Protein shakes are a great meal replacement as long as you add to it. My favorite is vanilla protein powder (20g of vegan protein), fiber powder, almond milk, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and a bit of spinach. YUM! Yeah, I would ask your doctor if taking probiotics would help. If he says yes, then make sure you find a form that includes all three probiotics, prebiotics, and enzymes. They work better together.
