I would definitely say cardio over weight training if you want to be leaner :)

This article doesn't make total sense. First, it seems that the work hasn't been peer reviewed yet, so the jury isn't out yet on if the paper is legit. Second, they don't really explain telomeres accurately. Only a few kinds of cells in the body replicate, and those are the ones with telomeres. During the process of DNA…

I think fruit probably does the opposite of bloat you because it's low in sodium and has a lot of water

Hey girl! I'm adding you, I'm a college junior and we can help keep each other accountable! Congratulations by the way! :)

Just curious, what's the appeal of those contests? And how are they judged?

I'm on WW now and have been since December 2015, have only lost 10lbs and came here to figure things out more deeply. I could definitely eat more on mfp because it doesn't take into account how good for you the calories are (I.e. It's easy to go over on points if you eat all junk, but you can stay within your calories with…

Congrats on being here first of all! Being conscious of what you put in your body and how you treat it is already putting you in a better place for self improvement. I'm sending you a friend request and we can help keep each other accountable :)

Protein shake every morning! I used to eat a big breakfast but I'm finding that I like having little snacks and meals all day rather than clumping all my calories into 3x a day. I've been trying new protein powders but right now I'm using the chocolate Vega powder (90 calories/serving), a banana, ice, cold water, a bit of…

I like to keep my Diet Coke close and keep on drinking that instead of snacking (this is not to say that Diet Coke is a health food, but it is zero calories...) also it helps to not be totally starving before dinner (have a little healthy snack before going out to help curb cravings)

I think if you're hungry you should be eating more (that's not very much anyway). If weight loss has made you more active, change your settings to reflect that, which will allot you more food. It also matters how you're eating your calories. 1200 calories of white bread won't leave you satisfied all day, but if you eat…

What makes you say that? Sounds like you haven't even seen the documentary, so you can't really make an educated comment about its content.

Dude I'm sorry but there's plenty of evidence (which is fully accepted by the scientific community) that saturated fats and cholesterol in high levels are bad for heart health, too much over time can cause you to go into cardiac arrest. I think you should check your research (or lack there of) on google scholar (not…

I've already posted on here but I just wanted to add that as a vegetarian, I've never once had trouble getting enough protein in my diet

I'm a vegetarian (don't eat fish either, some people assume that I do) and chose to this way about 5 years ago (for many reasons). On the nutrition side of things, I consume very low levels of cholesterol, usually less unhealthy fats, it redirects me away from a lot unhealthy foods (most fast food has meat in it and I…

So who will announce the first challenge?
