your lifestyle? The majority of people will simply gain the weight back. And what about health? I'd rather be healthy, not just skinny. I'm not saying we should never treat ourselves or have processed food, but none of us would be on this site to begin with if eating **** in…

I refuse! LOL! I'm eating smaller portions of starches instead. I don't know what your macro's are set to but I go by MFP default which is about 55% carbs. Fine by me! You can make pasta with spaghetti squash instead of noodles. It's so easy! Just cut the squash in half, scoop out the seeds and gunk, and put in the oven at…

Not everyone fits into the same shoes. When you're already battling several obstacles and one more stacks up it could be enough to make someone binge eat. I hate the, "If I can do it anyone can" argument. You aren't everyone- just you!

Ginger. BLECH!

Larabars and Green Smoothie Juices like Naked or Bolthouse Farms. Don't care if they are good for you, they taste good. LOL

Well, unlike most of the commenter's on this post, I would like to actually read the book before forming a (negative) opinion.

Personally I have never had an issue gaining weight on birth control, but birth control is to blame for many unwanted side effects so it wouldn't surprise me. Is there any chance you can switch to another birth control? I don't know what method you are using but if you are on the pill you might have success on another…

That is a really long time to be veggie/vegan and quit. Just out of curiosity, why did you go back??

Well, I consider myself a "dairytarian" but I'm currently on a vegan challenge and have committed myself not to eat meat for 30 days. My husband is a full-time vegan. Maybe I am clueless, but I really don't keep track of "30% this" or "40% that". I just eat clean foods, and hope that I will meet my "goals" on myfitnesspal.…

I'm sure someone out there thinks that it's terrible for you, but I prefer it over soy. I drink unsweetened.

How do you do *any* diet on a budget? It's really no different than a diet that includes meat. In fact, you should start saving on a vegetarian diet because of the price of meat. Cut out processed food and start cooking. Quinoa, rice, lentils and dried beans are always things that I have on hand. Inexpensive and they go a…

Who am I to tell you what's wrong or right? It's not what I choose to eat, but it's YOUR body and do whatever you please.

Is this a troll post? I mean, honestly? You are living off soy milk, bread and nut butter and you don't understand why you are feeling weak? You need to do some serious studying about diet before you land yourself in the hospital. There is more to a vegan diet than bread and soy milk. Not only are you restricting calories…

I'm not really vegan but I am doing a vegan 30 day challenge right now to help with weight loss and work through some food issues. My husband and several of our best friends are vegan. I have been dairy-free for years but I do intend to go back to eating my organic meat in 30 days. I like the diet so far! Tons of energy…

There are so many to list. This website shows you hundreds of options: http://www.todaysdietitian.com/newarchives/063008p28.shtml

I will still enjoy a glass of wine or beer every now and again, as well as a piece of dark chocolate.

Personally, the calories on the menu's HAVE persuaded me into making better choices. Often the things I intended on ordering are the higher calorie items on the menu so I would change my mind at the last minute in fear of having the waitress think I was a total cow. LOL Maybe start showing some pictures of obese people and…

I don't eat fast food or highly processed food. I'd rather make the same thing at home with real ingredients. There's a lot more to weight loss than calories- just my opinion!

I'm 5'1" and my goal weight is 125. This is on the chunky side for me, but I just feel like if I can get that small it will be a miracle. So I've set a more "realistic" goal, and if I reach it maybe I'll keep going.

OMG ... I hope this is a troll post.

Lettuces are devoid of nutrition? What are you talking about? Believe it or not, romaine lettuce is 17% protein with 7.7 grams per head. It is also a complete protein! That means that it has all 8 essential amino acids, 9% RDA of some and up to 26% RDA of others. One head of romaine has 206mg of calcium (about 21% RDA).…

I have noticed that lately if I eat red meat, or "gut bombs" like hamburgers, taco's, etc that I almost instantly get heartburn. As far as junk foods I don't really notice the toll on my body until the following day. I have less energy, tension headaches, migraines, afternoon fatigue. It's crazy because I used to have that…

I second this.

My deficit is also 1200 calories, but I always exercise so I can eat more. Breakfast is usually two eggs and a piece of fruit, or oatmeal w/ almond milk and fruit. I like to eat Natures Path oatmeal packets, the flax kind, because I'm totally lazy in the A.M. and don't want to cook oatmeal. LOL! I also like green…

It sounds like maybe he is intimidated by your self improvement and he's trying to discourage you into quitting. Sometimes when people eat healthy or exercise it makes people who are not eating that way or exercising angry because they feel like you are saying their lifestyle is wrong. So maybe he feels like he is being…

Always buy produce in season, and also do some comparison shopping and find out which stores offer the best prices. Also, check for CSA's in your area. You can often save on your bill by joining one. Another thing, when I switched to healthy eating at first I thought I would keep buying convenience foods but switch to…

Exactly! I noticed at the health food store that they carry "nitrite free" bacon... except those "naturally occurring" in celery. And I wondered, why does my bacon have celery in it? Given that sodium nitrate occurs naturally in foods like spinach, carrots and celery, as well as the fact that nitrite has never been shown…

I'm not vegan but I eat very clean and also react the same way now to processed foods. In fact, there are some foods that I absolutely won't eat, ever because within 30 minutes of consuming them I will have a migraine. I also tend to get bouts of fatigue and depression after eating processed foods. It could be a number of…

I could use some friends on here!
