Metformin gave me diarrhea all day. Keto gave me the skills that I needed to keep the carbs down. I really have a problem with diabetes type 2 “going into remission” and you’ll still have type 2 diAabetes. A1c is normal 5.6 and under. You don’t have a diabetes. That’s like a normal person 110/72 and hypertensive. I’m not…

Anti-depressants/anti-anxiety drugs are a big business. Amitryplin(?), Zoloft, Zoloft and Wellbutrin, and Celexa and Wellbutrin, are some of the anti-depressants I’ve been on in 8 years. I need to be my own advocate for my well-being, and when’s something’s not feeling right, I need to let them know. Wellbutrin/bupropion…

You sound depressed. I was depressed, but it wasn’t all sadness. Depression masks angry/irritable at the same time. Oh, I was angry at my husband and my cats. My stressors: my job, fertility problems, money problems, made it so I had to go on something (Celexa), or I had to be facing a divorce. I’m not prescribing you…

I count carbs. When I get 25-35 carbohydrate mark, I stop. Seeing that it must be so freeing not be a slave to the calories, I signed up.

Quest chips! Loaded Taco is my favorite “tortilla” chips!

Propel, people, Propel. It’s at the the DollarTree for $1. It’ll cure the “keto flu” and hydrate you. I say about two a day.

I think you should get a professional opinion. Ambien is just not doable for most people. I have OTC, like Tryptophan and HTP-1 -- or is it 1-HTP? It puts us in the mood for sleep.

I cook a spinach scramble, and sprinkle with a cheddar/queso cheese. Sometimes I add sausage! All that takes me 10 minutes.

I've heard that. I am allergic to lamotrigine -- it causes me to break out in hives, so onto Keppra. 500 mg in AM, 750 mg in the PM, and I hadn't any seizures for 2.5 years. I had no major setbacks in the keto arena (I'm in my mid-forties).

Where does the OP say "help build up muscle mass"? You're quoting out of context.
-
I'm on Keppra and the epileptic seizures are at bay.

You should not going under 2,000 a day. Walk a whole mile daily. That's should put thighs in great shape.
-
Why are you up into my business? What is it about my semantics? You're just splitting hairs on word meanings. Nine out of ten doctors wouldn't recommend Keto, including mine (in your face, Dr. X!). 12-16 carbohydrates is a significant carb count.

Yes, I’m saying to ditch Keto. The way I experienced it, you need two weeks of low-carb (you need 15-20 daily carbs) diet and puts you into ketosis. Then you get 20-30 carbs, and then you get berries and nuts and various veggies and then you get to 35-40 carbs. I grew to 55-60 real carbs and I had small-to-trace levels of…

Three times a day, sugar-free Metamucil would be 12 carbs a day. How does 8 carbs a day sound to you? It doesn’t sound great to me.
-
How many carbs? I do want to be following doctor’s orders and if it puts you around 20 carbs, I’d suggest going on a Mediterranean diet.

I’ve walking for about three years — making money from it: dog walking! I walk about a mile in 30 minutes, and I walk 5-7 walks a week. I got a few dog walking gigs that I credit with Keto influence (-28 pounds). Walking with gym saw the near -70 pounds and I’ve kept it off five years. Shoes are the best investment. I was…

I been here 7 (6.5, but who’s been counting?) years. Therefore, I know more than you. Think about that logically, and about it makes *no sense*.

Define knowledgable posters. They think like you do?

The keto flu is electrolytes and salts. So if you can drink one or two Propel (the same people that do Gatorade without all that sugar) then you be all right. It's $1 at the Dollartree.

I have lost over 70 pounds and kept it off for about five years. I know about the diet industry. ✌🏼

Pick a fatty protein and a salad. Fatty protein: chicken thigh and drumstick, 85% hamburger, beef ribs, and nice slice of steak, lamb chops, salmon, eggs Fatty sides: cheese, cream cheese, avocado, butter, whole milk (fair life) Vegetables: green leafy (kale, romaine, chard, spring mix, spinach, arugula, etc), zucchini,…

Whoa, I’ve been doing an IF again every weekend! 😇

That’s the way to do it! I felt way too sick off macaroni and cheese and ignored cookies. And I love my cookies!

I think you and your boyfriend are going to be out a $50 once you take a hammer to one. Your boyfriend can’t limit his choices at work? Or store them at work instead of your home?

Why are you trying to convey "Tiny numbers"? Is it the hill you want to die on? The overwhelming majority can see on this board is this "Sure, AnnPT, while she's quite oblivious and she's wrong anyway, and you're right! N.E.A.T. variations and normal RMR/BMR! You're a cute grandma!" You're the in-crowd, and mine is the…

The OP poster said: And I quoted her necessary "boosts" in metabolism. I couldn't give it an actual number, scientists don't know for sure, but I know for sure it helps. Spicy food generally helps. I dislike ginger (if you read above) and I'm so-so on tumeric. I love chai tea latte (with whole milk) and I have been known…
