You are absolutely right, I did devour a block of brie once though but it wasn't that mad frenzy like it is with the carbs. It's interesting that you say you start before the pmt sets in.. that makes sense, I am not sure I could say no during pmt! Do you go very low carb, or just low carb (I guess it's relative, but do you…

It's great you found that the vit d or fish oil may be helping. I tried reasonably high dose of vitamin d and calcium (I was deficient when I was tested some two years ago) but it made no difference to my pmt unfortunately. I do eat oily fish quite regularly but I guess 2000g is quite a lot...(?!) I will start…

Ah you see another post abut low carb. i was thinking of you today when I had soup for lunch  2 lb pounds of vegetables sounds better than two pounds of cereal/bread/cakes! You see I find that one bet tips me over the edge too. I hope it's better for you this month. Thank you for posting x

Oh I am sorry you had to have a hysterectomy. Hopefully you are well now though :-)

Oh if only I had spoken to you lot before I tried the "cut out all dairy" and only drink soya for a month... needless to say my pmt was worse than ever. Of course I can't know for sure if the soya was the cause but I was so adamant that soya would help. I guess I thought as it mimicked oestrogen it would help, in the same…

Right, we are having steak tonight!

I'm sorry. I'm a complete witch at the moment. I did take some posts the wrong way, it was unfair, and sometimes you just have to say it as it is! I don't mean to make you feel attacked. OOOhhh I will have to try this Stonyfield it has lit up my dopamine receptors already. Again, apologies.

Thank you for posting, what a post, You got through it! My PMT was loads worse after stopping breastfeeding some two years ago. I haven't recovered! Do you think that losing weight has helped reduce your pmt too, or just your resolve? 40lbs - wow, you go!

Great advice, I'm interested in the low carb diet, I try to increase my carbs to increase my mood, but this am it got out of control. That's great advice, thank you! How do you cope with that "I want to eat chocolate feeling?" I think, even writing this, I am a bit all or nothing and should have allowed myself some. At the…

Ah maybe I'm overreacting. I thought some answers were a bit sarcastic but maybe it's my hormones affecting my brain!

Hey thank you for your post. Actually I am anaemic, can I blame this?! I don't think that's helping. Thank you for suggesting that though as I hadn't thought it may be affecting things. I thought anaemia is "meant to" curb the appetite. Thanks for mentioning though (she types as she sips her iron supplement :-))

Hi, Yes I'm honest, perhaps too honest. The madness is I know what I'm doing at the time... just straight away afterwards feel remorse - insanity surely :-)

Ah the 72% bar advice sounds good. I think I'll get one for tomorrow. I think I had just presumed I could carry on the way I had been which was quite disciplined (with some treats). I think this is quite a mood issue too. Exercise will definitely help, thank you.

Interesting, I may try and pre-plan to maintenance. I usually find I don't need much breakfast but forcing more down may help with this luteal phase. Useful advice too thank you.

Fantastic advice, infact tomorrow I'm going to set aside a small bar of chocolate (I hadn't been keeping it in the house as I know at this time, if in all day I will gobble the lot). Ah you see I'm in the kitchen a lot of the day... maybe move my venue! Thank you, I think pre-planing and being a "no maybe just this one"…

I'm sorry you get this too. A fruit bowl is a good suggestion I only had one apple left this morning - I think I will go to the shops and refill :-) Good luck and thank you for the support.

Thanks to you all who have posted saying how shocked you are and how brilliant you are with your diet. Well done. I am happy for you- but your posts aren't helpful they are patronising and demoralising. I already feel a muppet about it- I know it's a lot!

Thank you of being supportive and sharing. I am sorry you do the same thing too. I am anaemic which can;t help and the doctor has prescribed an antidepressant for this "luteal" phase. It got a lot worse after having a baby, I don't know if it did for you too? Athough I have always been a bit greedy...you have managed to…

Hey Raspberry :-) Thanks for replying. I think your ideas are great- I have noticed just going for a walk helps. The impulse has been overwhelming and hats off to you for trying to tackle it. It's fantastic that you have been making progress, I'm just getting worse at the moment, but `i was getting better - but by…

Thank you for the reply. I have had a better day today, it's just trying to keep busy during the "red alert" times. Another kind poster suggested snacking on veggies too, and that's helped! Thank you, I probably do go quite a few hours without eating as sometimes have breakfast at six am and am snacking by 11!
