  • After I work out I know I'm going to have my pro-titan protein shake. I plan for it. I can only stand a half scoop, so I share with my boyfriend. We put a whole banana and two tbsp of creamy peanut butter in it. This fuels me while I make my lunch... which is usually something like tuna salad and apples. So, after a…
  • You've listed a lot of things that you *can't* do. What are some things you think you *can*? No one can give you motivation, will-power, etc. You have to want it for you first and foremost. You have to know you CAN achieve your goals. Start small. Stop the self-loathing. Say yes to things. As a former "this 22 is a bit…
  • This is precisely why my morning cereal bowl is a little bowl that will hold no more than 3/4 c cereal and 1/4 c milk! I hate to measure everything *everytime*. It's just a little way I help myself! Also, more on topic--moving to CA has really opened my eyes to the calories in restaurant food. They are posted everywhere! I…
  • Lol, "this is not the first day of me being fat." That cracked me up and I totally get it. Those of us who have worked at this for more than a few weeks really realise what it takes to change. Let's all stay positive and support each other! There is a definite need to kind of "screen" those who you choose to friend on MFP…
  • I really enjoyed WW when I did it. I did it ONLINE because I, too, did not want to stand up in front of a group each week and step on a scale. Just not my speed. My advice when switching from WW to MFP is to give yourself a "calorie range" to stick to. From the very bottom (1200) to whatever your top calorie intake from…
  • Firstly - you have to do it for yourself. Like others have said - you can't MAKE someone change. I do believe that with any relationship, with just about any subject, COMMUNICATION is key. I've decided I can't expect my partner to be psychic or to always know how I am feeling about something. I have to open my mouth and…
  • I totally do the same thing - I set myself a range between 1200 and 1720. I found that when I tried to hit 1300 on the nose or be perfect about everything I was just setting myself up for failure and/or disappointment. I also agree with previous posts on exercise. When I was trying to stick to a strict 1360 calories... the…
  • Always remember that MFP already calculates your calorie deficit. So, don't try to go under your already cut calories. You really DO need to eat your exercise. You have to nourish your body - not punish your body. I think you'll ultimately see better results in overall health if you not only exercise, but eat. And yeah, a…

  • Under your "My Home" tab, select "Check-In". You'll see that there is a small link near the bottom that says "Edit Previous Entries." There you can update your starting weight to whatever it is! :) Hope this helps and good luck!
  • Looking great, Michelle! You can really tell in your face, shoulders, and mid-section. Just keep going and one day you'll look in the mirror and say 'Wow, I've done it!'
  • So, let's say you went balls to the walls crazy and ate a whole package of celery in a fit of snacking rage.... 1 pound of celery (diced into about ½ in pieces) equals 4 ½ cups. Congratulations - you've just eaten less than 70 calories. I think you burn that by blinking. This is ridiculous.
  • There's also the consideration to be made if you've had children already or are planning to have children in the future. My mother told me it was one of the biggest changes in her breasts. She also told me that her breasts continued to grow until she was nearly 30. SO! Before you go under the knife, just think about all of…
  • I said this to someone else ,but... I don't care if I have to wear 10 push up bras... so long as I feel more comfortable in a theatre seat or an airplane. ;) I've already noticed some "shrinkage." But, cup sizes are proportional to band sizes, so you may wind up proportionally the same. For example... if you were a 38 C…
  • I agree with everyone else that your legs are really changing! That's so awesome! Keep doing the work and there is no doubt you're going to see the payoff!
  • That banana drives me crazy.
  • Six years ago I lost ~100lbs while WORKING at Olive Garden!! I would not allow myself to eat the breadsticks. I found I LOVE to just eat half a bruschetta appetizer for a meal (~300cal). Mmm.. now I want that. ;) But, just like everyone says - take a few bites of the main dish and box the rest up! Stop when you feel full…
  • Looking through your journal - you have a lot of calories that *aren't* being eaten. I had the same problem. I would leave ~200-500 calories uneaten. Start working to eat your exercise calories back and maybe just graze a bit more during the day. It looks like you're making good food choices, and cutting back on sugars is…
  • My TOM stopped almost completely right away. Unfortunately, a not so pleasant side effect of Depo is spotting and/or brownish clotting. I was on for 2 years and the clotting never completely went away. However, I was able to lose over 100lbs while on Depo. So, while they say weight gain is common while on the shot - don't…
