  • Magnesium actually backs me up, so maybe you are reacting to that. I had a similar problem, when taking homeopathic magnesium supplement daily. The chia seeds weren't helping anymore, then I red rosehips, which good for many things including BM (says the Internet and many articles I've seen..). I have been taking 5g of…
  • I totally agree Flossy! I'm still learning to feel and see myself as I am on the outside and I've been in 'maintainance' since mid 2014. It's still strange to see my body slimmer in the mirror. And yes, I need to look at that new body everyday and say good job, you look really good! My body is far from perfect and I have…
  • I here ya flossy! Self sabotage at it's best. I know it well. No real fast day this week and only one low day. My cold still has it's grip on me. Hoping a quiet weekend will help clear it up. Have a good weekend.
  • @CooCooPuff - I did quite a few weeks with 3 fasts at the end of 2016 because the weekends were food laden... I fasted Mo / Tu / Th, thus did B2Bs. Tbh - when I started 5:2 in 2013 I probably would have had trouble with a B2B. When I did them in Nov/Dec the B2B usually went OK and the Thursday fast was often between…
  • Definitely not a fail Karen!
  • Yes Mama...I'm glad it's 19h here. I'm also on tea only, so CHEERS!
  • YES!! B)
  • ^^definitely and not having much cal dense stuff in the cupboards ;-)
  • Well...Monday's fast went well. I abandoned todays fast mid-afternoon. Was just hungry all day. No hunger waves...thus today was a low day at 1200 but not a fast. Will fast again on Thursday. Just before I disappear to the mountains for a bit of snow shoeing and good times with friends over the weekend ;)
  • Everything is allowed. I prefer two meals, 100-150 cals for lunch and rest for dinner. Lots of veggies and lean protein. Grain carbs make me hungry thus I avoid them on fast days. It's all trial and error until you know, what allows you to make your fast as easy as possible.
  • Heehee. Yes I am also aquainted with the 'why did I over do it, I know better' days :# And after a fast I remember why I fast ;) Fasting today...dinner and tai chi class with tea for dessert is my plan for the evening :)
  • I'd cook it myself, if I were you, but then I'm just not a take away person. Much less salt and MSG, no strange fats and thickeners and other ingredients. Then it's yummy and good for you ;-) I've actually changed over to thai flavored food in the last few years. So easy to cook and yummy. Stir fry veggies, sweet potato or…
  • Awesome job! Weightloss is as much a journey to your innerself as it is to your outerself. Sounds like you mastered both. Congratulations!
  • Thanks Flossy. The reason I started with the 2.5-3 fasts was, that my cals on my normal days were nilling out my two fasts....Thus I was gaining with two fasts. I'm getting better with my cals on normal days and I agree with you, two fasts should be enough then. Because my weekly cals were never really low, I can't imagine…
  • Karen - you don't seem to have that much to lose. 1kg/3weeks seems a good loss for you. Celebrate!
  • Not my week for losing...2.5 fasts and I'm 0.7kg up from last friday...bm have been very slow...don't know why. Chia, rosehips, tumeric and hot water are not helping much. Veggies are up protein ok and grain carbs are low. Maybe it's because my vacation routine is over and I'm working again :#
  • I had the opportunity to enter into the center ring of Stone Henge 10yrs ago at the break of dawn with a group of spiritual friends including a muscian and bard with his celtic harp....blue sky, full moon and sunrise all at the same time...talk about magic moments. At the time the main path already only lead past but not…
  • Stone circles are many things but never boring! Very special places.
  • How cool is that Flossy! Congrats!
  • First fast is in the books...another one tomorrow. I use the samsung health app as a step counter when i go walking. The burned cals aren't always as accurate as my garmin hrm. The app is pretty good though. Have a great day!
  • Good job Flossy. Not logging on NFDs and still losing weight....pretty perfect! Good job on the HIIT too! I've had a pretty good second half of the week and today was really good. A ride and a power walk in the snow and 50 squats as well as landing within my cals. Pretty awesome Saturday :p . Cooked a very nice meal for…
  • Wow, the mantra is working!! Have finished my fast day and it was pretty perfect. But then I was very busy on my first day back.... first day of courses with my 2nd year apprentices after a year of absence and we started with theoretical exams and preparations for practical exams (they so love me for that, lol...but it…
  • Good job on your first fasts!! Mine is tomorrow...as well as my first day back at work and it will be a busy one. Food is planned and prepped, so all should go as logged.
  • I'm a 5:2er since May 2013. It is as mentioned above a CICO with the cal deficit over the course of a week. It works for me because, I don't handle a daily deficit well for a long time. I lost 29kg in about 18mth (2 fasts per week and TDEE on nonfast days - yes I logged them too) and have continued to use the fast days…
  • Haha! That diet didn't have the same effect on me. I still love chocolate and Christmas cookies :# Joking aside - a few days of only potatos won't hurt you, if your diet was varied and balanced before. The high potassium in the potatoes with encourage your body to lose any retained water along with a bit of fat (assuming…
  • Cold and foggy night...then this as the fog lifted around noon. Very rare to have such clear lines between frost and no frost
  • Next week normality will return megellcor ;-) A grey and foggy day here, so the motivation to go for a run was reduced :o But I was waiting for a day like this.... I cleaned out my clothes closet and my coat warddrobe as well as the my sideboard and cabinets in my living room. Very necessary and two bags of stuff did not…
  • Well, my fast yesterday ended in a semi fast...still at 50% tdee. And this morning my scale had the nerve of saying my weight was up 200g. Not believing that.... On the upside the fog has lifted for a few days and I have gone running 3 days out of 4 with no knee or muscle aches. Back to work and fasting next Thursday. Away…
  • That's very thoughtful of her! How sweet.
  • Awesome job! Looks like your two older kids got taller and slimmed at the same time. What a great example you are setting for them.
