  • Hello People! I did successfully follow the 5:2 last year and dropped 15 lbs to very close to my ideal BMI. Back now for another round after I let myself go and did NOT maintain at least one fasting a week! That'll be a lesson for me... :)
  • I did 5:2 last year and lost 18 pounds in about 5 weeks. I maintained for 7months until a few (~5) Christmas pounds have accumulated. Now I'm shedding these in about 1 week! This diet is nothing more than common sense and a fantastic new development in weight management. Highly recommended.
  • I used MFP strictly as a recording/feedback/motivation tool last year during my weight loss period. I successfully lost about 10 kg to settle in at around 70 kg (1.68 m); this puts me at the 'high' end of BMI at around 24-25 but I feel comfortable there. I find the question of how many calories to eat to maintain one's…
  • I have an almost identical story to yours. I used to run ten to fifteen 5K races per year with 2-3 10K and a marathon thrown in for good measure. Then I relocated to the UK and with a drastic lifestyle change the running seems to have gone out the window. I just re-started by following the C25K programme 'as is' and…

  • 5K time is absolutely entirely variable. Others have mentioned the essential point: only measure your time against yourself. Another point to remember: ENJOY IT! I well remember clocking my very first 5K at 26 minutes on the nose and then slowly getting fitter and fitter whilst lowering my time to an eventual incredible…
  • Oh and she forgot the 'extra' arm toning exercise she gets almost every night as she wacks me a good one across the face when she claims I am snoring! That counts too! :-)
  • Joining the group here with a similar story. I used to run quite a bit. 15-20 races a year with some 15K, half marathons and 1 marathon thrown in for good measure. Then I moved to an area of the UK which is all hills! I seemed to have lost my urge to run (which was mostly on the flat). However, with superb motivation by my…
