  • Yes, there have been multiple threads, there are also threads, one in particular thanking all the mean people here and admitting that they were right. I never said cutting out foods entirely was my downfall, but I have been around long enough to see a lot of people fail using that strategy. Out of curiosity, what happens…
  • Why do I feel like this is on the verge of spawning another "mean people" thread? I don't see this condescension you're seeing. And I don't see it in other threads unless people really take their ignorance to a higher level of stupid and then insist on defending it in the face of facts. This is about help, no matter what…
  • This right here. Arguing with the ignorant is about like bashing your skull against a wall till you black out. Sure, it gives you something to do, but you don't really achieve anything. My best friend and lifting buddy is the same way, I don't even argue with him anymore, I just let him do his thing, maybe someday he'll…
  • You mean all of the 1840? Of course, the deficit is built in to that. Rigger
  • I use TDEE and count it the same as every other exercise I do, 1 calorie no matter how long I do it. You can log it under cardio as strength training. I think 60 minutes is something like 270 calories in the DB. Rigger
  • No need to get hostile, we're simply pointing out that these fad diets are not a good idea, they tend to fail. Look at it this way, you're going to make this drastic change, cut out foods that you like because the diet's creator deems them bad. Guess what? At some point that doughnut is going to come calling, and rather…
  • Agreed, I am typically high on carbs on lifting days, and lower on rest days. I wouldn't sweat it too much. Rigger
  • Huh, I usually have some ice cream, or cookies, or cinnamon rolls, or some other "yummy carb filled food" before bed, and I have no problem losing weight. What's this about a kickstart? Are you dirtbike? Skip the fad diets and just eat all the foodz. Rigger
  • No ice cream? No cookies? What kind of madman would do this to people? And it has "official rules" What's that all about? No thanks.
  • No need for a jumpstart (whatever that is considering you're clearly not a car battery) just start, right now, right this second, start weighing and logging and being diligent with your intake. It's really that simple, no need to do anything special, just do what you know you need to do. Rigger
  • I like to blend two slices of pepperoni pizza with half a quart of cookies and cream ice cream, that's about the only meal replacement shake I could recommend. Then again, I'd rather just eat the pizza and ice cream sans blender, but that's me. In short, save your money, those shakes are a scam. Rigger
  • I'm not sure what kind of math you used to figure that out, but I'm pretty sure it's not a discipline used on planet earth. And secondly, correlation is not causation, so don't claim that it is. Rigger
  • I'm confused, why are most foods off limits? Rigger
  • Nothing like reviving year old dead posts for no other reason than to beat a dead horse. Carry on then. Rigger
  • When ignorance is the question the truth should be painful, Herbalife is a scam, and it's dependent on repeat customers. The OP fell for it, and you fell for it and now you feel obligated to defend your poor decision in the face of facts. Both you and the OP should stop wasting your money on Herbalife's marketing, but hey,…
  • Nothing! Log it, and move on, tomorrow is another day. This "military diet is only off by about 6000 calories. I did 8 years, and 3-5000 calories is a typical day, and upwards of 7000 during intense training. This diet you're on is nothing but a crash diet, and a perfect recipe for epic failure. Rigger
  • That may be one of the dumbest things I have read all year, and certainly today. Overeating is what makes people fat, not what they eat, but how much. I eat burgers, pizza, hot fogs, chips, ice cream, drink soda, and consume a host of other "junk" food all the time, it doesn't make me fat. BMR doesn't change that much from…
  • I have cheat meals about once a week, and I don't have any of those problems, especially the self loathing you mentioned. Maybe you should reexamine your relationship with food bro, it doesn't sound healthy. Rigger
  • The best way to kick the addiction is cold turkey. I like mine with mashed potatoes, skip the gravy and smother it with creamed corn, then a slice of pecan pie for dessert. Food is not addictive, but over-indulgence is, as it stimulates serotonin production. That's the habit you have to break, because you can't live…
  • I like to have some chocolate before a rather robust lifting session, I find that when I'm in a deficit it gives me a boost of energy thanks to the sugar and caffeine. Personally, I think a life without chocolate is a life not worth living, but that's me. Now I'm off to find some dirty, sugar filled, processed dessert. >:)…
  • I have been at 210 as a 5'11" male, and 1580 would be detrimental to the health of those around me, I'd literally kill someone. A good cut for me at that weight was 2500 (Lifting 3X per week and playing basketball on Tuesdays) I can cut between 2700-2300 and maintain at roughly 2900-3000. Your mileage may vary. Rigger
  • You can eat at a deficit, never leave the couch and still lose weight, on the other hand, you can't outrun a bad diet. Rigger
  • Failure is part of life, in fact, success does not exist without it. Accept it, and understand that there are going to be bumps in the road, this is a long process, and if done properly, it's life-long. Don't fear it. Rigger
  • 10 Pounds in 7 days is little more than water and waste weight, and kick starts are for dirt bikes, not people. Rigger

  • Salmon is more oily, with more fats, it also tastes better. Personally, I'd go with salmon over tuna any day. My friend and I bottle our own trout and salmon though, which is ten times better than anything you buy at the store. Rigger
  • What are your stats? Can't do much without that. Do you use a food scale? Rigger
  • I'm at 40/30/30, but I don't sweat it a bit if I'm over on my fat macro. Fat is delicious, and your body needs it. Forget the low fat stuff and go full fat. Rigger
  • Depends on the fish, most white fish will dry out super quick, I'll usually do a blackened seasoning, or salt, pepper, and lemon zest, then I'll sear it in a super hot pan with a touch of butter and finish it in a hot oven if it's a thick filet. Oily fish like salmon and trout are more forgiving, but the same rules apply,…
  • Order sushi but leave the rice on the plate I suppose. Personally I would just eat what I want within my calorie goal and macro split. Rigger
