  • Ya... you have two problems. 1. you are there to workout these guys are there to workout AND meet women 2. these are guy types that think their method of doing things is the only way to do things.
  • thanks for the input. no thinking and fast is what I need. 9-10 hour work days and toddler not helping in getting the workouts in. No time to be hanging around a gym for the fun of it. If I can get my husband on board. I'm already up at 5am and if he'll do toddler duty I can get out of the house and be done before getting…
  • Or maybe what guys like or don't like is not their biggest concern in life. Perhaps they are doing what is right for them and not society or societies arbitrary expectations. Perhaps they feel a man that accepts them for who they are is more important that attracting a mate based on physical characteristics. Perhaps they…
  • Dinner made I don't even care if it's romantic Toddler bathed Toddler put to bed To watch my darn scifi instead of sports. my *kitten* with nothing to do but sit on the couch for 1 darn night the truth is I'm just friggin' exhausted b/n stress at work and home and need a break, not something else to do on a Thursday night.
  • once upon a time I lost a lot of weight by tracking food and calories. I found I started naturally making better food choices b/c I was going to be starving if I ate tiny amounts of high calorie foods rather than lots of low calorie foods. example: I'd eat a HUGE salad (veggies only) with 2 tbsp of vinagerette (measuring…
  • I thought they were nasty when I ate them... not worth the calories.
  • I've never had to concern myself with this arguement because I'm lactose intolerant and allergic to dairy proteins. So for me milk is bad news. Always has been. What I object to is that fact that the dairy industry has convinced everyone that you can't be healthy without cows milk. That your children can't be healthy…
  • OP. my 2 cents... and I'm a hypocrit b/c I haven't suceeded in doing this myself yet. eat plant based diet whole foods only eliminate processed foods eliminate refined foods eliminate soda, candy, alcohol no fast food it's designed to make you want more
  • I'm not going to quibble numbers with you. Losing weight has never been an exact science and we are constantly learning new ways our bodies work and the rules change or are editted a bit. I'm not sure if you meant to come off preachy and self-righteous but you have. Your THAT person that found the right combo for you and…
  • You will get a world of opinions. Some people think you can't live without it and others think it's the leading cause of disease. I'm allergic so have grown up without it and I am just fine. I see it like this. It is like any other type of food. Moderation. You don't have to have it to be healthy. You can make up its…

  • My daughter and I are allergic to dairy. Not just lactose intolerant we actually have an allergic reaction to dairy proteins. My husband just decided for simplicity to drink the same almond milk we do "unsweetened original almond breeze" and he found he likes it better than store bought milk. I send Hemp Milk to her…
  • Evidently the men that are on MFP are very evolved and do not rate women's looks. Good for you guys. In the social science world studies have been done regarding this issue. What they found was that people usually paired up with people that rated on about the same attractive scale as themselves. Many studies have been done…
  • I don't know if it's because I never had one until I was 26 (mom NEVER bought them) or I'm just weird but I think Pop Tarts are awful. No chore for me to leave them alone.
  • If you don't want the synthetic sweetners.... Stevia sweetened sodas work well too. While sometimes the flavor of these sodas is a little off when drinking them you don't notice in this cake... also cola chicken with the stevia sweetened soda work well too. can cola over chicken breast in crockpot until done. yum
  • I'm 5' 6" and looking to be 150 pounds. It seems a little high compared to everyones goals but I was happy with my body when I was close to that before. I have a large bone structure with broad shoulders and so 150 fits me well. I'm about a size 10 at that weight.
  • Wonderful feeling! Congratulations.
  • Ahh yes. Abstinence is best but oh such a bore sometimes. I love the meal in a glass beer myself but usually only partake when I can get it on tap. Since I'm old and married with a 4 year old I don't get to the bar much any more. Took care of that. Now my drink of choice is red wine... might not be a problem if drinking 5…
  • Hi new here as well. Lost lots of weight (75 lbs) years ago with WW and then marriage and baby and here I am again :) Came from a paid food diary site that didn't offer aps for iPad and Android. The single biggest reason for my success on WW years ago was logging my food intake. Weighing and measuring EVERYTHING. No…
  • Pretty much the diet while using HCG is 500 calories a day. I don't believe that is a healthy way to lose weight. I would research it before trying it. When I looked into it I felt that it was not a good option for a permanent lifestyle change that would lead to a lifetime of healthy eating.

  • 11 lbs in 4 weeks is GREAT !!! Most studies have shown that people who successfully keep off the weight they lose are those that lost at a moderate rate of 1-2 pounds per week. So while I understand the desire to lose quickly you are really doing wonderfully. Once upon a time (b4 childbirth) I lost 64 pounds.... some weeks…
  • I've had this problem and also woken in the middle of the night and had growling stomach. Drank a cup of Almond Milk and that stopped the growling and I was able to sleep fine.
  • I can only tell you what my trainer told me. The readings from those types of scale can be very dependent on a lot of biological variables that will effect the readings. She said you can use it to get a general trend but you can't count on it for accurate body fat measurement.... they are useful to keep track over time to…
  • I think it's a matter of preference... I always felt like running outside was "harder". That is totally subjective and based on no real evidence. I also just like being outside.
  • I'm totally with you. Up at 5am, daughter up at 5:45, daycare by 6:30, work 7-4, home at 5pm, dinner, actually spend a little time with my daughter if I'm lucky, DD in bed by 8pm, ... hmmmm exercise or fall on the couch. I'm doing T & Th lunch circuit training for weights but need the cardio... thinking of doing C25K for…
  • I'm a huge fan of The Firm but sounds like you need something more immediate. Sparkpeople has workouts. Does your cable provider have an exercise on demand channel.
  • In Austin,TX .... the front ripped through around 3AM tossing everything around and dropping temps but luckily we aren't getting any precipitation just cold weather. Good luck to all of you north of us.
  • I like iceberg also not only b/c I just like it but it lasts longer in the fridge. Big fan of radishes and purple cabbage which lasts a long time in the fridge.
  • Someone in my circuit training class once asked the instructor..... "If we only have time to do one thing for working out what would you do?" The instructor hands down said the elliptical. With the instructions that you have to do it properly to get the maximum benefit. That means: pumping your arms, standing upright DO…
  • Any 5k or 10k I've been in has lots of people at different levels. I think a 10 min/mile is a respectable time. I wouldn't worry about it sounds like you'll be in the middle of the pack... your not going to be leading the charge but you won't be left in the dust either. Unless you are a serious competitive runner then 5K…
  • It's tasty and very nutritious. It's great addition to your diet in moderation. Make your own and you can control the calories better. Premade probably has a lot more oil than necessary.
