  • If you are going to get into heavy lifting, make sure you have a coach that can help you with your form. Otherwise, you might accidentally injure yourself while trying to do the lifts.
  • Good for you!
  • I try not to be TOO pale, especially in the summer, but don't make a goal of being dark tan either. I don't like using tanning booths or getting out in the sun too long and getting burned.
  • I wasn't saying the Insanity program doesn't work -- just that it can really be TOO intense if you aren't used to working out a lot. I would recommend that anyone that hasn't been exercising on a regular basis try some less intense fitness classes or DVDs before attempting a program as extreme as Insanity. Otherwise, you…
  • Have you tried coconut milk to see if you like it better?
  • Unless you've been exercising for quite a while and already in pretty good shape, I don't recommend trying a fitness program as intense as Insanity. I have not felt the need to do Insanity, but I understand it can be very tough and overwhelming, even for those who are already fairly fit. Have you checked out the local gyms…
  • How about coconut milk? You might like it better
  • A coach at the gym where I go to boot camp sells it, and she really seems to think it's a good product. I have not been on the shakes, but from what I've heard, at least they won't do you any harm.

  • Not all doctors would recommend it, especially for people that are not extremely obese. My neighbor tried Medifast a few years ago and had to quit after a week because she didn't have enough energy to get through the day when she was following their eating plan.…
  • I would advise caution in getting involved with that program. The calorie allowance seems to be dangerously low for safe weight loss. http://www.ehow.com/info_8111607_cons-shape-life.html
  • Everyone is different, so it's impossible for a workout DVD program to have exactly the right number of rest days for every participant. . Rest days are very important because they give your muscles the necessary time to heal. If the schedule says it's a workout day, but you are feeling very tired and sore from the…
  • When you exercise outdoors on hot days, try and do it early in the morning or when the sun is starting to go down. If you must exercise during the heat of they day, make sure you stay hydrated and slow down if you feel like you're getting overheated.
  • And whole grain bread is much healthier than white bread.
  • We are all made differently, so some of us will naturally be better runners than others. There's nothing at all wrong with doing 12 minute miles.
  • If you are still really sore, I would recommend keeping your workouts relatively light until your muscles have time to heal. Everyone's muscles heal at different speeds, so if you need more time than some others might, take it! It's better to be on the safe side than risk injury by over doing it.
  • If you don't have enough appetite to eat enough, try drinking a nutrition shake at least once a day so you won't be depleting your body of vitamins and minerals. If your appetite doesn't improve, you might want to check with a doctor to make sure a medical problem isn't causing your loss of appetite.
  • See if you can find an oil sprayer and put your own olive oil in it. The pre-packaged sprays often contain preservatives, which aren't really good for your health.
  • Giving your body time to rest from injuries is much more important than doing the last 3 days of a DVD exercise program. Maybe the problem is the Insanity people should have made the workouts a little less taxing, or the program a few days shorter.
  • Do whatever works for you. Fitness programs are designed to meet the needs of as many people as possible, but you are the only one that knows how your body feels doing it. I started running with a group a few years ago, and there were some days I could do more, and other days I could do less. For example, when the weather…
  • I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but if you are new to working out, my advice is to take it easy for the fist few weeks so you won't get too sore and become discouraged.
  • Try and find an exercise class that you really like and it will make it that much easier to stick with it!
  • Unfortunately, some of us seem to be made that way -- we can look almost too skinny everywhere else and have belly fat. I think it often has something do do with your genes.
