  • I am 5'7" and 125ish pounds, and most of the month 1 workouts are in the 250-400 calorie burn range for me. The plyometric cardio circuit workout (which I consider the hardest) has me burning around 370 calories. This of course will differ based on your height/weight, fitness level, and how hard you push during the…
  • Love that you started this thread! When I started Insanity around 5 weeks ago I guess I could qualify as 'skinny fat'--didn't work out, untoned, flat butt, etc. Insanity has done wonders for my lower body and I have definitely increased muscle mass in that area. I have gained 5-7 pounds from the 'before' picture but think…
  • I have a bit of a sharp wit and have found a range of reactions to it...some guys love when I throw (playful, not mean-spirited) insults at them and others do tend to sulk a bit about it. I don't know if it's sexy or not but a sense of humor does make life a lot more fun.
  • I am on the first week of month 2 so hopefully I am qualified to give you a little advice! :) Insanity is a really tough workout but the hardest part for me was definitely mental--I wasn't used to being pushed or having to put in as much effort as the program requires. So it's just important to be in a good mental space…
  • I like how one of the poster compared them to freckles--they are kind of a neutral feature and I doubt guys really have strong feelings about them. I imagine that if they are seeing you naked, their focus is probably directed elsewhere, lol...I have pretty deep stretch marks on my butt and inner thighs and have never heard…
  • A little on the low side but not toooo far off! :) I am actually 125 lb (and 5' 7", hard to tell height from pictures). edited to add: @leebesstoad
  • Idk if anyone remembers Sendhil Ramamurthy from Heroes...I always thought he was so cute!
  • @Christina...You are tiny! I'm guessing 112-115 but hard to tell without knowing how tall you are.
  • ^ What I look like when I wake up for work on Monday mornings
  • Doutzen Kroes...#1 girl crush. She is perfect!
  • I just finished up week 3 of Insanity--it really is a great program! I have actually gained a few pounds but was lowish/normal weight to start with, and I definitely see more definition in my stomach and legs. The hardest part for me is definitely the mental aspect of the workouts. They really do push you and you will be…
  • If you are really trying to minimize calories, probably a vodka and water if you can stomach it (it's actually not bad if you throw a lemon in there). My go-to drink is Makers and diet coke.
  • I would do or say something incredibly awkward, then laugh nervously. There's really no good way to handle this kind of situation, lol.
  • Nice curves :) and confidence!
  • Can you even kiss someone with a beak? O.o
  • Lol, poor OP is getting more than they bargained for.
  • Haha when I see a large bum I'm just like "dang wish I had one of those!." But seriously, I think a curvy butt is really attractive feature and I always notice it on other women. Clearly it's just not your thing, and that's okay. Just like how some people find feet really sexy...I will never understand that one. :3
  • Would feel like I was in a Katy Perry song... :D
  • I am finishing up week 3 of Insanity so I really appreciate you posting this! You did an amazing job (obviously) so congrats!! You look awesome. :)
  • From a biochemical perspective, creatine--more specifically phosphocreatine--is a short-term energy source. It can be used by the muscles to phosphorylate ADP to ATP and provide energy for contraction...however, the natural supply in the muscle is pretty small (only provides energy for a short burst of activity). Our…
  • MRM and Jay Robb are my favorites, although the Jay Robb is a bit pricier. I can always find both at my local grocery store (Kroger) or you can order online for around the same price.
  • Mine's open! Not perfect by any means but definitely an improvement over my previous eating habits (which were sad, lol).
  • Yes! The achy feeling you have is your body trying to tell you that it needs a little time to recover. Even if you pushed yourself to work out today, chances are that you're not going to do your best anyway. Might as well take a day off so that you can put in your full effort the next day and get more out of your workout.
  • Never heard that one before. The only way to make your heart stronger is to use it!! : )
  • I like shakes because it's an easy way to get a lot of nutrients in a relatively small volume, which is nice if you're like me and aren't very hungry right after your workouts (I have been doing Insanity). I have been using MRM whey protein: I just add a scoop to half a cup of milk, throw in half a banana and some frozen…
  • I will warn you that I experienced A LOT of soreness in my calves and shins (and a little in my feet) after the first couple of workouts--I was in pretty decent shape but not used to all the jumping and plyometrics. The rest of my muscles were fine though, and the soreness went away in a couple of days.
  • I struggle a lot with this too! I am trying to reach 40% (Insanity meal plan) and consistently fall under. I tend to reach for more carb-heavy things so I really have to think a lot about the kinds of food I choose. You said you hate protein shakes, but maybe you just haven't found a protein powder you like? I don't care…
  • I am about to start week 3 of Insanity. I don't think it's the type of diet that you need to follow *exactly* to get results. The main principles of the diet portion are just to eat small meals of 300-400 calories and to have macro ratios of 40% carbs, 40% protein, and 20% fat...as long as you're following that (roughly)…
