  • Just wanted to share with you that I suffer from depression also. I have struggled with it for about 12 years now and have been on medication, but stopped when I was pregnant and never went back on. Last year was really bad for me, I found myself having a really hard time just doing the basics (laundry, cleaning etc.) much…

  • There is always hope. :flowerforyou: Try changing your exercises...try a new class or walk or run on the treadmill, or do the elliptical. Your body gets used to doing the same exercises so change it up every 4-6 weeks maybe. Try adding more weight to your strength training, don't worry about getting "big muscles" you…
  • I had my first baby at 32, my second at 34, my third at 36, and my fourth at 42. I was in better shape for the last one and it was my easiest pregnancy.
  • Unfortunately, making a lifestyle change takes time. Veggies is a great start, if not a vegatarian, add some turkey or chicken breast and its even better. Chocolate cravings are something I fight with daily, I found that I can eat some chocolate in moderation on a daily basis. I like the 3 Muskateers mint chocolates. Also…

  • Not to be a downer, but wait till the 40's come around, my metabolism died, and everything shifted...down!:grumble: Wish I had started earlier too, I waited until 46.
  • Congrats on the weight loss.:drinker: I know how hard it can be with kids in the house to watch what your eat. You have definitely given me a lift to know that with some hard work and persistance it can be done. My goal is the same as yours, to get to about 120 pounds and stay close to that weight long term. Again great…
  • I want to thank you for the great site, I've printed off a number of wonderful recipes that I can't wait to try. The best thing is, I will actually enjoy eating them because I'll know how many calories right up front and not have to guess. The Whoopie Pies are first on my list to try. Thank you again!!!! Dessert is…
  • Lets see, my favorite breakfast is 2 egg whites on a slice of pumpernickel bread and a banana, for lunch my favorite is a salad, with either turkey or chicken in it, and my favorite dinner is 1 cup broccoli, with 1/2 cup brown rice, some onion, and roasted red peppers, garlic and again 3 oz of either chicken or turkey. My…
  • I believe that for every decade your metabolism slows down some and you lose muscle which makes it harder to lose weight. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn, the more exercise you do the better your metabolism works. Hope this helps.
  • Congrats on having only 7 lbs to go, great job!! What I understand about hitting a plateau is that your body has adjusted to your routine. You may want to change your excercises completely. Do a completely different workout. If you usually use a treadmill, use the bike instead, if you take a particular class, try a…
  • I read that when you work out in the morning, if you are doing an aerobic workout, you tend to burn fat more easily because you dont have that much energy from food, so your body burns what it has. Not sure how accurate this is, but I've been working out first thing in the morning and have had good results.
  • I just want to give some encouragement to those of you not seeing any progress. Stick with it, I went through the same thing, I was working out 4 to 5 days a week for 6 weeks before I lost any weight. It's frustrating but stick with it!!! Something that helped me was, really keeping track of what I ate, it was a real eye…
