I've seen many women who wear hijab at the gym in my area. I've never thought anything about it. If there is someone making you uncomfortable at your gym you could try going at a different time or talk to the staff about the issue. Try not to let yours or other's thoughts from keeping you staying healthy. You can do it!

Ten weeks of keto today and I have lost 32 pounds. The husband has lost 35 :) It is fantastic! Anyone feel free to friend me! It's always nice to be friends with those who have similar plans and goals.

Very good! It's all the small steps combined that form the great bounds in progress. Keep it up :)

This is such an awesome victory! I find these little ones to be better than number related ones! Keep it up, you're doing well.

I gained 70 pounds with my daughter, lost 50 of it and then regained all 50 back. So now I'm back trying to lose it all again! Highest weight was 238, I'm now at 221 my goal is 145. I know we can all do it!

Good luck! That is my and my husband's plan too. We are only a week in but things are already changing for the better. Just think what will give you more satisfaction; a piece of food or knowing you stuck to your plan.

Hi, I'm also looking for people who are serious and give encouragement. I log in everyday, I have a three year old daughter, I'm married, third year college student trying to get into a nursing program, and trying to get healthier. Add me if you'd like!

Whether they were refering to if she was jiggling is irrelevant. It was a rude and mean comment directed at anyone. I'm happy that you're working hard to better yourself. It would have taken a lot of will power for me to not rip out my earbuds and inform them of their awfulness. Keep working hard on becoming healthier.…

Congratulations on your accomplishments!

Well this is assuming that you AREN'T taking in protein sources. If that were the case, then your body would break down lean tissue. You aren't wrong, but the body has to be in a certain state for what you saying will happen. A.C.E. Certified Personal and Group Fitness Trainer IDEA Fitness member Kickboxing Certified…

Not quite accurate: gluconeogenesis /glu·co·neo·gen·e·sis/ (gloo″ko-ne″o-jen´ĕ-sis) the synthesis of glucose from molecules that are not carbohydrates, such as amino and fatty acids. [/quote] how am I wrong? Your body is made from proteins which are made from amino acids. And according to my clinical nutrition book the…

I'm gonna start saying random animals to save threads... bump is too boring. With that said, Squids!

GLUCOSNEOGENOSIS. Essentially your body eats it's own tissue, which is harmful over a long period of time. First to go is the liver, which is mightily important to life.
-
Also out of curiosity what the heck would your diet consist of if you didnt eat dairy meat or carbs? Mustard, parsley, and coffee? I think that someone would have an awful time living a nutrient dense life while eliminating ALL of those things.
-
Physiologically speaking you do NEED carbs. To fuel your brain, or else it doesn't run properly.
-
Yay! Congratulations those are the best moments.
-
I'm glad to hear a positive story! Also thank you everyone for your encouragement!

You can do it fancycupcake! I too think it's a great trade :) I'm so much happier now being 50 pounds overweight than I was when I was only 10 pounds overweight, I can't imagine what I'll be like when I get back to being at goal.
