  • For recipes, I would google the Paleo Diet. I don't follow that diet, but there are some amazing recipes out there and they use all fresh ingredients and it's mostly low on the Glycemic Index since they don't eat grains or sugar. Nom Nom Paleo, in particular, is good. Good luck!
  • Assuming it is a pedal bike, and not an electric bike, yes it is a great form of exercise. I don't get out on my bike nearly enough for my liking.
  • Yogurt is bad, as in, it tastes disgusting and I would never eat it. But, it doesn't make you fat unless it causes you to go over your calorie allotment for the day.
  • Then you need to find a different style. Keep trying.
  • For this weekend, buy a new suit. For the future, start weight lifting. You can grow yourself a new butt!
  • I just want to add a tip for getting down the stairs - If you go down backwards it is a lot less painful. That's how I go down the stairs for a couple of days after a half or full marathon.
  • If you find a solution, let me know. I've never been overweight, but my second pregnancy was twins. So, I have what I lovingly call "twin skin". It's a little loose and it's never going to get better since they are 14 now. Oh well, you can only see it when I wear a bathing suit or am naked so I'm not going to fret over it.
  • You can go to the playground. While your child is sliding, swinging, etc. you can do chin ups on the monkey bars, step ups on a bench, push ups, squats, sprints, etc. If you do them tabata style you will get a great workout. Just be creative. They may even want to join in with you.
  • A few years ago I had a stress fracture in my foot. I replaced my 25 miles a week of running with 100 miles of cycling. It was a very enjoyable alternative. I don't know how cycling would affect your Achilles, though.
  • Does she still nap? Maybe she won't whine if you walk during nap time and she can fall asleep? Do you have a neighbor/friend you can swap off with? I had 3 kids and couldn't use a stroller or a bike buggy with all of them. I would watch my neighbors kids for an hour while she walked or cycled, and when she was done, she…
  • Also, some organic farms collect scraps from other people to add to their compost piles. In that case you would just need a 5 gallon bucket with a lid and then drop it off once a week when you are out running errands. Check around.
  • Lululemon has running shorts with a rear pocket that will fit an iPhone, but not much else. Sometimes I use the flipbelt. Or, on longer runs, I have a handheld water bottle from Nathan that has a pocket big enough for my phone, cash, lip balm, and a key. http://flipbelt.com/ http://nathansports.com/hydration/handhelds…
  • Continue to eat well and exercise, because that will make you feel better about yourself regardless of what results you may get. Confidence is what people find sexy. Not the bathing suit. So, wear whichever style bathing suit you feel confident in. Just make sure it fits properly!!!
  • https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/into-sports/swimming/cIntoSports-cSwimming-p1.html I am not a swimmer, but I run and cycle so I have the Garmin 305, an older version of the 310.
  • Popcorn is wonderfully delicious. If you want to eat it, then you just need to plan for the calories. Have you tried it drizzled with chocolate? Yum!
  • This! So much this! You need for whatever you do to lose the weight to be sustainable. It doesn't sound like what you are doing right now is sustainable. You should enjoy it, not cry about it.
  • That will all depend on your goals and what being in shape means to you. I do a combination of lifting and cardio. Cardio keeps me sane and lifting will help me stay strong so I can live independently when I am an old lady. Looking good and being able to outrun the zombies is a bonus. :)
  • I am a big fan of the early morning workout. I am not a morning person and would love to stay in bed a little longer, relax over my morning coffee, etc., but if I don't get up and get it done before the rest of the world wakes up and starts making demands, then it won't get done. Honestly, as a working mom, I think that is…
  • Put on a ball cap and go run outside.
  • I would say that there are no "quick" ways to increase your endurance. It takes time and patience if you want to stay injury free. I would only run every other day, for now. I started with running/walking intervals, back in the dark ages before smart phones and running apps existed. On your running rest days, you can walk,…
  • Like others have said, it's just a matter of doing it. When I shop, I prep my meats as soon as I get home. The fat is trimmed off, the chicken breasts are pounded flat, everything in marinated and bagged up before it goes in the freezer to be pulled out later in the week. Every night, while cleaning up from dinner, I prep…
  • I've actually never been to Five Guys. I prefer to eat at home or a at a nice restaurant.
  • Thank you! I have meatless meals at least once a day, that does not make me a vegetarian and I would never call myself one.
  • You can also try using body glide on your toes. Or toe socks. http://www.injinji.com/shop/run.html
  • I am not going to criticize you for trying to eat closer to nature, or for calling it "Paleo", as I have no problem with that. I say, find what works for you and do it. But, for the love of Pete, PLEASE do not compare yourself to a vegetarian. A vegetarian (at least none of the ones I know) does not EVER have an occasional…
  • I just run in the rain. It's a very enjoyable experience. Put on a baseball cap and try it, you may surprise yourself.
  • Chapstick If I will be in suburbia I bring tissues (along with a zip lock bag) just in case the nearest toilet is the woods. ID Water If it is longer than 10 miles, or it is before breakfast, I will bring something to eat - power gel, Swedish fish, etc.
  • I also only get about 6.5 hours of sleep a night. I blame it on big feet; my kids are teenagers and have late night hockey practices. Is it hurting my gains? Maybe, but I will take lesser gains over nothing at all. Until the kids are all driving (3 more years) this is the way life is.
  • Actually, I think everyone gets it. No one is saying to do a complete set of clean and press. But, if the rack is occupied and the option you are using now is to do cardio and go home, then cleaning it off the floor is a viable option for starting your OHP set. No need to get upset about it.
  • You can increase by less than 20 by putting a dumbbell on the stack or sliding the pin through a 2.5 or 5 lb plate.
